Bait and switch. Quoted $250 over phone for Zodiac G3 pool vac (great product). Went to pick up. $330 ($309 plus tax). Really? !? ! Probably won’t do business with PAP again.
Terribly disappointed as Pinch A Penny has a good rep. Purchased a new pump and filter. Fair prices. Team (one experienced; one in training) came out to install. Experienced tech would not listen to what we wanted - his main goal was to get the pump at lowest speed to save money. No problem with that but all the accessories (vacuum, waterfall, fountains, pool sweep) will not operate at the low speed. PAP left. We started having problems with air in the pump and filter. PAP (trainee) came out numerous times but did not find or fix the problem. Had another company try various things and they finally resolved the problem by finding a leak in the pool sweep shut off valve (which PAP had replaced when they installed the pump and filter). I will not do business with Pinch A Penny again.
I've used this location since '94 and have always had a nice experience.except for the last, and final time.
Over the years, I have bought motors, filters and everything else one might need for a pool.
Last time I went in to refill my chlorine, I was not able to find the free coupon I had been given for buying a certain amount of chlorines, so they made me pay for all the chlorine I bought, knowing full well I should have had one for free. Besides seeing me there every few weeks buying it, the records of purchases are all in their computer but apparently, the fact that I was lacking the actual coupon one time was enough not to give me what I should have gotten.
I was told that according to store policy, no coupon, no free chlorine. Period.
Kind of short-sighted on their part I suppose.
I also have a policy, treat me right or I'll go somewhere else.
That is the last time I will ever go to that store.
