Pietro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar, Sarasota FL

What an amazing restaurant, what a delicious meal; our salad was delicious, our appetizer is absolutely delicious and our main courses were perfectly cooked, perfectly balanced, as good as it could be! We are from NJ and thoroughly enjoy our meal at the spectacular Italian restaurant!

Wow! This was me and my boyfriend’s 2nd Valentine’s day together, and we were looking for a romantic scene (which, it was the perfect setting for a romantic evening) with quality food. The staff and the servers were wonderful, the service was outstanding! The food was made to perfection with a real authentic taste. To miss out on a dinner at Pietros would be a big mistake! Can’t wait to come back!

Words cannot describe the deliciousness of the food here. We went for the first time on a recommendation of a friend and we were blown away. The veal marsala was the best I've ever had with all the delicate flavors melded together. Likewise, my husband said the lasagna was out of this world with a red sauce that didn't disappoint. The side of roasted peppers that I had was amazing, again not to be repetitive but the best I've ever had. The lemon cake was light and airy with just enough lemony flavor. We can't wait to go back!

Delicious meals in a warm, welcoming setting. And when the owner swings by to see how you're doing? Feels like you belong there. Enjoyed our evening very much.

Pietro, Susan, and all staff were absolutely wonderful in helping us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary for a party of 10.
The service, the food, and the attention to details were superb.
While the food is always excellent, our out of town guests raved about the appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts.
This assured us that we made the correct decision having this dinner here.

Always an amazing experience at Pietros! I visit Sarasota regularly and Pietros is always on the list. Over the years we have had just about everything and it's always been spot on, consistently great in every aspect! You won't be disappointed!

There are many places in Sarasota that serve Italian food. Some are better than others, however, this is one of the best!

The food quality is exceptional, although admittedly, the prices are a little bit higher than other restaurants. This is a great restaurant for a date or a formal gathering with friends. It does have a romantic and quiet dining room with a draped fabric ceiling and bookcase filled with wine bottles throughout. There is also a nice bar area and another seating area that is a little less formal.

This restaurant has become one of our favorites as we have a property on Siesta Key and some of the higher end restaurants have declined in quality. We're happy to see that Pietro's has remained one of our tried and true restaurants just over the South Bridge.

Found on Open Table. Cozy, well decorated. A little pricey. An app, a soup, a dessert, four meals (one from the special), two bottles of wine well over $300. Definitely impress a date here. Food? Italian cuisine is famous for its' flexibility of protein+sauce+pasta. No different here. The signature dish came in both chicken and veal, topped in eggplant, delicious. Limoncello cake was very good.

One of the best Italian experiences ever! I had the privilege to have a thoughtful conversation with Peter, at the bar, as I drank some Chianti wine paired with an octopus appetizer and veal entree with a side of pasta. Peter shared a small sample of a 2016 Sonoma wine that was delicious. The staff supporting Peter is first class. Wendy was my server and she shared some of her traveling experiences and her passion for food and wine. Wendy recommended everything I had for dinner and her choices were perfect. The taste and presentation at this restaurant is everything you expect at a high end restaurant in NYC, Chicago or any city in Italy. If you are staying in the Siesta Key or Sarasota area, this place should be on your list to have dinner. You will not be disappointed! There is a reason Peter has so many photos of famous people on his wall who have dined with him and his staff. Thank you Peter, Wendy and your staff for making this a memory of a lifetime! I will be back.

By far, the best Italian restaurant I have been to! The atmosphere puts you in Italy, with perfect background music that makes you feel like you were overseas. The service was impeccable, the waitress and the bus boy were polite and on top of things. Finally, tue food… OMG, excellent flavor, I ordered the veal a la St. Lucie. Well cooked and full of different herbs and mushrooms that made it exquisite. The other in the table ordered lasagna, chicken parmesana, pasta a la carbonara…. All of them were excellent. If you visit Sarasota, you have to visit them. My only advice, you need more high chair for kids…

Outstanding authentic Italian cuisine! Once inside the restaurant you feel like you are in Italy, the service is wonderful, and Susan and Pietro make you feel like family. The escargot are some of the best I have ever had, my wife loves the veal chop parmesan, and one of my favorites is the veal Mama Lucia. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the fish and seafood taste like they were caught that day. One of the top restaurants in Sarasota! We can wait for our next dinner at Pietro's, grazie mille!

My husband and I had the best date night here! Romantic, the food was excellent, and the house wine was amazing. So good we got a bottle to go home with! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a wonderful evening we spent having a delicious dinner and fabulous wines. The staff was amazing! We ate in the wine room and it was truly spectacular.

Welcome Back! The best Italian in Sarasota and surrounding areas. The food, service and atmosphere is second to none. Pietro and Susan along with their wait staff are so friendly and make you feel completely at home while treating you like VIP’s. Bravo!

Had the best Italian meal we’ve ever had. Lobster ravioli and lasagna was both fresh and delicious.
This atmosphere is so quaint, romantic and one of a kind. Alec was an amazing waiter and treated us like family. He treated us to a complimentary glass of bubbly from Croatia. The wine menu here is abundant.
We will be back again.

It's awesome. Great wine list, good food choices - nothing too fancy, but well executed. Staff are helpful and friendly, Pietro and wife are always available and happy to help or tell a story.
