Outpatient Center - University of Miami Health System reviews
13 The worst ever experience and high level of incompetency among nursing staff and doctors. Despite the horrible experience the neurosurgery staff is outstanding and big kudos to Doctor Shaa and the rest of his team.
We came to UHealth Miami because we believe it is one of the greatest hospitals in the area. After the VP shunt was revised by the neurosurgery team, which was done outstandingly, the real problems began.
The nursing staff is mainly inexperienced. The other issue is not enough nurses and nurse assistants over the weekend. As a result of incompetence and lack of attentiveness, my mother had an aspiration event that could be completely prevented, which resulted in us ending up in ICU on the day we had to be discharged. My mother thankfully survived but had additional complications. In addition, the nursing staff was obligated to turn the patient every two hours which has not been done and as a result, my mother has developed bedsores and wounds.
The physical therapy and occupational therapy are the joke, while we were at the hospital for almost two weeks we only had physical therapy once and no occupational therapy. The speech therapy was very minimal, two times 3-5 minutes.
After ICU we were transferred to the PH South floor where I requested three times to talk to a doctor and review the medication that was prescribed to my mother to understand their reasoning. Despite my requests, I never had an opportunity to talk to a doctor about medications. As I found out later the same medication as we had in ICU was prescribed to my mother even though she hasn't needed them.
Almost forgot to mention that I was escorted by security on the night my mom was admitted to the ICU even though my mother was life to dea ath condition. Later at 2: 30 am, they called me that my mother's condition worsen and that I can come back to the ICU. Can you believe it?
Overall they helped my mother initially but we almost didn't survive the recovery time at the hospitals and had numerous complications due to incompetency across all levels (nursing and doctors). If you go there do not rely 100% on the stuff! Advocate for your loved ones and question everything from treatment to medication, and hopefully, you will have a better experience.
Very inexperienced stuff, including nurses and doctors. Lack of attention and attentiveness.
Terrible experience, if you want to save your family member, do not take them to that hospital, you can lose your life in hours.
The truth is that such a good experience, Dr. Melody treated my grandfather and it was so good…. He has the hands of an angel and I explain everything to him with so much love
Thank you very much for making your work save so many little people.
Only let children and grandchildren in to see their injured family members for 1 specific hour per day. This place is inhumane. Shame on whoever put this rule in place.
Absolutely no problem with the doctor in the clinic. University of Miami Health billing is absolutely the worst. I have been trying to resolve a co-pay bill of $35 which I paid in the clinic before the doc would see me. I have called and sent my CC statement of payment numerous times. They continue to send me bills and just turned me into collections. BEWARE billing department is incompetent.
I am a physician who went to UM Sylvester for help. The doctors and medical staff are great. The billing dept and customer service is singularly the worst I have ever had to deal with. They just flat out lie to you about doing things. Horrible place. Wish I had gone somewhere else.
Avoid U Miami Health if you possibly can. They are all about the money, and will screw you any way they can.
Be ready to get a fat bill, even if you have a $0 deductible and the insurance already paid thousands for that visit, there will ALWAYS be a few thousands left that they will bill you. I am talking thousands of dollars for a 2 hour visit!
This clinic gave me my life back, from my country they told me that they could no longer operate on me and another clinic in Miami confirmed the diagnosis. And U-H from the hand of Dr. Sharma gave me a new opportunity, safety of the
diagnosis and they kept their promise to save my life with a very risky surgery. They are an extraordinary team. Today I am alive thanks to Dr Alam Livinston and Janiki Sharma.
Inconsiderate people. I have been waiting 6 months for my daughter to be seen by a neurologist to be told a month before her appointment that the doctor "wont be in that day" so I have to be re-scheduled to March 2024.
All I can say is thank you for the great service. I went to the ER due to some unknown pain. I was attended fast and nurse, Cynthia was great. I have nothing but great things to say about the service and staff. Keep up the great work!
