As an ems provider this place has always been one of the worst places I’ve responded to. Always dirty! Pt care has always been lacking.

I have been trying to contact my father for the past 3 days and cannot get through to anyone. When I am able to speak with someone, call gets cut off. My father is blind and an amputee. I have sent a letter to this center and no reply. I’m concerned especially considering my father’s delicate health. Not seeing him is bad enough already. They always seem to have issues with their phones.

Yesterday I was a little frustrated about how events were unfolding at the Parks and expressed my feelings
However I was very lmpressed and grateful to
Ms Claudia Jennings (the unit manager) for how she gracefully adressed my issues.im happy that we both understood each other
As I leave this rehab center I would also like to thank nurse Kim for her amazing assistance and care and nurse Dorothy for her special care towards me these ladies work with their heart
Lastly I would also like to thank the cleaners food runners and gym staff for their friendly demeanor

I have been a short term resident at The Parks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. I have been given great care from all the CNAs and Nurses. They really go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met. The therapy department worked with me to meet my therapy goals and I feel confident in returning home. Activities and Dietary have made sure I am comfortable on a daily basis. Lastly I would also like to thank all the staff and various Doctors for helping me in my recovery and transition from the hospital to the The Parks and now home. Thank you for all you do!

My mother was sent here from Volusia county as there were no beds available at the time.
I can’t say all of the employees care but there are a few who go above and beyond the call of duty!
Samantha from social services was very kind and very approachable. She helped a lot to make sure mom was set at home with everything she needed and even called me a couple of days later to check up on her and to offer further assistance if needed.
Luis from maintenance was great! He made sure that he came by to see mom every day he was scheduled to see if she needed anything. That meant a lot to us.
Linda (Nurse from the East wing) very kind and a great human being as well as Jenny who vas very helpful when I would call for updates about mom.
Jasmin (CNA) cared for mom like a daughter always making sure before her shift was over that she would make sure mom was comfortable and to make sure mom was taken care of by the next person.
Angie (CNA) a sweetie and so was Miss Jackie.
The biggest problem with the center is that after hours it would be horrible to get someone to answer the phone. Also, there are some employees who really are only there for a paycheck!
To those who I mentioned THANK YOU! And if I forgot anyone please forgive me.

This place looks more like a homeless shelter then a nursing facility. This is not a place were elderly people would feel comfortable nor receive all services needed. It is very dirty and outdated I am shocked it's still allowed to be running in the conditions that the facility is in. If you care about your family member please tour this place before moving your loved one here.

The facility use to be a wonderful place for residents and staff both, but the current administrator at the facility has very few managers left all because she is cold, condescending, rude, and entitled. The administrator rarely comes out of her office to interact with the residents or families and on the rare occasion that she does, she is only looking to point out to staff what she feels they are doing wrong. Residents ask to see her and she cannot even visit her residents. Staff get no words of praise or kindness from the administrator. She has been removed from other nursing homes, including a facility owned by Consulate, but I guess the Parks was desperate. She does not create a home like environment for the residents as she incessantly loudly pages her management team all day to come to her office only to wait outside her door until she is ready to bring the staff member into her office to help her do her job for her. Staffing is at sub par levels and she demands the DON, ADON, and 1 unit manager she has left to be on a nursing cart causing them to be overwhelmed and over worked, plus the actual few floor nurses she has left are consistently asked to work without any time off. If corporate cared, they would see staff who have worked at the Parks for years are leaving at an alarming rate. The residents deserve WAY better and that is who suffers. Shame on Kim Lane. Karma shall prevail.

I was employed here last year and have been thinking on how I wanted to respond to the way I was treated during my employment. I will start off and say that the administrative office is by far THE most uncomfortable place ever. The business office manager, Amanda, constantly talked about anyone who came in to the office. Amanda was THE WORSE manager that I’ve ever had. I’m sure this will be seen as angry because I was fired but I can explain that as well. When I got the news about the interview I was very excited because I worked at a skilled nursing facility in Georgia before moving to Florida. Fast forward I had the interview and Amanda claimed to have liked me, but all she could do was talk TRASH about the current assistant business office manager. I didn’t even know who I was filling in for but by the end of my INTERVIEW, I knew what happened during the hurricane, the lady’s kids, and how unruly they were. Amanda is by far THE MOST unprofessional being that I’ve ever worked with. She constantly talked about off topic things, none of which correlated to the job at hand. I knew about her family life and her struggles with her kid and her’s relationship but nothing pertaining to me remaining employed. The first time I was told that I wasn’t doing “my job” was two months after being employed. Amanda and I shared an office and spoke EVERYDAY and she didn’t tell me ONCE that I wasn’t doing what she expected, of course I never knew my expectations because they weren’t told to me. I was trained how to do a job by the previous ABOM and that’s what I did. Amanda complained about my phone except she was on her phone just as much. I knew more about her romantic relationship than again, about my position. The other staff members in different depts were cool. The administrator was just as bad. He and Amanda apparently discussed me but it was never a meeting with what needed to be corrected it was about the complaining that Amanda did. The second meeting even after getting approvals and doing what was asked of me the first time and still got fired because my performance wasn’t “up to par” which again I was blindsided because nothing was told to me otherwise. The administrator doesn’t interact with his staff to know what’s really going on. I was there for a few weeks and could see the unhappiness and pettiness between departments. People constantly talking about each other. Not a good environment and the residents will let you know that the staff doesn’t tend to their needs. And the list could go on although I love the elderly being fired from here was a blessing because I found my calling. If you’re considerinf DON’T

This place is a pit. If you love your family member stay away. They tried to kill my father. They sleep deprived him. Overdosed his medications and gave him other medication that made him bonkers. Then they call the sheriff to baker act him for "dementia" which he didnt have before he went in to the parks. He was OK before he went in there. They left him soaked in urine when he was able to use the bathroom. Wouldn't allow him out of his room for walks meals or to use the bathroom. This facility is filthy and the beds are from 1940. Have to ask for showers and keep bugging for basic human care. Some staff is OK and kind most are rude and unresponsive and some are downright mean. The therapy staff is ok if you stay in there and make sure they do their job otherwise they bring them down for rehab and sit them down and talk between themselves. They dont talk to the patients or engage with them when they see you are there they suddenly talk and interact. My father is out now fully functioning and healthy and sane no thanks to the parks.

Please! If you love your family member, don't send them here. The staff (CNA, tech) are abusive and untruthful. The administration are worse.
