13Good food. Kay our waitress was the very best. Our 1st time at rest. Will certainly return.
Another pleasant surprise as we continue to try different places in highlands county. It’s a little off the beaten path of 27 in Avon Park but worth the drive. Park off to the rear right when you pull in as there are spots set aside for restaurant guests. Greeted immediately and taken to our seats. The bartender turned out to be our waitress but she handled it perfectly. Very nice and explained some of the food for us. I asked for a change to a menu item and they accommodated after checking with the kitchen. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was the star of the show. Done perfectly and topped with a pimento cheese ball. So good. Our salad was delicious and the club very tasty. So many sweet potato fries, we could not finish. Had to get a box for leftovers. All in all a five star experience, especially if you’re looking for something a little different. Enjoy! #stevensleavin
My wife and I found this course online while searching for places to play around Sebring. We were there visiting family- let me tell you, I am so glad we picked this course. Kay was so welcoming as soon as we opened the door! So friendly, so helpful. The clubhouse was beautiful, just like the course. Fairways, tee boxes, and greens in great shape. ESPECIALLY the greens. We will definitely be back!
Love this restaurant, the service is always great and the food is delicious, you need to try this amazing fish sandwich below, my hubby had the burger and he said it was very good, as an appetizer we started with the onion ring tower, check out the pics below.
MOST DEFINETELY WORTH THE DRIVE. VERY FRIENDLY AND TOUGH GREENS TO READ. A LIL TIP, WHEN IN DOUBT STAY LEFT TO ACCESS 90% OF THE PINS.
THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT IS AWESOME. TOO BAD THEY DONT SERVE BREAKFAST.
Love to eat at the Sandhill Grill. The food was excellent, and the service was exceptional. Keep up the great work!
I went to lunch with my sister and a friend of ours. First time there, I had a cesare salad, it was very good, nice menue. The server was very nice. I plan on going again soon
The new owners have really turned this course around! The fairways, greens, bunkers, maintenance, cart shed employees all have been dramatically improved! Owners have financially invested heavily in not only the golf course but a complete remodel of the restaurant as well as the golf clubhouse! A challenging course with several tee boxes to accommodate everyone's skill level. Never had a negative issue at this course, members and walk-ins are treated with the same respect, unlike a couple of other courses in that area! Would recommend this facility to everyone!
Wonderful course…. Course is in great shape. Greens are smooth and roll very nice. The Bogey Bullies really enjoyed their round. Kay in the pro shop was very welcoming and a pleasure to speak to!
Well kept course
Watered enough
Green are very nice
Little trouble not hard layout
What a great find. The greens are fantastic for a public course. A low cost golf course, with very friendly staff. Drove up from Fort Myers to avoid paying over 100/round during season. Played the front 9 twice due to pace of play, but hey, we were golfing in January for $26! We will be back and hoping to play the back 9 next time.
There was a five some in front of us with a foursome in front of them who were playing slow. A ranger could have been used to a speed up play.
Definitely worth a play as the golf course is superb. However, they advertise as a Donald Ross golf course but it is not. The golf course was designed by Bert Way of Firestone CC in the 1920s. Mr. Way was a golf pro who designed and built numerous courses in Ohio and Michigan in that time frame and was hired by the Firestone member who developed the resort to design and start this golf course. The Ross connection is likely through similar construction teams but there is no evidence that Ross ever did work here. Nor did Donald Ross ever design a golf course where every Par 4 played between 390-410 yards!
Fun Fact: The original 1st hole was today's 14th hole. The lot adjacent to the tee was the hotel site. The golf course routing played in order as today from there.
