This is a great Steakhouse inside the Gaylord Palms Resort a little on the pricey side but the food is exceptional and you can't go wrong having dinner here

Steak was okay at best. Have eaten much better steaks that have been cooked to order. Asked for medium. NY strip was well done although tender not what i wanted. Grey in color, overpriced. I wouldn't go here again. Our meal consisted of a bottle of wine, kids pasta, two steaks a NY strip, Porter house and two sides Brussels and potatoes as well as an appetizer. Our bill was $400 before tip. I would gladly pass.

My husband and I had such an incredible experience here! The atmosphere, food and service was some of the best we've ever had and so look forward to going back! You can't go wrong with whatever you order. The Pretzel Brioche Rolls with Orange Butter were very yummy, a great start. We had the Cheese Board and picked out 3 cheeses. It includes olives, nuts, dried fruit, jams, etc for spreading, Lavash Crackers, all sorts of yummies! You can pick 3 or more cheeses. The servers will give advice if you're unsure about which ones you want. This restaurant is a bit pricey BUT a must for a romantic night out!

Our group ordered the seafood tower, which we very quickly realized was not fresh. For being so close to the ocean there really is no excuse. If you can’t get it fresh, don’t offer it, or only offer it until you run out—but don’t serve frozen oysters and clams. The shrimp was over cooked (tough), then frozen and thawed. It was just poor quality. The mignonette was a cup of vinegar with a few shallots in it. This is not how mignonette should look or be. I asked for a medium cooked steak, and flavor was good, but temperature was all over the place. Some perfectly medium pieces, some very rare, some medium rare. For the several hundred dollars we spent, it should’ve been worth it. Train your kitchen staff on the basics. Would not recommend because the quality is not up to par with the cost.

We couldn't get reservations on a Friday night but the hostess suggested we consider sitting in the bar. We wound up having a great though pricey, meal. Server Kaelyn was excellent. Very attentive and pleasant. The gulf shrimp cocktail was good (five shrimp total), French onion soup was good though on the sweet side (perhaps the Sherry), 8 oz filet ordered medium was cooked correctly with a pink center and apple cider vinegar roasted brussel sprouts were good. The 2018 Rombauer merlot was very good. Best selection of wines at this hotel.
All in all a good meal.

Not worth the money. If you can leave the property you will find something better tasting and priced.

We Dined on Feb 5,2023 @the Gaylord Palms Old Hickory Steakhouse in Kissimmee and met up with a small group of Business acquaintances. Our Meal was served promptly & was absolutely delicious-Our waiter (forgot his name-but was very Seasoned) was very Professional & knowledgeable -we sat out on a back deck and felt as if we were having our own private Dinner Party-a miscommunication ensued as the Drinks were flowing & our water took total control of the situation before it was able to escalate any further-My Thanks to All Staff involved that evening-Ohh and the Desserts were the topper to an end of a very fulfilling evening.

A must go especially during the holidays. The food is amazing! Their aged steaks are the best I've ever eaten and their service is always top notch.

Good server, price extremely high and food was waaaaaaayyyyyu to salty! They think that by dropping bags of salt make food better! If you are watching your diet or have health issues.this is not the place for you or anybody! Other than that.average!

Food is good. Came just for the restaurant, and they won't validate parking like they have in the past. Don't bother unless you are a guest.

Booked the stay and shows with the hotel months in advance for a Christmas party to have over 25 emails to Sarah for reservations for 20 people to find out the day before she still has nothing figured out for us. Took her days to respond with no cares about customer service. Definitely not a recommendation for groups.

So disappointed in this restaurant. The salad was amazing, the $50 seven ounce filet was burnt to the point of not being edible. There was nothing about this experience worth the $500 dinner price tag. We should have gone to the sports bar for a burger.

Worst steak I’ve ever had at a “steakhouse”. Sides and drinks were good. But don’t go here if your expecting a quality steak cooked correctly. Go to Wreckers instead and get the NY strip. It’s better there.

Had dinner for my husbands birthday. Everything was amazing. We had the New York Strip, Potatoes and asparagus. It was worth the price. We will dine there again.

Our waiter was Angel and his brother. Friendly, efficient and fabulous service. The meal was expertly prepared, presented and great to the taste buds!

My wife and I were staying at the Gaylord and decided to try Old Hickory instead of going out locally. We ordered French onion soup and lobster bisque instead of an appetizer. In my experience lobster bisque has a slight sweetness but this was very salty without any noticeable sweetness. The French onion soup however was so sweet it was shocking. We shrugged it off thinking it was maybe just their take on it and we were looking forward to the main course. At the waiters suggestion we ordered the "butchers cut" which was a 36oz NY Strip. He said it would be cooked to our liking and then sliced on a board and served with truffle butter so we could both share it. It sounded good so we ordered it medium with a side of asparagus. When the steak came out the first thing I noticed was that I could not see any pink in the slices. On further inspection I found grill marks in between the cuts so it appeared to be cooked, then sliced and then each individual piece was cooked again. It turned out to be between medium well and well done. For the price of the steak I decided that I was going to ask them to bring me another steak. The waiter agreed that it was not medium and took it back. The next steak brought out was a total disaster. It had slight charring on the outside and just below that surface was a jerky dry more than well done beef. The most interesting part was that it then transitioned to a perfect circle down the middle of the steak that was medium rare as if they cooked the meat at a high temp and the middle was frozen so the result was the disaster that I personally would have been embarrassed to serve to anyone. We took some pictures of it just to show some friends because it was impressive that it even left the kitchen (pic attached was with the melted truffle butter so it appears juicy but it was not). We tried one piece each hoping that it would by some chance be tender enough to eat as now we were really hungry however it was dry around the edges and chewy in the middle. When the waiter returned we pointed it out and he took it away and apologized. Mind you now our asparagus was ice cold and sitting in coagulated butter as we were trying to save it to eat with the steak. Thankfully he removed the steak from our bill as I was worried about having to argue that. I left amazed how bad the whole experience was and we probably will not return.

We enjoyed the delicious drinks, food, and steak, which was a great cut and the chef cooked it perfectly to our instruction. The French onion soup and the tagliatelle pasta were also good. The ambience is unique, restaurant is situated in a wooden cabin in the Gaylord hotel. We will definitely be back.

Ron was a phenomenal server, and very knowledgeable. He was able to quickly answer any questions about the menu and offer suggestions based on our preferences. The food was absolutely delicious. We will 100% be back!
