Old Key Lime House reviews
17This place is awesome! Always had great servers and really good food! Great venue and just fantastic all around!
Good food, pleasant service; this is a fun place to eat. The restaurant is right on the Intracoastal Waterway and is not enclosed; there is also a large outdoor seating area beyond the open-fronted building. It's real old-Florida with indoor and outdoor bars as well, and moorings for your boat, with reggae and ska playing in the background. I believe they also have live music on certain days.
Drivers: parking is valet only unless you are lucky enough to find a spot on the street.
We were asked if our food was good in a very timely fashion and a manager also visited our table; nice touches.
My only real disappointment was that the fish-and-chips was made with swai (a type of farmed catfish from East Asia, always frozen) and not cod or haddock, although mahi-mahi was offered as an upgrade. I'm a bit of a purist and even mahi-mahi, one of my favorites, does not make good fish-and-chips; warm-water fish are not suitable for this dish, in my humble opinion.
You'll have an enjoyable meal here; give it a try!
Our waiter was amazing. The pie was amazing. The woman in the shop was amazing. The women at the front of the house and waitresses…. Have never in my life encountered more rude, snide or judgmental people. They acted as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us to be there. My 10 year old son actually asked “why is that lady so nasty? ” In particular a mean-souled, heavy set, unfriendly dark haired woman (found her name, won’t post) treated guests like trash. What should be a 5 star rating is a minus 1 bc the staff needs some serious training in hospitality.
The service was horrible. Mangers throw out 5 people who had been sitting there for 2-3 hours after a local customer started to mess with them cause they were playing ring toss for more then 5 minutes. The African America manager was so rude to them, he should really lay off the steroids. We felt really bad for those people and tried to talk with the America manger to let him know what happened but he wasn’t hearing it either. It’s a shame they throw out the wrong people. I will never go there again if that’s the way they treat paying customers.
This place is a favorite by the water. Usually very quick and free valet parking. The menu changes from time to time but never disappoints.
A quaint place.for casual dining. Food was
Very good, our waiter was very professional and
Helpful with suggestions. And of course the view.beautiful
I have only heard great things about this restaurant my friends and family love it but where are the vegetarian dishes i cant eat there because i am a vegetarian please add additional vegie dishes or pasta
dishes to the menu so i can enjoy what my friends and family enjoy
My friends and I celebrated our "belated" July birthdays there. Being on the intercoastal made the Celebration so special! The food was good and the service excellent! Totally enjoyable!
Wonderful atmosphere overlooking the intercoastal water. Great drinks and snacks. Will definitely be back!
One of the best restaurants on the waterfront. Outdoor seating is amazing especially for COVID19. Absolutely recommend for date night
Wonderful dinner experience. Sat on the dock right next to the water. Nice breeze off the water.
Popped in for lunch driving from Marco Island to Palm Beach and back. Real good stuff. Beautiful location and great ambience. Shrimp tacos were a hit, and the salmon/goat cheese/onion/horseradish sandwich was surprisingly delicious! Recommend for lunch for sure
My parents have been coming here for ten years and love it. Yesterday for there 62 Anniversary we went and the food was terrible. Grouper fingers were horrible, thick hard breading and the meat didn't look or taste like grouper. The Onion rings were cold. Our waitress was wonderful. A young new manager came to our table and asked how our food was and we told him politely he offered no recompense for our experience. He said thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, my parents said they will never go back. The military discount is just for the military member. Not their family, BOO.
What a poor experience. For my sister's bachelorette party we visited Old Key Lime House and absolutely wasted our money and our special last dinner toasting the bride. We are all ex-service industry people so we go in big and tip big and love to be good patrons, but when we get bad service we are all very alert to it and our group was shocked at the poor quality of this establishment. Please reevaluate your servers and retrain them in customer service, I've never met anyone less pleasant in my life. The server mug faced us from the get go, even though my sister was wearing a veil hat and a white dress she didn't say anything kind - so I said, "My sister is getting married so we're here celebrating her" to which said "yeah I see her hat" or some short nasty reply The thing about this and so many restaurants in the tourist areas of FL is that the tip is included so don't make the mistake of coming here because you'll still have to reward nightmarish, rude and cold service. The whole attitude is "We can be rude as hell it's our deal" which is cool when the food and drinks are good but they were horrible. But this isn't Dukes Last Resort, I'm not paying you to feel insulted. Literally every drink was watery, tasted like it came from a cheap drink mix. That's to say, the things we were able to order sucked, it was an hour out from closing but she did not warn us that items were unavailable until after our drink order was put in. DO NOT ORDER spicy margarita it was terrible, watery, not spicy, not even flavorful as a plain margarita. Upon returning with drinks to take our order we were informed every single item on the menu except for salads and coconut shrimp were available. I cannot say enough bad things about this place. Save yourself the time the trouble the absolutely unbearable attitudes and go ANYWHERE else. Go to a drive through and order a fish filet at McDonalds, you're not missing a thing.
The food is mediocre, slightly overpriced, decent service. Make sure to check your bill, if you're a party of 6 or more they automatically add 20% tip. This is a complete turn off, I will not be returning.
Atmosphere is laid back! Make sure you dine on the back deck for the best view. Try the key lime tacos!
Missing my girlfriend.we went there once. I sat in the same chair and had th Key Lime Pie and a bottled IPA, just like our last time there. She is so pretty, I miss her.
