Was recently baceracted and sent here so they could collect my insurance money they keep you for 5/7 days and the food is jail food and you can’t even color one group a day for an hour and then they make you sit there and watch tv all day long

Communication between the "team" and family (those with teens) does not happen. They won't call you for nothing. And good luck being able to reach a patient via phone, even though they have phone time.
If you call asking for updates, they will transfer you to several places and you won't even get an answer.

Was here 6 days as in-patient and only spoke to a psychiatrist once and then was handed a bill for 1,300 dollars as I was walking out the door. I would never come here again or recommend them to anyone. This is not a place to get help.

I had admitted myself due to disturbed thought processing. They did not due a drug test. Which is standard procedure as the affirmed that with me on the phone. Then I asked to leave, their response to me asking to leave was that I can't. I was there involuntarily, which was a false statement. Held me for 9 days, which generated a 5800 dollar bill, due to no insurance. They will be talking to my Lawyer none the less.

The doctors lied on my medical records to get me involuntarily committed to their hospital, said I had taken a bunch of pills and if I was discharged I planned to overdose. This was a complete lie in order for them to process the BA-32 to get me involuntarily committed. The toxicology report showed I had no drugs in my system.

I was not offered the ability to get my own legal counsel for the court hearing like Florida law states I am.

I never once told them I had any plans or intention of killing myself but they kept me there for an entire week saying they needed to form a plan for my discharge. No plan was ever made they just sent me home once the 7 days was over, they just gave me a prescription for a months worth of sleeping pills, sounds like a great plan for someone who they claimed "took a bunch of pills"

These people belong in jail like they are doing to their "patients". They are not here to help anyone, they just charge your insurance company tens of thousands of dollars for you to sleep and watch Netflix.

This place is an insurance scam! They collude with local hospitals and manipulate patients and alter forms that they have you sign after that have drugged you. Then hold you longer than legally allowed saying they need to figure out a discharge plan to suck up us much insurance money as possible. Please if you have a loved one there contact representation or they will be at their mercy and held against their will even if they do not meet requirements for involuntary admission

This place is absolutely HORRIFIC! Nothing but a scam! This place holds and detains people longer than the law allows in order to cash in on insurance claims. They keep their patients drugged up and held against their will. You are trapped in here while they are cashing in. This should not be a surprise, you can read all the horror stories for yourself online in various articles and testimonials. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

This place is a scam they held my daughter in-law for a week against her will. She was lied to and keep drugged the entire
time she was there. They obtained her insurance information illegally from the hospital that transferred her there against her will…. BEWARE families this is not a place you want your loved ones! All they want is the insurance money!

0 stars should be an option. If you're looking for a safe place, this is not one to consider. In fact, this establishment is quite the opposite. Their practices are more than just unprofessional, but also horrifying and I'm not even sure how what they do is legal. Please, please avoid this place AT ALL COSTS.

This place is terrible, and if you are looking for help for your loved one psychiatric problem and you want to leave them in a place that they will treat them with compassion and love until they are completely better.this is NOT the place where you want to take them.

Even the people in the fron desk are rude and speak to you like you are asking them for money or something. "If you don't like your job.quit and go get another one" but speaking to people like they are lower than you, working in a behavior center is NOT where you should be working.

The only good thing in this center is that at least up-front looks to be a clean facility.but that's ÍT!

I sat there waiting for a loved one to see a grandma come in with a grandson that clearly needed help only to see the people at the counter told her they aren't going to help her and to go outside and call the Cops and wait for them. Totally ridiculous! No MD or even a nurse came to the front to try and speak with the young man. I've never seen that at other Behavioral centers I've visited. They should be ashamed of themselves.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

This place needs improvement in operations due to poor communication, no treatment plans or follow ups. The facility is neat and clean but unfortunately not well managed. This is my third time trying to use the facility for my mother and the second time that I've had to follow up at the ER due to poor medication management at this facility. Mom's 8 day stay at this place was a total waste of time, no follow ups or communication with physiquiatric doctors. She was heavily medicated. It took many calls and visits in person to get connected with nurse practioner. The medications she was changed to caused her to go into a shock and complete shut down and she is now on her 3rd day stay in regular hospital trying to get stable. This facility should have a process to contact patient's medical providers (like psychiatrist, primary care) to consult for existing and future treatment plans to help patient feel better, this is specially needed for chronically depressed patients with long term history of mental illness.

You get better treatment in the county jail. If you cry because you're scared to be there they will tie you down and stick you with drugs to knock you out. If you miss a meal they tell you its your own fault for sleeping.

