Pelican Flight Training

Pelican Flight Training is a highly valued place for me. It is one of the few flight schools that offer F-1 visa support. I worked as an instructor there for about two years, both before and after graduating, gaining the right to work legally. I graduated as a Check Airman, with over 35 checkride recommendations and approximately 1900 flight hours. It provided me with valuable experiences as an instructor. I have had more than 20 students, Now I'm so glad that most of them are working as an instructor in pelican or the other school nearby

While there have been numerous complaints in previous reviews, I believe that everyone has different standards when it comes to evaluating a school, and it is impossible to satisfy everyone. When considering my personal experience as a student and instructor, I believe that the most important factor in becoming a good pilot is the quality of the instructors you encounter, and in this regard, Pelican Flight Training excels compared to other schools. Additionally, since the instructors are composed of foreigners, they have a better understanding of students who are also foreigners, which is a significant advantage.

I joined Pelican Flight Training in 2022 for my foreign licence conversion and upto MEI on an F1 visa.
Despite the negativity I heard about them my journey has been pretty smooth (in terms of training, finance, instructors, airplanes and checkrides).
Everything was pretty straight forward, transparent and well explained from day 1, and the International Student Coordinators helped me throughout the training and also with the visa process for my family (spouse and children) to be with me in the US during the training.

I was hired as a CFI here and got a chance to work in a dense environment.
I would like to thank Pelican again for giving me a platform to kickstart my Aviation Career in the US.

It is such a lie.

After considering several schools in the area I decided to stay with Pelican for number of reasons. First when I called to get initial information, administration took their time to respond to all my questions and scheduled my tour within a day. After arriving I was greeted by the school’s owner, who not only gave me a nice detailed course overview but also introduced me to current instructors/pilots. It was very nice to sit through their lectures to current students and then take a close look at flight simulators that are most recent and up to date. Instructors are prior Pelican school graduates and that is good to know! As a final stop for my day I was able to talk to the administration and get all necessary information to help finalize my choice.finally I’d like to mention I am from IN and considered local schools as well but after careful consideration and friendly environment I encountered I will go with Pelican.

I went there as an international students and the way they treated me, now I hate USA because of these people, first they lied about their aircrafts and when we got to know that they lied we told them to get i20 transferred to other flight school, they terminated our i20 without telling us, and that most unprofessional lady EMMA so called international student coordinator didn't even picked our calls stopped coming to school and when we tried to contact usa government and told them the whole truth none of them helped us and kept on saying u need to leave the usa asap

They take advantage of students with student visa, constantly stealing money. All the good reviews are from employees.

They steal from all international students, the good reviews are from company workers. They stole the money from 3 licenses and then they canceled my visa so I couldn't claim.

I trained here 30years ago and had to go back to see still the same loved the training and atc were allways freindly

This facility does not keep a track of the name of the students taking the course. If you lose your certificate or CPR you must pay again. Unacceptable""!

I told him that’s not what I was told and he raised his voice and said I can come back at 12 because all classes were full (I was the only person in the entire building there at 9am). I come back at 12pm (still no other person besides staff in sight) and a different staff member tells me it’s now $80 and it’s a 4 hour course and do not provide the legitimate certificate pertaining to that course,

Do not train your license here, they only waste your money, you may experience poor quality training and waste your money, they will say it is your problem, if you wanna get F1 you can go to college, you can get a degree and opt time don't waste money here they are going to wasting your money and time.

It was great during the pandemic when there were few commercial students. After 50 hours of prepaid private pilot instruction, they pocketed a few hundred dollars I had prepaid, then claimed I was on a 141 program. Beware of the bait and switch.also if you are a private pilot student, expect to get flights scrubbed for the commercial students.

Went too the competitor across the street and they had cancled our appointment with no update. I called pelican and Fernando said come on over. Took great care of us. My son was able to take his explorer flight on his birthday as planned. Great service from the front desk and in the air. Great job. Thank you. Will be back

We went for a discovery flight with Pelica Flight Training School not knowing what to expect. What we had was an awesome first flight in a plane, the flight was a lot more hands on than expected and became a memory to never forget and definitely try and repeat.
