ODeeny's Caribbean restaurant reviews
13Place was delicious. Pikliz was not spicy but that's ok. I like really spicy food. Pork was perfectly cooked, oxtail were fire! Chicken wings were great. Everything was delicious! The lady even played music for the kids! Super hospitable.
This is an excellent restaurant. The choices for my gluten free, dairy free, meat free diet were met even though they don't have a specific menu for any of them. They cater to your individual needs without hesitation. I had the Legume (Beef) Stew without the beef, rice without meat and fried plantains. The Mamey Sapote shake made with coconut milk was an added delight. I was with a group of 9 and the space was more than adequate. Their signage isn't easy to see from the street and only visible when you drive in front and look carefully at the glass front then you will see the business name. maps turns into the wrong entrance and Google Street view is wrong showing from the parking lot of another business. The business owner can correct this on maps from a computer.
This goat creole changed my life! My first time eating Haitian food and it's amazing!
What a special little place. The food was amazing! My wife had the curry chicken and i had the jerk chicken. Both are finger licking good. Good portions. Great service which is rarely seen in the area. This is one of our new favorite restaurants. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for finger licking good home style Caribbean food. God blessed the woman's hands that made our food.
Excellent food! The hostess is was kind, helpful and thoughtful. The spice Tempe was perfect. The location is off the beaten path and not upscale but worth it. You can ask if you can brown bag since they do not have an alcohol license.
What a lovely treasure we stumbled upon. Home cooking at its best. The jerk chicken was seasoned nicely with a decent kick. The beef stew was mild but flavorful, giving all the veggies room to shine. The meat balls on the mixed platter were heavenly and mild enough for my kids to enjoy. We appreciated the kids plate of fries and nuggets for the picky eater. Soursop and guava shakes cleared the palate and made for a perfect finish. Absolutely recommend! Get into your laid-back shoes and give your tastebuds a little Caribbean vacation. Tip: If you need assistance, but the waitress/cook is busy in the kitchen, open the front door until the bell rings and she'll come to the front ;)
Small hole in the wall that offers great tasting food. The jerk chicken, meatballs and pork is the best ive had. Highly recommend this place. Never knew we had food this good right there the whole time
We stopped at O'Deeny's for a quick lunch while visiting the area to see the Everglades. It's tucked in a strip mall and there are only about 8 tables so it's small. Our adult kids had never had Caribbean fare and the reviews for this place were glowing so we tried it. We were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious and the owner was so friendly and attentive. Thanks Deena for a great experience!
We were traveling through the area and went for a dinner due to the good reviews. Food was OK, probably more 3.5 stars but I’ll give them extra 0.5 for trying. The fried pork had a lot of skin and fat. The chickens were a little too salty. The legume stew was very mushy but flavor was intense and good which I liked. The ambience needs some work and our dining experience was ‘interesting’. It took a long time for the food to arrive. While we and another party were quietly eating a guy came in and played an action movie really loudly on his phone The owner either couldn’t hear (which was a problem with ordering) or didn’t care. Upon request she did ask him to tune it down. The guy did for a short while then it was back to super loud again. We ate and left as soon as we could. This maybe a good place for locals but if you are looking for a nice dining experience and interesting ethnic food I wouldn’t recommend.
Went because of the other positive reviews, but ended up having an awful time there. The bathrooms were closed, a single song was playing on repeat, and our server stayed in the back. I needed to ask a question because I have food intolerances, so after 15 minutes I finally called the restaurant and asked her to come out so I could ask. She still took several minutes before coming over, so I took my food to go and left as fast as possible. It turned out I could eat it, but it was not good. The only flavor was salt and a lot of it. My companions had ordered jerk chicken but got curried chicken. It was so sadly inhospitable.
I had food catered from this place. It was the best griot and piklis I've ever had. I'm upset that I didn't find out about this place sooner.
The atmosphere is beautiful and the customer service is great. My son ate all his food and he is very picky. My legume was delicious the best I ever had, and the plantains are very fresh. Beautiful family owned restaurant and very clean.