If i could i would give this place a 0.when i first got there i was held in a room for over an hour or 2.there was a older patient knocking on my door he was bald and had a cross tattoo on his forehead it scared me alot.i was there for overdose/ suicide attempt and im also a 15 year old minor.the techs there don't care for your health or your emotions i cried multiple times and staff never checked on me.my parents tried to call multiple times and got put on hold for hours.my friend who i met there got assigned ptsd medication and fainted in the shower 20-30 minutes after taking it and it took the techs 10 minutes to find her and realize she fainted the techs didnt even notice it was a patient who pointed it out.they later sent her to the hospital at 3am and she didn't get back until 5am but she was still woken up at 6: 30 in the morning, later she was yelled at for falling asleep.the food there is horrible and taste so nasty, they fed us burnt grilled cheese and stale chips for dinner one night.i skipped multiple meals and they didn't say or do anything about it.group therapy/ individual therapy is nonexistent.all they will do for "therapy" is ask you "are you having any thoughts of suicide? " " Are you having and thoughts of hurting yourself or hurting others? " we sit in one room for most of the day unless were going to breakfast or lunch or the gym and we would only go to the gym for 30mins and then go back to the unit.we are always getting yelled and punished for other people's behaviors.me and my friends tried to talk to one of the techs on how we feel and he was rude and disrespectful, kept interrupting us and saying he cant do anything about it.i was given medication that made me twitch and when i told the tech she said she cant do anything about it.the techs are loud at night and not respectful of us sleeping.i was not let outside for the whole time i stayed there (4 days) i wouldve been there longer if it wasnt for my parents getting me out.they will keep you for way longer than needed.although some staff actually care and are nice such as nurse liz, mr chris, ms maxi and ms melissa but overall the staff were extremely rude.keep in mind i am 15 and there for overdose and was treated so poorly u would think they would help but they just make the situation worse.they barely let us use the phone to call our parents either.the place is dirty and there was a room closed because it had mold all over the roof, the shower heads have green stuff dripping down from it and the towels smell weird, the hygeine products are not useful at all.they do not have clothes for people who come in hospital gowns.they have nothing for plus sized patients either the beds are too small a plus sized patient couldn't even fit in it.

This place is miserable. They do not tell you what's going on, the will lie to you about your discharge date every single day. The "group therapy" is literally just yoga or coloring children's books. No real therapy. They will put people who came in for something simple as debilitating anxiety, and dose them with Seroquel. That's insane. I was only there for about three days, but I was lucky. I wasn't given a towel for two days, nor a toothbrush, or even told the rules of the facility, until I was about to go home. Some of the staff are nice and really want to help, (Mr. Chris is an amazing guy, you can tell he really cares) while others will mock you and enjoy making you miserable. I've sadly seen patients who were told their discharge was the next day, over and over again, and those were the patients with insurance. I can GUARANTEE that if I had insurance, I would've been forced to stay for a week minimum. This place is a insurance scam, and they make you feel worse coming out than when you went in there. My anxiety has gotten MUCH worse since being there, it's literally a place that will treat you like a convicted felon, not a patient who needs help.
For the love of God, do not go there or send your family members there. Just go to St Joseph's, or Tampa General. I can't stress it enough. The psych evaluations last only 5 minutes, and they will dose you on drugs after just a 5 minute talk.
I didn't, but I was one of the lucky few.
Have insurance? Enjoy being held captive. They do not care if you're not depressed or suicidal. Insurance = you're now a prisoner there.

The staff at North Tampa Behavioral Health are extremely helpful. Right from the start everything went smoothly. Everyone was immensely patient with me and took the time to explain the process to me.

My intake staff (Daphne) was amazing, she helped me come to terms that I would be best served as a patient of the inpatient program. I was not happy about that. I had read the reviews online which were not very favorable. I decided to voluntarily check myself into the inpatient program and try to get the most out of it despite all the negative reviews.

I stayed in the inpatient program for a little over a week for Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, Sleep Disturbance, childhood traumas, and Grief. The inpatient program was just what I needed to jumpstart my Healing Journey.

I had never participated in any type of group therapy and I was extremely worried that I would be ashamed of my past traumas. I did not want people to look at me in judgment. I felt that I would not be able to unpack my past and leave the broken pieces there. I was so comfortable speaking about my past traumas.

I had finally found a space that was safe to talk about my past freely without hesitation or fear (life-changer). They have created a safe judgment-free zone dedicated to helping their clients heal from the bondage of their past.

I had positive experiences in the Inpatient Program, Partial Hospitalization Program, as well as Intensive Outpatient Program. The group sessions were great; I learned quickly you only get out of the program what you are willing to put into the program.

Mental Health is a medical condition that can be managed by following your doctor's orders. Taking your medications as prescribed, eating well-balanced healthy meals, getting enough sleep, and fully participating in groups. If you are willing to be transparent and open to positive feedback, you will have great success in any of the programs offered.

Nurse Kim always greeted me with a smile and positive energy when I enter the building. Mrs. Chimeka was my first Therapist; I pray that she is doing well. Dr. Aziz is adept and easy to talk with. Nick and Rachel are interns I worked with, much success in their careers. Mrs. Valerie and Mrs. Stephanie are amazing therapists I had the pleasure of working with.

They help me find the best ways to process my childhood traumas and mental health issues. The therapist along with the group provided me with information that will be used in any future stressful situations. Relationships, school, work, and social events.

I have learned priceless coping skills that will help me keep one step ahead of my anger. I have learned what my triggers are and how to stop allowing them to interfere with my life. The most important coping skill that I learned was free. Take a deep breath and exhale it slowly. This allows your brain time to think then you can respond positively.

The customer service was professional and the overall experience was good. I had a positive experience. Clients' healing and understanding of their mental health diagnosis, triggers and how to manage them positively is the heart of all those who work at this facility.

I proudly recommend North Tampa Behavioral Health to anyone who is struggling with Mental Health issues or addictions. The focus or main objective in the group therapy environment is understanding that you are not alone. We all have different reasons for seeking help. Working with the group allows you to see that we are all stronger together.

Let’s stop the stigma around mental health and start the conversation by seeking the help you need. You are not weak, defeated, or inadequate when you have a mental health diagnosis. Allowing yourself to come to terms with your mental health illness and making the decision to seek help is the hardest part of your healing. Taking the steps to learn how to cope with your triggers and manage your mental health makes you zealous, empowered, and fearless.

This place is horrible. No therapy and they don't care about the patients. The longer they keep people the more they get paid. They are fraudulent with insurance. Recently they had 7 lawsuit cases.
