Ocean Nail Spa, SW 40th St

My first visit was in July 2020 and I quickly became a regular. Ocean Nails was my only nail salon until January 2023. At first I loved this place. Lots of little touches that other nail salons do not do- such as offer you water or wine, and hot towels on your feet and hands. Initially, I was happy with my gel mani/pedi which was $54 plus tip. However, as they became more popular I started having major issues. I had at least three gel mani/pedi's where the manicure looked horrible with streaky, unevenly applied polish with such a thin layer it was nearly transparent. Plus, a lot of dips in the nail because my nail beds are not always even and they didn't apply enough polish. Second issue was at least three times the nail color started peeling/chipping within one to three days. I had to go back and have them redo it all over again which THEY were not happy about. What about my wasted time of having to return because they did such a poor job? Also, Wendy has such an attitude. She either loves your or hates you. If you are in the hate camp, which I apparently was, she intentionally hurt me. I would tell her she was being too aggressive and rough and would would get angry! It was not in my imagination as my cuticles would bleed. This despite I am always on time, pick out colors quickly and tip between 15%-20%.
I have also seen Jerry, Candy and Raymond and had poor manicures from them as well. Gel manicures should not start peeling and chipping by the next day. The last straw was I was going on vacation so i had a gel manicure/pedi and it peeled and chipped by the next day. I couldn't go back to have it redone again because i was out of town. By the end of my three day trip my hands looked terrible. I was on vacation so no dishwashing or cleaning. Only sitting around and relaxing. I spent $76 on a one day manicure only to have it redone when I returned from vacation. Unfortunately, I am done with this place which saddens me because it's close to home, they have convenient hours and they speak English.

Wendy is great! I've been coming here for a couple of months and they have yet to disappoint. I started bringing my mom to get hair nails done with Wendy now and she's also very happy with the service and how nice everyone is. As with any other beauty service, they work by appointment because they are so busy and that means they're doing a great job.

Since my first visit I have never been disappointed. They are clean, attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this nail salon. It’s best to make an appointment.

I used to love this place, but I just went to get my nails done and they completely messed up my manicure. I tried to ask a question and he was so so rude to me. He would yank my hand. I was really uncomfortable with him. I asked to just pay and leave as I didn’t have time to redo anything.

I was a walk in and I waited no long at all. They were very attentive and very clean. I love my nails!

My husband took me here. What a mistake. The lady who was attended me was awkward to begin with - she messed up one of my nails and when I had noticed, she blamed me and charged me to fix it. Stay away from these hood rats.

Avoid this nail salon at all cost. I can't stress it enough, avoid this place. I never imagined I would be inclined to leave a review of a nail salon but this place is the worst.

TERRIBLE.the staff is rude, disrespectful and prejudice.my gel manicure lifted within 5 days.

I had a great experience, nice staff and Raymond (I believe that was his name) did an awesome job on my manicure. I didn't have to wait too long but was offered refreshments as a courtesy. I just appreciated the great customer service overall, will recommend to my friends

I went to have a mani & pedi yesterday @ Ocean Nail Spa. Raymond did my mani & pedi and this is the best nail and foot manicure that I have ever had. I have had my nails done in NY, Arizona & NJ and this is the best service that I have ever received. I will return to Ocean Nail Spa. They are excellent.

My favorite salon in Miami. Amazing service amazing people amazing nails! Raymond is the best I always ask for him. The place is so beautiful and feels luxurious. They ask you what you want to drink and play cool music! Such a treat whenever I can come. It is more expensive but it is worth it because your paying for a quality experience and results.
