Phở 97 Oriental Restaurant reviews
14Mom and pop pho! I enjoyed it and will most likely come here again when I'm the area.
The last time I ate there was with my family and relatives more than 8 years ago. It was below average so not until today that we decided to try again as my mom heard it's a different chef now. At a glance, the place doesn't look too pleasant if not dirty with worn out/peeling of faux leather chairs.
As usual, my brother gave me some disinfectant wipes to quickly clean the chair for my 3 year-old girl. There were bits of rice grains and who knows what kind of food left on that nicest-looking chair. The lady owner of the place rudely criticized my action which looked offensive to her as if she should done a better job. I tried not to get upset, but she went on with her unwelcoming/mocking comments, making sure about 8-10 present customers take a weird look at us. Of course I did not even sit down and got super annoyed, said "SERIOULY? ! " before we marched out of that place.
Even without the COVID thing, I am the type of person that must at least do a quick wipe before I sit down in regular restaurants (which doesn't happen too often as I'm very picky and we cook well at home.) Never before did I get mocked in such a narrow-minded manner.
Obviously the owner showed poor professionalism in conducting her business.
See you never again! Wish there were a zero star option.
They brought out a plate with hair on it, asked for them to remake it they just brought the same plate back in less than one minute. Horrible experience.
I had what probably was the worst food poisoning of my life from ordering chicken pho I have been sick for four days. I would rather be cut with razor blades, then feel the excruciating pain coming from my stomach and my intestines. I will never ever order from this place again.
Mom and I went for lunch. 2 steps in and we suspected we were in the wrong place. It's very dive. After looking at the sticky menu we decided to just get a snack and go eat elsewhere. I ordered spring rolls, mom got egg rolls. Both of us had beverages. My first spring roll was ok, the second tasted a bit off. About 3 hours later the gastric upset began. My mom informed me when she went to pay the bill a woman sitting behind the counter where the food was served from had her shoes off and her fingers entwined in her bare toes. This is now 36 hours later and I'm still suffering. I strongly recommend staying away from this dirty place!
Had the #15 on their menu and it had good amount of meat cuts. My fav was the spring rolls and the peanut sauce. The meat cuts are not the best but the fatty parts gave it flavor. I would give it another go.
Ate there last night, and the food is really good. You get a lot and prices are much better than in other places. It's a mom-and-pop type place. My favorite Vietnamese place in Pinellas Park.
I tried one of the soup that has seafood and pork and I git 2 shrimps. Plus the soup didn’t have flavor
Got bad food, the waitress was nice, but the cook gave me bad meat that made me sick. Never again. Place was dirty, unkept, funky smell too. I now go to Tasty Pho at 49th and Park, very clean, and well presented place.
Steer clear of Pho 97, its gross compared to others.
Hands down my favorite pho spot. It is always my go to. Been around for many years and the food has always remain amazing.
I was here many years ago and I wasn't impressed as inside was outdated. This time, looks like it got remodeled and it is comparable to others in the area. The menu is simple, but the price is significantly lower than their competitions. Overall, the food quality is good except for the rainbow ice, that is way below par, blend, cheap on ingredients, the ice is not even crushed. Also, this is the only place in the area offers beef stew. I saw the hours is opened at 7 am for breakfast, I probably will try it one day as I wonder what is Vietnamese breakfast.
Update - The second visit wasn't as good. Took away two stars. This time, the ingredients are very little also not much Pho (noodle) in the bowl. The portion is small even for a small eater.
I ordered sea food noodles which had dry pork and shrimp.i couldn't it I spoke to the owner but she ignored my question and didn't have any an apology. Bad food
This place is the real deal! I've been eating there for about seven years. The place itself decorum is nothing to look at.but the food is amazing, especially the PHO. I like it all but my favorite is the brisket with the tendon. Yum! Please go and don't feel intimated they are nice people.
