Palm Garden of Vero Beach

I have visited loved ones in a few different centers and this one is by far the best. I judge a center by asking, "would I bring my mother here"? And it is a big yes for PGVB. Writing those negative, one-star reviews only means that you would not have been happy anywhere. Palm Garden of Vero Beach is by far the best. Forget about stars, take care of your loved one.

We were hopeful after expressing concerns to the assistant director. Disappointment returned 72 hours later when basic medical management & training wasn’t fixed as promised. Staff does not monitor glucose. Mother has to beg for oxygen even with the order in the system. She’s had several low glucose episodes all alone in her room because they dose too much and don’t check pre and post meals. Medication delivery is…interesting. She has meds that have to be taken with food but they can’t manage to deliver meds with meals. One night her evening meds came at 11pm when she needed them for dinner at 5. My weak mother is so fed up and scared of their insulin dosing and not keeping her oxygen up that she requested to transfer. The staff do not treat my mother the way they would treat a young person. She is ignored when she has a direct request (we’ll get to it…”) and ignored when walking in the hallway & says hello to people. This place does not have cardiac or dialysis or diabetic food options or care. She’s gotten weaker after 5 days there. I picked it based on reviews and the options the social worker gave me. I wish I got a home nurse. She would have gotten way better care without the stress. Oh, and this place does not answer phones. So if your family member has a serious condition, you can’t call them to check or verify dosing.

My sister is there only a couple days and she loves it so far. The staff is awesome. My only issue, and it has nothing to do with the facility or care, is I can’t get through to talk to someone about questions I have. I am put through to the nursing station and cut off when no one answers, ie can’t leave a message even. No one has returned my call from the business office either. But I’ll keep trying. So grateful she is some place so nice. Thank you

I want to thank everyone at Palm Gardens of Vero Beach. The kindness, compassion, respect, sensitivity, and empathy towards both my parents has been a clear quality of well trained and directed staff.
Words can hardly express the appreciation I have for the personal staff that cared for my mother when she passed. I am very grateful for the continued care my father is receiving to this day.
Thank you to each staff member that personally assisted me when I first moved both my parents into the facility. Made the move seamless and comforting. I highly recommend Palm Gardens of Vero Beach!

Like most of you reading this, my Auntie focused only on the high ratings and figured this place would be safe for my grandma. However, we should have checked the low ratings, espcially the most current ones, as they serve as a valid warning.

Upon further observation, it’s evident the people there see nursing as just a job, no customer service skills, no care for their patient and absolutely disgusting, disturbing, and disrespectful work ethics. During my visit, the nurses (if you can call them that) where rude and one even rolled her eyes when we asked her to bring my grandma some water and check her position in bed.

The response time after pressing the help/call button was LIFE-THREATENING; it would sometimes take over an hour! The nurses had a horrific habit of ignoring patients; my grandma would ask for pain medicine (prescribed to her), and they would simply ignore her, so she would lay there for God knows how long in pain.

Furthermore, unless told, I don’t think my grandma got fed, changed, and essentially taken care of. This was evident when she had to go to the hospital because her condition worsened.

Imagine your grandma is none responsive, and these “_” don’t even give you a call (you read that right)! Instead, you find out by going to her room (which has already been replaced with someone else), and it’s like pulling teeth for them to tell you what hospital they took her too, unacceptable!

Then, at the hospital, the doctor discovers and tells you your worst fears; my grandma had severe bed sores because they didn’t change her often enough, so instead of getting better at Palm Garden, they were making her worse due to lazy and inhumane personnel, truly unforgivable!

At the end of the day, you can read this review, ignore it, and risk your loved ones staying here, or let our experience (as well as others) be your saving grace and not risk it!

We will not be returning and are seeking legal advice against Palm Garden.

The care here is stellar. My sister is treated with so much compassion and understanding from her recent stroke. The team is knowledgeable and provides all the needs of my sister. One particular nurse stands out constantly. Her badge reads "ROC". She keeps that place going. She also goes above and beyond her craft providing updates on the progress of my sister. Kudos to the team, doctors, and especially her.

My family member was at Palm Garden. All I can say is thank you to all the staff who supported him and us as a family. The staff is very friendly. Palm Garden made it possible for my uncle to come home. Thank you!

5 Stars for Palm Gardens! My family and I are so thankful our aunt was able to stay at Palm Gardens of Vero Beach during the last chapter of her life. She had so many wonderful things to say about the care she received, along with the special times she enjoyed with the staff and the friends she made there. I was able to meet some of the staff as well, and found them all to be extremely kind and helpful, especially Carol - who went above and beyond the call of the duty many times to help our family. Thank you!

I go back to this amazing beautiful peacefully place each year cause it makes me feel at home. People it’s very very friendly, kind and seem happy. Food it’s great. My favorite restaurant it’s Vero Beach's Premier Steakhouse & Eatery. The blue water remains me of back home and their beaches are gorgeous.

Roc makes this place great. She is a superstar, when I open my own company, she will be the first person I hire.

Awesome facility and especially to Roc that really goes over and beyond to ensure everyone that everyone is doing good.

5 Stars for Roc. Any time you need something she is there. She listen to me talk for 10 mins about my new Crochet pattern.

Chef was excellent and accommodating. Nursing staff for the most took very long to answer call bell and give medication. Not all some came early. Therapy department was excellent. My therapist were Heather and leleanne. We're very good.

My Aunt is being cared for in this facility and after a recent visit with her I must say that I am very pleased. The staff is very friendly and they go above and beyond. Very clean place and the food was amazing too!

When I first walked in to Palm Garden of Vero Beach I was greeted immediately. Staff were very attentive and helpful with any of my questions.

I can not believe how bad the place is.
There not clean at all. It gross me out. The CNA is rude and doesn't check the Patient every hour. I had to tell CNA my uncle needed be change and she tell me he fine. It really bad place. I don't like how they run the place. Oh.the place smell so bad. I feel like I'm going to puke. Please do not put ur family in this place because this place is not safe for them at all. I'm being honest my uncle Fell out a wheelchair with nobody around him. So I'm very disappointed of them. He is not going back there again and ever.
