Pet Supermarket, Lakeland FL

I don't normally shop at this location and today was the proof of why. The associates passed by me with no intention of actually helping me, but they were quite busy gossipping by the animal cages.
I found what I needed, and checked out with a superbly rude cashier. She would have blended as a soviet bureaucrat.
I'm sticking with the competition. I have shipped there for years without a single issue.

Was originally happy with size of the store and selection of fish, but not so much now. All the fish I bought got sick and dCali. Also, they have hair algae growing on all the plants in their tanks. Confirmed all tanks share the same water. Feeder tanks had the floor covered in dead bodies. One plus, if they have bladder snails, they're free.

Sonya was sooo helpful and walked around the store and explained everything we needed to know about different pets. She is the bomb!

Nice staff, very helpful and pleasant. I love that you can bring your pet into the store. Of course, as is the case with any specialty store that carries a wide array of products to cater to customers who want items they can't just pick up at the local discount stores, it's a little pricey. But if your pup only eats refrigerated dogfood that's "fresh", then you have to expect to pay more.

I went to the S. Lakeland store (#159) thinking I would get my litter at the price of what was in my online cart. I hadn't actually made the purchase digitally, as I knew I'd be going by the brick-and-mortar location and would just pay at the register. Surprisingly, it was quite a bit more than what was in my cart, so associate, Scott, called the manager, Katie, over to see what could be done. They figured out I was shopping online at another store, but if I could find the price to show them, they'd match it. I searched on my phone, and when they confirmed that price really existed, they went one better and gave the litter to me at the upcoming sale price their store was advertising would occur a few days later. To put the cherry on the top, Katie and another associate brought the heavy cases of litter to my car. What could have turned out to be a waste of time and a lot of frustration, I am delighted to report became a really excellent customer service experience.

We go most days because my son who is 4 and on the autism spectrum loves the animals. The staff are always very friendly and attentive.

November 2019. I visited this location today and staff was really nice as usual but they are lacking in quality of life and pet care. I saw a hermit crab dead which happens all the time but I looked around in the enclosure and saw horrific neglect of basic care. Not only had the dead hermit crab looked like it had been there roting for atlest 3-5 days but the sea sponge in the water dish was completely black inside and out with black mold which takes about a month to happen. Gross abuse.

The associates were very helpful and can also direct you to the recommended vet for your pets to go to were they will be treated with care.

They had what I needed, the lady in the sm animal section was very helpful, the register fella was very nice and helpful.

My doggie lovesshopping here. Their Ultra dog food is super. Ultra snacks too.
Some staff needs to be kinder.

Overpriced and the staff was unhelpful. I was trying to ask where the cat toys were and the employee was standing a few feet from me and completely ignored me.

Store employees push certain brand dog foods on customers. Little do they know, the foods they recommend do NOT meet WSAVA criteria, have feeding trials, nutritionists or quality control when they develop their formulas. Your employees are NOT certified specifically in canine nutrition and should not argue with the customer that already has a wealth of knowledge on the matter. Ingredient & buzzword marketing vs. Science.l'll always choose Science. Thanks.

Great service, employees are friendly and nice. They also are very happy to assit you in finding the right food or whatever for your pets.

Pet supermarket has everything I need I got tons of advice for my fish/tanks my fish have been way better since I've been there

They have plenty of stuff for your animals and the staff are super friendly and helpful. What more could you want?

Great staff to help with dry goods but fish tanks circulation pumps were off and fish were gasping for air. Not sure I would buy live stock here.

Nice store with lots of dog, cat, pocket pet, fish items. Not so much for hermit crabs but basics. Staff helpful but not overly so
