Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza reviews
21Sat at the table over 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us or took our drink order. Every table around us was being served! Worst experience at a restaurant ever!
I’m constantly visiting Piesanos All the time because of their Customer Service, Atmosphere, and awesome staff! There are too many names I would like to thank for making this place so friendly and enjoying. From both the kitchen and serving team. Highly recommend Piesanos for friend groups, family gatherings, dates, or regular dine in!
Gluten free:
I ordered two gluten free pizzas which only come in a 10” size for 1 person.
The “old fashioned” one was a really thin crust with a very thin dry layer of sauce on it and literally a few pieces of cheese placed throughout. I was in shock that I paid $17+ something like this. Really insulting and mediocre. You should have seen it!
The “all American” one was okay with vegetables and cheese.
I ordered a side of fries and wasn’t told that those are not gluten free after thoroughly asking for gluten free menu items.
The parmesan cheese packets were flavorless tasted like cellulose or fiber. No cheese.
The gluten free crust tasted like cardboard and was undercooked both times.
Husband had to go back in and return/fix the fries and the old fashioned pizza. They said they added cheese to the pizza.
What I received was a $17+ cardboard 10” thin dough with a little sauce and a few pieces of mozzarella. It was so bad, even while I was starving, that I had to eat the delicious sauce and mozzarella cheese by itself leaving the cheese.
I have had this pizza before I was gluten free and their regular dough is delicious. Their little bread rolls are a delight! They come with parmesan cheese and like a vinaigrette.
This place is delicious for non gluten-free eaters.
Whenever we go to the next door UPS place, we grab a large cheese pizza from here since they make it fresh. We asked for it to be well-done and they are one of the few places that know how to do it. Actually stopped by today (Thursday evening) for a belated birthday dinner for me and my husband. Good choice for a fresh hot pizza.
We also gave the ravioli frita a try this time around. The serving size is a bit on the small side, but maybe they give more pieces if you dine-in. It tasted great though and just the right crunchiness to the outer shell while the cheese inside was still hot. The marinara sauce made it % better. Not sure what the other sauce was but I think it was spicy mustard, which I'm not a fan of with my ravioli, but maybe it would taste good with fried calamari.
Thanks for the continuously great pizza
Service was awesome and friendly.
Food has declined since our last visit.
The rolls are about a third the size they once were, and the same price.
The pizza was razor thin, honestly not even very filling. Much thinner than in the past, and the same price or more.
The salad portion has also shrunk despite the price staying the same.
Calzone was very sloppily put together (pepperoni was in a single large wad rather than distributed, same for the ricotta.) Quality overall less than in the past.
Overall, the prices have stayed the or risen slightly, while portions have shrunk considerably and quality took a hit.
The pizza was okay and definitely better than commercial pizza chains but definitely not worth the price! $40pizza better be top notch and these just weren't and very stingy w the garlic!
I’ve been here a few times since moving to the area and have always enjoyed the level of service but today was beyond exceptional. I was in a rush and only had time to scarf down a slice of pizza and a beer. James and the BOH staff were phenomenal in accommodating my timely request and got me in and out promptly. Looking forward to the next slice!
I an a regular at piesanos and will say this is my fav pizza in Gainesville. Very friendly, quick and tasty!
Shout out Mike the Manager for always being so attentive.
Service was outstanding. Food was Delicious. And everything was very affordable. I think I found a new favorite place.
Update: as always, yummy food and attentive service. Definitely one of my favorite places.
First time trying this place and it had great reviews. People here apparently don’t have a clue what good food is because this definitely wasn’t it. Calamari while cooked well had zero seasoning on it, very bland. The house rolls were drenched in Italian salad dressing, yuck. The pizza crust was very tuff and flavorless, honestly Domino’s Pizza is better. The bread sticks were not bad. My favorite part was my wife finding a long thin brown hair baked into the pizza. They comped the Pizza but we at that point were completely done with this place. Definitely won’t be back. Not a good value for what you get and food was subpar. Even the water tasted like plastic hose. Avoid this place.
