Penny Lane Music Emporium reviews
19I can’t recommend the shop enough! I recently bought a Larrivee 00-40MH, and between the perfect setup and outstanding installation of the pick-up, I am 100% satisfied! I will be purchasing my next guitar from this shop. Exceptional customer service, and they had the guitar shipped out to me the next day.
I'm obsessed with this place. My boyfriend has to stop me from buying up all their Taylors! Great staff, very knowledgeable and personable.
I ordered two guitars from these folks, they were the floor items and I couldn't be more impressed. They were immaculate and the set up is great. I'm just so happy with both guitars. Thank you Penny Lane. I wish you were in NM.
I'd give more stars if it was possible.
Been “window” shopping for a while now and landed on Penny Lane. I took a chance and ordered a guitar from them and I’m happy I did. Quick replies, quick shipping, more than fair pricing - overall a wonderful experience. Def will be a returning customer. Christmas came early! Thank you, Armando!
I was visiting from Halifax Canada and stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Took in some live music and started chatting with Armando about Collings guitars, which was the main reason I came in. I had never played one before. He was sold out, but generously allowed me to play his personal one so I could get a feel for it.
He found it hilarious that owning Gibsons, Taylors and Matons I have never owned a Martin in my life. He showed me a couple I should try out and attempted to gently persuade me to buy one. I passed on them and bought a Martin hat instead. I joked "if the Martin hat feels good maybe I'll come back and buy a guitar from you". It was only a month later that I went online and bought the Martin he showed me from his store. Obviously the hat felt good, but the guitar feels even better. Thanks for turning me into a Martin fan! (like I didn't have enough guitars). Lol
Excellent packaging and shipping!
I was blown away by how helpful every member of the staff was, they were also attentive to my playing style and treat the instruments like newborn babies. I’m definitely going back and want to get one of their really nice banjos.
Just got my Eastman Mandolin today.love it.its the 4th instrument I've purchased from Armondo.always satisfied with customer service and quality of the instruments. I've purchased a Banjo. 2 Ukes.and now a Mandolin. Highly recomend Pennylane!
I wanted to order a custom acoustic guitar from Larrivee, and Penny Lane was the nearest dealer, so I went to check out the store. The store is beautiful, featuring many high end boutique guitar brands and models such as Collings, Larrivee, and Preston Thompson, along with larger, better-known brands such as Gibson, Martin, and Taylor. The staff-including (owner) Armando, Russell, and Stacey-could not have been nicer or more helpful. Over the year and a half it took to have my guitar built, the staff always responded promptly to my emails and answered any questions I had. They were knowledgeable, and were fair and honest to deal with. I would recommend Penny Lane without reservation for anyone looking for a guitar or in need of lessons or repairs. I was completely satisfied with the service I received at Penny Lane.
I discovered Penny Lane a couple of years ago and have been a customer ever since. The store is wonderfully unique in South Florida, both for the acoustic instrument focus and the friendly and helpful staff. Upon entering the store, you are treated as a friend by people who obviously love music. I brought in a treasured Martin guitar that my wife had purchased for me to have it looked over this past weekend. I had some concerns with the instrument buzzing when using a capo and thought that a change to the setup might be required. Though I was prepared to leave the instrument, they immediately began examining the guitar and after a very thorough analysis determined that it was the capo I was using and not the guitar. I am extremely pleased with the care taken with my guitar and after playing it the rest of the weekend with a different capo, it sounds amazing. The same level of care was also obvious in the setup of a guitar that I purchased from the shop a few weeks ago.
I recently bought a Martin 000-15M and needed a LRBaggs Anthem pick up system installed and thank God I came across this store and decided to give them a try; boy am I glad I did. The staff is super friendly, the store itself is open, well stocked and organized and most importantly the gentleman that I spoke with and installed my pickup system was a absolute professional. I could not be happier with his work. He even helped lower the action on my new guitar. Too bad I didn’t come across this store sooner. If you’re in town and in need of anything guitars, II recommend giving this store a shot before any other.
I was visiting from out of town and Armando allowed me to noodle on various ukuleles. I was interested in buying something but nothing grabbed me. The soprano Kamaka sounded great but the scale was small for my fingers. He even gave me a simple tip to improve my playing. Then Armando brought over aNueNue Koa Bird for me to try. I was faintly familiar with the brand. This instrument sounded so sweet and was something I would have never looked at. I'll be traveling home with a spectacular instrument. Not pushy, just a chill and relaxed vibe so I made a purchase that I won't regret. Thanks!
I came to Penny Lane I believe 3 years ago. I still remember the good experience I had and the excellent customer service I received from Armando.
This store appeared to have a nice variety & I was greeted w/a smile. I'm a 68 old professional, drove from Lake Okeechobee to visit this HARD-TO-FIND STORE. My FICO is quite high, Platinum AMEX & 3K cash in my pocket for an above average tenor though they can cost 10K+. I went to examine a Uke & the owner freaked out! "NO, NEVER TOUCH, I'll tune it & give it to you"; nice sales approach! Never again, will I ever walk into Penny Lane. I found his attitude & demeanor insulting, offensive & condescending; however, this is just 1 man's opinion.
Great staff! Very patient and knowledgeable. They take the time to make sure you're happy with your purchase. And pride in customer service.
I'm more than happy to spend my money at Penny Lane. Thanks guys!
I have purchased four banjos and two ukes from Penny Lane Emporium. The service is professional and informative. Penny Lane Music Emporium is my go to musical instrument shop when I am visiting my parents in south Florida. Hands down!
Awesome selection, friendly & knowledgeable staff along with competent service and repairs. My go to store for guitars, ukuleles & banjo’s!
A few weeks ago I found what I had been looking for at Penny Lane, online. A Collings oval hole mandolin, MT O. They post nice photos, and I fell in love at first sight with the cherry-burst finish. I don't like to buy instruments without playing them first, but I live three states away. So I just dove in and called. Armando was very helpful, and I ordered it. It arrived a few days later on the day he said it would. It was expertly packaged to prevent damage. When I opened the case, that new-wood smell was simply wonderful. The mando is more beautiful than its photos. And its chiming sound surpasses its looks. I keep it out of the case on a stand to play it any time of the day. I keep the case closed in the closet - I know the mando will lose that new-wood smell, but I hope to preserve it in the case, and take a whiff now and then when I hit a plateau! ;0) My thanks go to both Armando and to Collings for the best mandolin I've ever owned.
Picked up my PONO AT-CR Ukulele from Penny Lane at the height of the pandemic. First thing I used my stimulus money on. Best money ever spent. This Uku can truly speak! Armando Zuppa was great about having Uku’s out and ready for test runs. The selection at Penny Lane is the best in South Florida! Thank God!
I’ve been playing guitar on and off for some time now but I still have a lot to learn when it comes to differences and the general structure/build of guitars. This can make going to guitar stores a bit intimidating at times cause I feel like I don’t know enough about guitars and I don’t want to annoy the store employees with questions but Russell had a genuine interest and took the initiative to educate more.
I went in for my first time thinking I was going in ONLY for some maintenance on my guitar but I’d been thinking about getting a classical guitar for some time now. I spoke with Russell about the thoughts I’ve had regarding classical guitars and what I’d like out of a classical guitar while he was doing the maintenance on my guitar and within 2 minutes he had what I was looking for in my hands. I went back the next day for it.
I live in Fort Lauderdale, I will probably use this spot for any guitar related services I need and will definitely recommend it to people.
