8Nice easy trail for the morning. Trailhead at the pavilion at the back of the park, near the tennis courts. Trail was paved, although tree roots have taken over in some spots. Boardwalk out the water appears to have been re-done recently and is open! Highlight of the trail. Saw several birds and a larger wood stork looking for breakfast in the marsh.
Does anyone know if the trail's entrance has been moved or if the trail is no longer opened? I went today and the trail was gone, totally overgrown and could not be used. Thank you.
Update-I contacted the park. They said they would send someone out to clean and restore the trail.
Great park for kids and teens alike. In the entrance there are soccer and baseball fields. The trail itself is further back past a couple of speed bumps. Across from the baseball field on your left. It’s an enjoyable trail that’s a bit over a mile walk starting from the parking spot. Half hour at most for one time around. My 3 year old can pull it off.
We came here for the playground, which is pretty small, but got the job done. There aren’t any swings neither, which is my toddler’s favorite part of going to the park. I’m not sure where the trails are in comparison to the park.
We had so much fun, the staff was awesome and very helpful we are definitely coming back …. All the time
Beautiful walk. Went 1.6 miles and felt fantastic afterward. A mixture of boardwalks and paths. Loved the fact that my feet didn't get all dirty. Even took my mom in a wheel chair. Would highly recommend Ortega Stream Valley Trailhead.
Love this place but the nearby residents keep cutting off trees to build additions to their personal property. I wish there was a number to tip officials off because they're making the hiking trail look worse.
Big park with good playgrounds (1 is being replaced 2022/2023) Plenty of parking. Trails beautiful with lots of shade and not crowded. Dog friendly; must be leashed. Nice tennis courts appear to be free. Downsides: though there are plenty of trash cans, too much trash around where the most people are, trails don't have maps or informational signs, wouldn't recommend solo trail walking.
