Good selection of German dishes. The service was great and the atmosphere was the best. Everyone enjoyed their dishes as well as their desserts.

What an absolutely amazing belated birthday dinner! Everything was perfection! The food, the beer the service. EVERYTHING. We loved the food that we chose and our server was so amazing!

Good food, good staff, but there was an older German lady that dis not stop talking the entire time and apparently she is there every day.

Always a pleasure at Old Castle Tavern. It can get pretty packed though so be prepared. Food is cooked to order and my favorite items are the Schnitzel al a papa and bread dumplings. Yum!

Tried German food for the first time. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with the brown gravy and mushrooms, and home style potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, but completely flavorless! Not a sprinkle of salt, nor any herbs on any part of the dish. I wanted to like this place because of the reviews, but the food was too bland. Had to ask for salt and still didn’t help everything

The waitress was prompt with service and was nice. The place has a bar feel to it, and seemed pretty relaxed. Maybe people come for the drinks and staff, but I wouldn’t recommend coming for food.

Came here for lunch. Food is outstanding. Great selection of German beer on draft. Friendly staff and prompt service. Prices are reasonable, good quality and large portions.

The food was terrible, I was treating my neighbors who are German. I won’t go back there again. Potato pancakes were hard, chicken was tasteless, red cabbage disappointing! Waitress was very friendly

We have been enjoying this German restaurant for many years! We drive a far way to get there, but the food is authentic and great tasting.so worth the drive! It is the BEST traditional German food in this area.the Real McCoy, like my German mom used to make! Cool stuff hanging on the walls! You almost feel like you are in a traditional German Gasthaus! Clean! Nice layout! Great service! (Jazzlyn is the BEST!) The music is great and the slide show of Germany is such a nice touch!

We have been coming here for a couple of years. If you like authentic German food, I would highly recommend this place. The staff is very nice. If you go you on date here you have to get smorgasbord board for two it comes with dessert!

While the food itself was outstanding, the service was by far the worst I have ever experienced. Everyone in my party greatly enjoyed their dishes, I would personally go back just for the perfectly prepared pretzel and the variety of dipping sauces. Hats off to the kitchen!

Unfortunately, the stellar food was overshadowed by the abysmal service. From the moment we were seated, it became apparent that our sever James was disorganized, inattentive, and apathetic would be an improvement of his demeanor. It was over an hour after we were seated that we received our entrees, and the check-ins to our table were minimal and basic requests (for more water or napkins) we had to address with other proactive servers/bartenders who were readily available. I will say that this poor service does not appear to be an issue of the overall restaurant, but one bad apple amongst the team - many other parties came and went during our time at Old Castle.

I look forward to coming back and enjoying the stellar food, but hope for far superior service than what was experienced today.

This is a gem of a place. I have never had true German food this absolutely amazing. Seasoned perfectly. Definitely will be back. Lunch prices are great.

My wife and I had an amazing lunch. It wasn't too crowded and the food was delicious. My parents eat here regularly. They say the food is as close to authentic as any place they've tried in the US.

I used to come here once a week for lunch and a beer. The food and service was always good and served by people who you recognized week after week and who recognized you. Now it seems that there’s a new batch of workers every week. The quality of service has declined along with the food. I used to like this place, I want to like this place but like so many other restaurants post pandemic, its not the same.

This was one of my favorite places but the last 4 visits have been a disaster. The first visit we waited over 20 minutes to have our order taken, then over 30 minutes for our food. Second time, waited over 20 minutes for food while unfortunately, the servers were at the bar having shots to celebrate whatever. The last two times, we walked away because we have to wait over 15 minutes to be seated even when the restaurant was not crowded. We saw several empty tables. One person took my name, walked away, and then came back to sit whoever she saw waiting inside while we were waiting outside. Hope they can work these issues with staff, if that is the problem. Will try eventually, but it will be a while before I do.

Update! I did go back and there was a significant improvement. Placing the order, serving the food, and checking out was quick. Food was delicious as always. Even our party commented on the service, which was great. I am very happy to know you have been able to improve on the waiting time.
