Several months before I contacted Adam our family lost our beloved family dog to cancer. She was the perfect dog! I knew any dog I brought home from there on out would have big paws to fill. I told myself I would wait for an older dog, one that was already trained. I don't have time to train a puppy. With two young children we need a dog that is well behaved and won't add to the challenges of work, parenting, and everything else.

Then came Maya, a cute irresistible PUPPY in need of rescue from Puerto Rico. I folded like a cheap deck of cards and brought this PUPPY home. Our children were thrilled; they showered her with love. I slowly asked my self, what have I done? Maya was a good puppy, but still a puppy, running wild with two young children bound to push the limits. Fast forward a few months, we soon realized we needed training. We needed help. We tried several local puppy classes with little progress and slow progress.

Then I found Off The Leash Academy. I spent several weeks meeting with Adam. Adam worked Maya and I through some of the basics. I learned a lot, but further realized our schedule and expectations would require more than weekly classes. After speaking with Adam about his board and train program we decided this option would be the best for our needs. When we dropped Maya off with Adam and Melissa Maya was a dog with every intention of testing the limits. She knew very few commands and she decided on her time when and if she wanted to listen. We checked in with Maya half way through the program and saw Maya transforming before our eyes. She was eager to learn and had the perfect trainers to direct her energy into positive results.

When we picked Maya up several weeks later, I literally couldn't believe my eyes. Adam and Melissa returned Maya to us as a new, well behaved, trained, happy, respectable dog. The transformation was incredible. Adam worked with us up front to understand what was important to us ie no jumping on people, no taking the kid's toys, walking on or off a leash properly etc etc. Everyone of the those concerns were addressed and Maya and I were set up for success.

After getting to know Adam and Melissa, I can tell you they achieve this level of excellence through hard work, extreme knowledge, and dedication. Adam answered every question I had, responded to me, and explained how and what he was doing. Part of the process is learning from Adam and understanding your role in your dogs success.

Maya has been home with us now for several months since completing the program. Thanks to Adam and Melissa we are now able to enjoy our family dog. The stress of having an animal that adds to the daily chaos is gone. While you can never compare one loved dog to another, Maya has filled the big paws our prior pup left behind. She is a wonderful!

Adam and Melissa help dogs but also help people/families. They helped us and truly delivered everything we had hoped for and more. They change lives and for that we will be forever grateful.

May we just say “ LIFE CHANGING”?
We moved our young Lab, Hobie, from a home with a large fenced-in yard to a community with no yard and no dog park area. He quickly became a puller and extremely reactive. His behavior held us hostage; causing us to only walk him a night and in the small patch of “ yard” behind our home. CERTAINLY not a life for him.

Adam has given us the skills to show Hobie who was in charge. He taught us how to set behavioral boundaries and expectations. His wealth of knowledge enabled him to use various methods to achieve success. Adam backs suggestions with fact and experience. His is NOT a “ my way is the only way” approach. Rather it’s “let’s see what approaches/training tools etc.we can use to achieve your goals”.
Hobie is now a happier, more confident (and non- reactive) boy. He is the dog we wanted him to be, living the life we wanted him to have.
Equally as important is my increased confidence that I can handle him through any situation that may occur.

Adam did a outstaning job with our dog. He also helped us understand the importance of keeping him engaged and challenged. He is a great trainer, highly recommend his 4 week board and train program.

Can’t say enough about how well this operation runs. I have a husky and left him there for a month and the trouble maker came back very well trained. It’s a cool feeling to be able to walk down the street without a leash. Adam and his wife and crew are super friendly and get the job done. Will be using them again for training other dogs and also boarding!

BEST DECISION! I am a single mom and both my daughter and I had a dream… to have a golden retriever puppy come and be a part of our family. Although I knew it would be a challenge, I honestly didn’t realize how much until we brought her home. I needed serious help! I knew of Adam from previously seeing his work and was HIGHLY impressed. I called him right away and Nala attended his Academy where she was literally transformed before our eyes. Not only was she trained to perfection but we are now enjoying her puppy season of life to the fullest instead of counting the days for it to be over! My daughter and I were able to be involved every step of the way and we came out better people for her not just her for us. After her graduation Adam is always there for us if we have questions or want to learn something new with Nala. Off The Leash Dog Academy not only teaches dogs to be their very best in a place you can trust, but cares all along the way that the whole family succeeds together!
