Pepe's Cafe reviews
16The wait staff was extremely attentive. The menu had some of everything. The food was delightful.
Lunch doesn't begin till 12: 15. Tried to have breakfast, all out of specials. Got up and left.
We loved our breakfast at Pepe's. I've been here before but was a first for several at outer table. The staff was pleasant and efficient. They help one another, which is nice to see. I hope the new owners keep it up. They specials were a nice option. The food was hot and the coffee kept flowing.
The $2.00 Ying Ling draft is very good, but delightfully appreciated during $1.50 happy hour!
We were really excited to eat here as we did a lot of research and was told they had the best Key Lime Pie in the Keys, as well as was the oldest restaurant in the area.
We came in around 3pm. There were around three other parties there. It did not seem busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. When the waiter greeted us, she seemed very rushed and busy. We were understanding as she said she was the only one working. This was a strange statement as we seen two other waiters running around.
She got our drink order and returned about 10 minutes later. My mother in law order coffee and noticed that the mug had a lipstick mark on it. She didn’t drink the coffee as she was waiting on the waiter to return so she could let her know. About 12 minutes passed and we finally had to track down another waiter. They said “Lipstick is hard to get off now, sorry about that”. She brought her another cup.
We then ordered our food. My fish tacos were really good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the food. We then wanted to get dessert. We started asking questions to the waiter and she kept acting like she could not hear us, grabbed plates and walked off. Finally, my father in law got her full attention and we ordered dessert.
The Key Lime Pie was decent, but unfortunately, we found a blonde hair in the pie. We let the waiter know and the manager removed it from the bill.
Overall, I would have given at least 3 stars as it was good food, but the cleanliness and service was extremely lacking. I would encourage to walk a little further into town and experience some of the other restaurants available. There are a lot of really cool places there!
Always a great time! The atmosphere and service great! Go.again and again each time we visit Key West!
Excellent Food! So Fresh! Drinks fresh too with squeezed Orange Juice and fresh lime juice. Homemade desserts? Hidden Gem! Bartenders and waitstaff so friendly and attentive!
Although there was a wait it's very short and very well worth it. We stopped in for breakfast and it was piping hot! Fresh squeezed orange juice and excellent coffee. We will certainly return!
FANTASTIC BREAKFAST! Fresh squeezed Mimosa was perfect!
Can't wait to do Happy Hour Oysters!
Pepe’s is a regular stop for us
Happy hour oysters (best in KW).
Fish is always fresh buttery delicious.
I usually end my meal with
Coconut cream pie /key lime pie the best in KW - that’s a fact because I have tried most key lime pie around town-
If I am full I get a piece of the coconut pie to go. Upon finishing my dinner tonight, I ordered my usual coconut pie
To go, was totally shocked when the server informed me no coconuts or key lime pie. The new owners are trying something different- really you replace the best pie in town with carrots cake, red velvet cake — who does that?
This place was a real find for breakfast! My wife and I both had the French toast with fresh fruit. She added a side of bacon. She is a coffee fanatic and she said it was really good coffe. I opted for a mimosa and it was made with fresh squeezed oranges. Very unique place and we heard alot of locals say what a great place this was. As we waited for a table they had a small corner of merchandise for sale of t-shirts and koozies. If breakfast is any indication, this would be an excellent choice for lunch and dinner as well.
Had their Breakfast Burrito Special that day and it was delicious! Definitely will go back on my next trip down!
Food was well prepared but there just wasn't much flavor.maybe that's how they cook? Idk but we won't go back. Good service and environment
No good value for money. Too expensive for a piece of seafood and sides for $38? Not worth it.
Not much to look at from the outside but this place is a hidden gem. Great happy hour with inexpensive drinks & awesome food specials & good service! We'll be back!
