Paws Paradise Pet Grooming, Port St. Lucie FL

I take my two golden doodles to see Aja and both have very different coat types and they always come out looking amazing. We like to keep them short but not shaved (short but fluffy) due to the consistent warm weather here in Florida and Aja hits the mark every time. We even had a temporary eye problem with our male doodle and Aja made sure to pay close attention to his eyes and trim his face a certain way to ensure his hair wouldn’t irritate his eyes further and allow us to properly medicate his eyes without making his hair all yucky for the next 6 weeks. We get tons of compliments on their haircuts when we are out in public and they smell so good when they come home. I know they are in great hands at the salon with Aja!

I am writing this review solely to prevent what happened to my dog to happening to someone else's.
I gave 2 stars because while the staff were lovely and nothing but kind to me, they unfortunately did something irreversible to my dog.
I recently moved to PSL from New Jersey, and I had been bringing my pomeranian to the same groomer since she was a puppy. I was terrified to go to a new groomer down here, and rightfully so.
The very first time I brought my dog here, she was shaved.
I feel like as a professional pet grooming business, it should be standard knowledge to know which breeds of dogs cannot be shaved.
Right before I left NJ, I had gotten my dog groomed so I wouldn't have to worry about it for awhile. I always had her groomed every 5 weeks. When I found this salon, her appointment fell right around the 5-6 week mark since her last groom. When I received a text saying she was done, I could see from the image just how short her hair was. I tried not to freak out until I saw her in person, but unfortunately it was exactly what I had feared.
When I came to pick her up, I asked why they ended up shaving her when I had literally shown her a message from my previous groomer explaining exactly how she used to be done, and they told me that they "couldn't even get a brush through her" and her fur was too difficult, so they decided to shave her. Without even calling me, asking my permission, or anything. I would've preferred they just didn't groom her at all than that.
This all happened back in April, and as a chronic people-pleaser and not wanting to harm anyone's business, I didn't say anything and just found somewhere else to go.
I don't mean to harm the salon, I can see by other people's experiences that they do good work, it's just unfortunate that this happened to my dog. I decided to write this now because it has been 8 months since this happened, and yet, her fur has never been the same. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but it's just devastating. As someone who prides myself on giving my dog the best I can, always keeping her appointments and everything she needs up to date, I just don't understand why this happened to her.
Moral of the story, if you know that your particular dog cannot be shaved and you do decide to bring them here, make sure you are extremely vocal about not allowing them to be shaved. Let them know you would rather they not service your dog than shave them. I thought I had made that clear, or at the very least I would've thought they would've called me to ask if I was okay with them doing that to her which I would've been able to tell them I was not, but I never got that chance.

Again, the staff was extremely friendly and I don't mean them harm. The only thing I hope from sharing this is saving someone else's dog from having irreversible damage done to their coat.

Wonderful experience with Paws Paradise. We love supporting local business and the owner runs a first rate shop.

We loved that she sticks to a schedule and listens to you and the dogs. Also really appreciate that she texts updates so you can plan accordingly.

Aja, the groomer (likely also the proprietor), was able to completely trim my dog’s paws seamlessly. My canine was oblivious the entire time. Truly impressive. Highly recommended!

While my puppy is over there, let me leave these people the most AMAZING review. I showed up to the spa at closing. I explained to her that I had an emergency with my dog who was extremely matted and needed a grooming badly. I was desperate because earlier this morning, I dropped my dog at his previous groomer at 8am to receive a call hours later telling me they couldn’t do it. This amazing lady although she was closed told me she would take my baby in something she’s never had done before. Her gentleness and the way she empathized with me was out of this world. I decided to put this review before picking up my baby. I will post another one about the service once I get him. Please do not hesitate to use them. She was kind, considerate and took my dog in for service even though she was closed. I truly appreciate her. My baby just found his forever groomer.

They do a excellent job grooming my dogs.wouldn't go anywhere else! My dogs always look and feel great after there appointment! And they don't come home stressed from there appointment.

I love the way the owner is attentive, cares about detail, she is good at what she does and she is very professional. I trust my precious dog in her hands. I’m so grateful I found her!

Have been taking my dog there for sometime and I tell you she is the best, my dog is so use too getting his nails cut, she is great and accommodating,

I went to asked at Paws paradise after a not to pleasant experience with the previous groomer. I stopped by to ask for services and the staff was very friendly and the prices affordable so I decided to give it a try… very happy with the results, my little fur baby looks so cute, he used to be scared at groomer but this time he came out happy and well, thank you for all you did, I definitely will recommend paws paradise for grooming to all my pet parents friends.

Paws paradise did a phenomenal job on my shadow, he was over burdened with his summer coat shedding and the ladies got right on it. They were professional and prompt and in communication the whole time sending pictures and updates. I’ll def recommend Paws paradise and even booked a second appointment.

I absolutely love paws paradise. If you love your pet this is the place to bring them! Not only are they very knowledgeable in pets and grooming; it was the best customer service and compassion I ever had! I had a horrible experience with prima vista animal hospital and called paws paradise in tears. She told me to come in to see what she can do for my dog that is 14 years old. Not only did she complete my dog grooming properly she was very understanding. This is definitely my new grooming home for my pet. She definitely can get the job done.
