Old Northeast Tavern reviews
16The place is a true neighborhood bar. Thumbs up on the Rueben and coleslaw. Might be a good place to watch a game. Negatives: bathroom garbage can was overflowing with paper towels (several reviews complained about the cleanliness), the bartender dissapeared for minutes at a time, beer and wine only. Still a cool place to check out.
Been wanting to try this place and finally did. The decor and overall vibe is "tavern" which is great and the waitress was excellent as well other than she mentioned how fresh everything was (and I wasnt). My gf and I both ordered the French dip and Ceasar salad. Came out and tasted like the meat was sitting around and finally decided to make a sandwich. Au jus was just ok nothing special. Unfortunately walked away highly disappointed as we really wanted to like this place. Probably would come back for drinks but definitely not order food.
Great little neighborhood bar/ resraurant with a pizza/sandw menu that is varied and delicious. I had the Portobello on chiobani bread, so good. Hubby had Roast Beef and also delish. Serv I ce was excellent and our server had lost her voice, but still so professional and accommodating.
Good food, nice variety of drinks, friendly service. We went with a group of 12 and they accommodated us with no problem.
Such a diverse and tasty menu for a smaller place.
Everything looks and tastes great. Huge beer selection.
Must try the mushroom pizza and the jerk chicken plantain pineapple salsa green chili quesadilla!
I live in Old Northeast and I can't say enough about this local restaurant. Such a great neighborhood pub. They only serve beer and wine but the food is AMAZING.it's impressive how good the food is. I stop by at least once a week. Great friendly staff that always have a smile on even when they are slammed busy. If you are in the area I highly recommend!
Nice local bar. The Waitress was very friendly and humorous. The atmosphere was very good, and the pizza was to die for.
One of the best sandwiches I have had. I ordered a sandwich with artichoke hearts, prosciutto, and pepperoni. The bartender/server was attentive and helpful. I'll be coming back again
This place has sneaky good food. I got the protein salad and it was fresh, creative and impressive.
Hometown bar vibes. Really great spot!
We went there to get food that we seen online but the menu was a lot smaller the bartender said that they're still using the menu from 10 years ago to get people into the door so if you look online and you're expecting to get what's on this menu do not go there
We love Old Northeast Tavern. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service - thank you Shelby! Have never had anything to eat that we didn't enjoy!
I love this place, so please understand that this is a 1 star review because I really hope management sees it and tries to turn it around. This review is meant to be constructive criticism in the hopes of improvement.
I'm just going to say it, this place needs to be professionally cleaned from top to bottom. I did my best to look past the thick layers of dirt everywhere and dead bugs frequently found in the restroom, but I can't any longer. The straw that broke the camels back was a thick clump of mold that I found in a draft beer. The lines are obviously not being flushed. And I should have know they aren't. If you're leaving dirt and bugs where you know customers can see it, you're obviously not cleaning what we can't see.
Please, clean this beloved bar up. It's to the point where you really ought to close for a couple days and bring in professionals. Your food is excellent and your staff is stellar. I hope this is received in the spirit it's intended, helpful and well-intentioned.
Food was great, bartender was having a bad day.she let you know it. So when your sitting at the bar having lunch it's not a great experience.
I've been wanting to try his place and I finally had a chance to with a friend. It's a great neighborhood dive bar where everyone seems to know everyone. The bartender and clientele were friendly and fun to talk to. They have a surprisingly great selection of draft beers with lots of imports from Belgium, Canada, Germany, and probably some others. I'd go back just for the beer.
They used to have really good pizza. Idk what happened. Food was worse than “bar food” this visit. Haven’t been there in a few years and I won’t be back unless it changes ownership or something. If you go for beer it’s fine, but definitely don’t plan on a good bite to eat.
Great option for food and drinks in the Old Northeast neighborhood, just north of Downtown.
The bar is popular and homey. Food in the restaurant is tasty and priced fairly.
