Niceties see it is reopened. Service was friendly and well staffed. Nice atmosphere, outside dockside patio fresh and clean. Docking is limited so get there early or dock at the marina. Food was good and reasonably priced. Good luck to the new owners! We will be back!

Went there once and that was enough. Service was just ok. Had the Ahi Tuna appetizer which was tiny and not fresh tasting. Also had the Grouper Nuggets which didn't look or taste anything like Grouper. Tasted more like a dirty fresh water fish. Didn't eat much of either dish.
Most reviews here are for Woody's which was here before

Been to the revamped Phuzzy's twice since it's been renovated and it's been the best! The coconut shrimp is hands down some of the best I've ever had. Everyone who works here is really hospitable and a manager always comes out to see how we're doing.

We love coming here by boat but today we drove.

Sat outside.
John was our water snd was very attentive and paid a lot of attention to our order and special requests were actually encouraged.
How to cook the shrimp
How to cook the grouper
Just alot of time and thought thank you John.

Fish tacos excellent good portion of fresh grouper
Salsa and slaw fresh and home made

I got the Greek salad with added shrimp
Salad fresh and plenty dressing was really good but only 4 little gulf shrimp in the land of shrimp they are cheap and maybe increase size or add a few for the up charge. They were fresh and plump abs delicious.

Also had a Caesar with grouper again an excellent salad.grouper 4 slices maybe 3 oz seemed small.

We order 3 corn and shrimp chowders $20

1 shrimp in each cup.

Again whimpy serving for 6.50 a cup and 7 a bowl
Real good flavor though just add a few shrimp and you have a fair value for the money.

Beer and wine was cold.

We love this place been coming for years snd will be back. Just need to pay attention to value for $ some customers get mad and won’t come back.

Life and restaurants are all relative to what, where, who, why, when, how and how much.
Some may question a 5 star rating on a restaurant and bar on a deep water canal, with covered outdoor seating on the water, or indoors in a highly decorated interior that smacks you when you walk in with, "Get comfortable guys, and stay a while" attitude.
It's in a small town, St. James City, on a sliver of land called Pine Island, which is just west off the straight between the eastward sliver of island called Fort Meyers Beach. But it's a very long Island by Gulf Coast of Florida standards, and Woody's is just a few miles from it's southern tip.
It's located just as you approach a fork in the road that predominantly takes you into residential and church properties.
Woody's is owned by the same folks that own the OFF THE CHARTS INN literally across the street on the point of the fork in the road, next to a realty office, which Hotel surrounds another canal with open access to the straights and the Gulf.
It's obvious that they take what they do very seriously, and their facility if immaculate. They are nice people to begin with and their employees are the same.

It's a menu of simplicity but items of high demand delivered REALLY FRESH made, and well plated. For the prices they charge, I've paid more for the bread basket in other waterfront restaurants. It may look like your typical small town waterfront place, but it's 100% better than it's competitors.
My locally sourced Dorado, Mahi on the menu name, was perfectly blackened and the portion was just as advertised, no cheating here on portion size. I think it was $14 for the platter, not a sandwich.
We had drafts which were freezing cold as they should be and a neighboring table about 18 feet away had margaritas that they thoroughly enjoyed. Again, drinks were about half of other waterfront places.

So, value, location, ownership, staff, instantaneous service, quality of ingredients, taste, quantity, the attitude toward customers, comfort:
yeah, when the points add up to a winner, on all counts, that's a A+ on any judges card so 5 out of 5 stars.
They are not competing here with the pretentious Five star restaurants in Tampa or Miami, not that kind of business on St. James City, and we would judge that on the same general qualifications but different because of what those places in those cities are Trying to be.
Woody's succeeds at being what it's supposed to be for the customers of this small, remote town.

Sign said seat yourself. Sat down. Got told, rather impolitely, we couldn't sit there. Left. It could've been handled better.

Only 3 stars here. Not because of the food! Food was great! Coconut shrimp, cold peel and eat shrimp, Shepard pie. Mmmm all was good. Great flavor. Service sucked. Waitress was un-attentive. Sat there over April minutes before she came to our table. Took forever to get our drinks and then she abruptly left. We were ready to order. When the kitchen runner brought our dinner to the table I asked for another beer. He says I'll let your server know. Well he didn't. 10 minutes later she walks by i say could I have a Coors light. It was 10 minutes later. Friends wife was getting impatient at the end because it took so long to cash out. Like I said though food was very good. But don't expect service to follow.

Beautiful waterfront views - fun watching boat traffic and pelicans fishing. Frequent live music, friendly wait service, delicious lobster crab bisque, sweet tea and the hugest baked pretzel ever! Very dog-friendly outside on deck with dog menu items!

Really good food, really nice atmosphere, very good service, good live music and would definitely be 5 stars EXCEPT they would not turn off the outside recorded music which was competing with the live music inside. This created a din (welter of discordant sounds) making it VERY unpleasant acoustically on the deck outside.

We had the bisque, it was hot, but when it was served it had a film on top like it had been sitting out. Asked for hot sauce and had to clean the top of the bottle before I could use it. Fish tacos (blackened) had no taste. Only water to drink was tap water which tastes terrible here. Red flag when we asked what was good the answer was "everything".
