Palm Beach Sailing Club reviews
16Very friendly and helpful staff. Anita helped us out when we were having dingy problems. Such a very supportive and welcoming group of people. My kids love it here.
As a member going on more than six years, I have witnessed a remarkable change of our Club. Yes, not long ago the grounds looked like a post apocalyptic boat graveyard. The south wall was falling down, trees un trimmed, old fuel containers, debris, etc. That has changed. The grounds are still a work in progress but we look like a proper club again. Staff changes have been made. Our new Commodore is an experienced ocean sailor and advanced ASA Instructor as well as an executive in the Commercial Maritime Industry. Sailing with a capital S is our main priority. Our ASA School will soon be fully staffed and equipped with a small fleet of J-22 keelboats. Our kitchen and catering facilities are being refreshed. And there's rumor we may even retire the fax machine. Four stars for attitude and change. One important star to go: When we become one of the first thoughts you have when someone asks, "Know any great sailing clubs in the area? "
Members are very friendly but this club is not cruiser friendly. $40/day with 3 day minimum for access to the dinghy dock, showers and a bar that is open 3 nights a week. We anchored across the channel waiting for a weather window to cross to the Bahamas and paid for 3 days but day 3 was horrible weather so going a shore wasnt an option. The next day we went ashore to ask if we could get credit for the day lost. No credit given, so two club members offered to have us stay as their guest as it was a night the bar was open. Fast forward mid week and another member invited us in as the bar was open and we accepted only to be dressed down by the commadore who explained it was extremely costly to run the club, they had had bad experiences with cruisers pre COVID and if we wanted to come back we would need to pay for more days. Sorry but $120 for 3 days of dinghy dock and a shower is pretty crazy. Clearly they do not want cruisers unless they have money to burn.
Changing of the watch. Many past Commodore came for this special event. Congratulations to Alex the new Commodore of 2023!
Went there for weds nite food
tacos were outstanding
sat at the bar
PLEASE before you get a drink ask to see glass looking for cleanliness
whoa/yuck!
many many dirty plus w lipstick marks
they need an automatic glass dishwasher at th bar
(my daughter is a bartender for many years and told me always ask to see glass)
We participated in the visiting yachtsman program at PBSC last winter and will do so again this year. What a wonderful place. The resources they offer through that program for cruisers like us are so helpful, and it provided us an opportunity to very quickly make friends in a new community. The staff are so accomodating, and thoughtfully bring you into the family. I highly recommend this clean, friendly, and active club to all sailors.
Friendly folks with clean facilities good food and atmosphere. Their hospitally, passion for sailing, and available sailing/social programs made it an easy decision to join the club.
They are the worst rudest staff in the world with the exception of the lady just inside the door she is lovely. Alli, the boss, called me a piece of xxxx. I talked to many members while I'm there and they all agree if you have a choice go somewhere else.
An extraordinary place where individuals and families can share the wonders of sailing with or without boat ownership. Located on the intercoastal waterway near Lake Worth Inlet it is affordable with lessons and programs for all.
Great and friendly people filled with knowledge, I'll be coming back and hope to become a member.
Don was a excellent Instructor, waiting for more to sail with him again. Great knowledge and great stories to tell.
This place, and more so, Alley is great! She helped me without even knowing me or meeting me.
Thanks for helping a young sailor!:)
Great place to sail. Sailing programs are well run with a new Director inspiring both adults and kids to sail and race. Nice bar and kitchen serves good food.
We belong to the Palm Beach Sailing Club and keep our dinghy there for ready access to our sailboat which we keep in the mooring field. The club members are friendly and facilities are pleasant. The club has an active sailing program that attracts many delightful children.
Poor experience with sailing camp. We signed up for a week of camp. Counselors were not attentive to children. Children were left ignored while counselors were on their phones. One counselor was using harsh language with children. Also, my child had an allergic reaction while in camp and did not receive any care nore I was informed of the situation. Office did not follow up on returning my calls. Very disappointing.
Beautiful spot if you enjoy sailing. Awesome people and the bartender, Sean is fantastic and makes everyone feel at home!