Ordered thin crust take out. Went to the pick up area, but no one was behind the desk. While I stood there waiting for nearly 3-5 minutes, the 2 bartenders 20 feet away from me - and with no customers sitting at the bar - just looked up at me, said nothing, and continued washing glasses and the bar top. It was around 4 o’clock and the place was still quite empty. The pizza itself, I must say was disappointing. I ordered the thin crust, and while the overall taste was delicious, the crust was quite soggy, not crisp at all, and required the use of 2 hands to pick up the droopy slices. The girl at the pick up desk was very friendly and cheerful.
The food here is always wonderful and the staff is very friendly.
9/3/22 Visited again today, this time we had pizza, this may be the best pizza I've ever had.
First, we had to pass the homeless beggar sitting outside! Upon being seated, the waitress gave us an ultimatum - get rid of our bottled water or leave! Florida has THE most disgusting water so we always are prepared with our own. Piesanos, your filtered water is just as disgusting! We have visited Piesanos every single time we passed through Gainesville this past year (which has been almost monthly). This is the first time we were ever asked to leave because we had bottled water. How incredibly embarrassing! The manager simply stated “It’s company policy. ” Sorry Piesanos, we will take our business to a competitor - one who won’t force us to choose between a decent pizza and staying hydrated!
I personally didn't like it, but it doesn't mean you wont. My calzone was basically all cheese and some meat. Like a block of cheese. It felt as I was just chewing and chewing cheese. Water could have been more pleasant. Definitely won't be back. The location off 43rd was much better.
You will find us here literally every Monday night before Rachel takes her 2 days off. And maybe one other night per week! She is amazing. She sees us walk in and comes immediately to the table with drinks that she already knows we will be ordering. Food is absolutely delicious, especially the cauliflower crust pizza.
Tasty pizza and calzones. Rolls are great too, just a bit greasy.
Update: 5/31/2022
Ordered from here recently and the food was basically inedible. My cheese sticks weren't fully cooked and were in a sea of grease. Same goes for our pizza. Only edible thing we received was the rolls. The consistency here fluctuates so wildly I can't in good conscious recommend it or say it's more than just ok.
Terrible service and subpar food. I really used to like this place. When i first got here from the east coast, i thought wow! A pizza spot that taste like back home. Nope! Not this time. We waited 45 min for 10 wings. Waiters were so unattentive. Never gave us silverware. When i finally waved a waiter down she came to our table and slammed the silverware on our table and said "here" and walked away. We spent over $70 on our meal. What a waste! Never again! My sons school pizza tasted better! Lousy service as well. Might be new management? I wont be coming back.wouldnt recommend.
Ordered a BLT (bacon lettuce tomato) even thought they don’t actually make them the hostess was so nice I wish I could remember her name! She made it work for me and got me what I wanted! It was the night of May 21st right before they closed. Thank you guys!
I’m not sure what is going on at this location but it is not good. I’ve eaten here many times and it has always been good but tonight was much different. It started out ok, ordered beverages and garlic rolls. Drinks came fairly quick but it took a long time for the rolls.the server took our food orders and that’s when the wheels fell off the bus. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. We noticed other tables in the same situation. Finally, some food arrived. A few personal pizzas and a salad. But that left 3 orders still to come. We knew that calzones take longer so we expected that but we were now an hour into this dining adventure. The manager showed up to the table and apologized and said that the calzones were just put in and it would be 25 minutes cook time. Needless to say this was completely unacceptable. Instead of calzones we settled for personal pizza. Not the meal I had hoped for. While we were waiting, a gentleman from one of the other tables actually walked to the kitchen to find out what the problem was. The manager was nice enough and she tried to make it right but the experience was far less than favorable. I won’t go back to that location.
I ordered kinda late, and they were super nice very attentive and polite! Great customer service! The food was made to order and the wait wasn't bad either! Quicker than what the online ordering stated! Thank you.
