Original American Kitchen (OAK), Gainesville FL

Oak was awesome! Atmosphere was so inviting! It was a busy Sunday mid morning so I sat at the bar. Bartenders were all very friendly and made sure I had all I needed!
I got the farmers breakfast and it was delicious! Bloody Mary was so good!

The food was okay. Ordered the chicken with waffle. Chicken was under seasoned and waffle was kind of hard. Had to send back the Benedict for overcooked eggs. It’s fine for Gainesville but don’t expect too much.

Pure Nasty the presentation is good but the food was disgusting and disappointing for the price. We waited almost an hour for it on top of that. I should’ve known and expected this by looking at the crowd that was there.
1st experience and I would never return, encourage, or recommend any one to dine there. Wish I could get a refund.

Definitely recommend the place (OAK) for cocktails!

Delicious food and great service. Inside had very little air conditioning and gets stuffy.

Desiree was great 200% service and was above and beyond! So good I had to let the manger know!

The service was great. The food was so so. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It's not for a big appetite, which is fine, but it was really greasy. The appetizer, the sweet potato wedges, could be better. I didn't think they were cooked well enough.

The food was fantastic and there many additional options on the menu I look forward to exploring. My only knock on the place was the open roll up door separating the bar from the outdoor seating. It was very warm inside since there are no fans and we had several flies bothering us while we were eating.

Nothing like walking into a restaurant on a 90 plus degree day to an 80 plus indoor seating area. Waitress said that she wished they would get fans. Poor thing. Water is nasty tasting tap water. Upon food arriving the flies starting swarming. I mean swarming. You would swat them away multiple times before you can even get the food to your mouth. Table next to us smacking hands together trying to kill them. He got a couple and had to go wash his hands. Hate to see what was going on in the kitchen. Smashburger was soggy and undercooked. Sweet potato fries were good! Won’t be back unfortunately.

Ordered take out salmon cakes and house salad. Received no utensils or napkins. Luckily I travel with utensils. Salmon cakes were dry and burned on one side attempted to covered with sauce. Only gave 3s due bartender service being attentive.

I had the chicken and biscuits and it was delicious. They have unlimited mimosas for $15 and they were delicious as well. As soon as my glass was empty the waitress was there refilling it without us having to wait or look for her. Best service I've had in a while and I wish I would've gotten her name. Definitely will be returning for brunch soon.

We both enjoyed our brunch very much! The service and food were excellent, it was just a bit too loud there to give five stars on atmosphere. I'm sure that there are many people who would thrive on the energy there.

Honestly didn’t have high expectations because the name of the restaurant isn’t very interesting but was pleasantly surprised. The appetizer of fried jalapeños was delicious. Cocktails were yummy & unique. Entree was tasty, hot, and speedy. Service was nice and attentive. Overall really good experience!

Love oak! Best drinks and food in Gainesville! Have always had a great experience with Sofia:)

If I am rating just the food, its actually probably a 4.5-5 star place. But my lord are they pricey for what you get.

It is good food with great food pricing. Which is a shame. The prices they charge are not worth the food you get. The burgers are good, grilled cheese is good, and the seafood is good. I've been many times and think the same thing, it's good food, but just too pricey for what it is.

I've been dying to wat here for months now. I tried their Saturday brunch. The duck eggs Benedict was delicious. Atmosphere is chic with great decor. Only thing I wish is that they played the original versions of songs instead of covers, but that's just my opinion. Will go back and try other tasty items!

So delicious, good drinks and food. But the WAFFLE so good it’s insane. Great service by the bartender, long blonde hair in a ponytail. She’s amazing, she deserves the world. 10/10 place
