I've had many Doctors throughout my life, but he is the one that beats all! Excellent, compassionate and understanding Doctor and staff. So thankful to have Him on my side!

My sister goes to this practice and says that while the doctor is fine, the practice itself is not helpful. They do not return phone calls and the excuses are that they are understaffed. Seems like Advent just likes to get as many patients in as possible and not help established patients. She says the exam rooms have signs posted that say you can only discuss one issue for the visit. Not very helpful when you don’t know if your symptoms pertain to one issue or not. I advised her to find another practice that cares about their patients.

Dr. Bucolo and his staff were refreshing after the last few years I’ve experienced with healthcare. He and his staff conducted themselves professionally and with a kind attitude. He was easy to talk to and easy to understand. He seems to be cut from the same cloth as doctors I’ve seen through out my life before for profit healthcare became the monster it is today. He cares about his work and it shows. I’m happy to have him as my primary

I’ve been waiting for my appointment since January! The only available appointment they had was today April 14th. Not to mention the confirmation text that’s sent before the appt doesn’t include a address. Has a number to call but once you call the number and press two for Dr. Bucolo it directs you to another doctors receptionist. They then transfer you to the the front desk where no one answers. The automatic system on the phone asks you to leave a voicemail. Which was useless in this case because my appointment is today. I had no choice but to Google advent health New Smyrna. Which lead me to the actual hospital. So I was late arriving to my appointment due to Dr. Buculo receptionist miscommunication. The only reason I arrived at the correct address, is because of the receptionist at the hospital politely called Dr. Bucolos office and informed them that I was at the wrong location and I’ll be heading to them now. She also provided me with the right address. Which was so nice of her. Upon arrival which was 4: 23pm they tell me that he won’t be able to see me because I’m late Which was NOT my fault. Also, stated new patient has to arrive 15 minutes which I was NEVER told by them or my insurance. I took off work early today just to drive 30 minutes to Dr. Bucolo. Again, I have been waiting since January for this appt. They didn’t have not one inch of sympathy for me and just told me his next availability was July. That’s ridiculous! By far the worst experience in my whole 20 years of breathing! Do not recommend this doctors office!

I've been to way too many doctors and they've all been rude, in a rush, and blamed any and all of my problems on me being slightly over weight. Dr. Bucolo may be a little busy and you may wait a little bit before you can see him, but honestly I'd say it's worth it, he is very kind, empathetic, and a great listener. He actually cares about what you came there for and wants the best for you.

Disappointed that my husband, who is an established patient, can not get in for a sick visit for 2 months. Very concerning. Will have to find another general practitioner.

Our family recently relocated from the Winter Springs area to New Smyrna Beach. I have tried to establish myself, my disabled son, and my husband with a Primary Care Physician in the New Smyrna area. I have been on waiting lists, only to be told it could be up to a year or more to get in to see and get established with a primary care doctor. This has been mostly with Advent Health Doctors. Last Summer I went ahead and set up appointments with Dr Paul Bucolo for my self in October, and my son in November. We kept our appointments and got established as patients of Dr Bucolo. We waited in his office a very long time before we were seen. When the Dr came in, on both visits, we were very happy, and felt we had made a good decision with who we had chosen as our new Primary Care Doctor. We left his office with an appointment for a year away, and with the idea that if we were sick, or needed our Dr we would be able to get in to see him. Last week I called to get in for what I thought might be a sinus infection, and problems with low blood pressure. That was Tuesday March 1st. I was told he was scheduling appointments for late May, but they would have someone from the office call and try to get me in sooner. Thursday, March 3rd, someone from Dr Bucolos office called and told me I should go to an Urgent Care if I had a problem and they did not have access to the Dr’s schedule until Monday, March 7th. They would call me back at that time if I didn’t go to an urgent care. Today is March 8th, and I have not received a return call. My question is, why did I get set up with a PCP if I’m only told to go to an urgent care if I have a problem?
Today my husband had an appointment to get established with Dr Bucolo. He arrived 30 minutes early as requested for his appointment. He was called back to a room where they took his blood pressure and told him that the Dr would be in shortly. He waited for over an hour, no one came back in the room, and he finally walked out without anyone speaking to him.
If this Dr can’t take care of established patients, why does he continue to take on new patients? I would really like for someone to contact me, since I’m not able to get anyone from the office on the phone.

I am so happy to have found Dr. Bucolo. He's thorough, empathetic, patient and listens.

The very best medical/family Dr. I have ever had. Listens, thorough, and is not quick to push you out for the next patient. I am an hour away, but I trust him with my health!

After a few appointments with this guy, I have to say he is on the ball. Definitely my choice of Doctors in the N. S. B. / Edgewater area.

Yesterday I called with an urgent health matter. My regular doctor had left the practice to have a baby so I was faced with having to start over as a new patient with Dr. Bucolo. Rather than putting my visit off or sending me to the ER, the office staff worked with Dr. Bucolo to fit me into his schedule. Although he was pressed for time, he spent almost 30 minutes with me to assess my condition. He is cheerful, smart as a whip and thorough. Most importantly he is a great listener! Many thanks to the staff and Dr. Bucolo!
