This place is totally awesome! They've got great clothes in styleand shoes, accessories. You name it and the prices are also great! Go on over and check this great place out!

This is my favorite platos and ice been to a lot! The have an Instagram account where they post about sales and giveaway drawings. They also post about that they are buying or needing. They have a huge selection of clothing. From bracelets to jackets, hats, shoes, dresses, even some wide stuff, and purses. The staff here is always amazing and helpful! The point system is also great! So yall go check them out!

I drive from Ocklawaha just for this store.
We have one in Ocala but their selection is small.
I love the one in gainsville, the only thing I would suggest is they carry larger sized clothing! It's funny to me that people grip about the smell, of course it's gunna have a bit of a odor it's ALL used stuff!
I mean I'd be shocked if it didn't have a bit of a odor with all the shoes they have!
Worth the drive!

This was the first Plato's Closet that I visited and wow what a gret experience! The prices are fair and they don't have too many unappealing clutter as far as clothing/thrift stores goes. I have purchased 3 pairs of name brand shoes from the MANY visits to now 5 different locations throughout florida. I am on their membership club with well over 400 points for my 20% off. Some stores have less enthusiastic employees but ultimately it's the brand name/Price/Selection that I'm after! I very highly suggest Plato's!

Pro: Nice variety of clothes for women.

Cons: some of the employees are necessarily rude. The selection for men items

So my wife and I dropped off a bag of clothes to have them go through. They told us it would be done in a hour and a half so we waited that time then called them they told us our stuff would be ready in 30 minutes. So we waited the 30 minutes went up to the counter and told them we had called and they told us 30 minutes but we haven't gotten our stuff or money they then ask what our stuff was in my wife described the bag and the lady was like it'll be 45 minutes but as long as your here by 7 you can pick it back up I then told my wife not even talking to the people behind the counter that we couldn't wait that long and that we don't have gas to go all the way home then back out here and the women behind the counter wanted to start screaming saying "tell them to take their shot and leave. " So when I told her not to disrespect me or my family or our belongings to just give us our stuff back and we'll leave the entire crew working wanted to start screaming. This is the most unprofessional store I've ever been to no wonder they are trying to sell the franchise can't keep repeat customers with attitudes like theirs.

I had gone into Platos to sell some clothing at roughly 7: 15, was told that they stop buying at 7. The previous night I was told they stop accepting buys at 7: 30. When I mentioned that the girl I went to sell to said in the rudest way possible "Well whoever told you that is wrong and I am right" and proceeded to laugh and mention she was texting that in a group chat and pulled out her phone in front of me. I find this weird because I have worked with several Platos closet locations and all locations stop accepting buys up until closing hour which is 9 pm and 6 pm on Sundays. I thought this was very unprofessional of this girl and very rude to do so. Instead she should have accepted the buy, they were clearly not busy, I didn't see them sorting any buys and they didn't have many customers, along with having three girls behind the counter just standing around. If the girl could pull out her phone to text she could've accepted my buy. I would highly suggest management goes over a conduct with their employees on some type of professionalism. I usually love Platos, it's always a good hip and fun atmosphere there and as a first time goer at this location (I am new to Gainesville) I felt very unwelcomed. Looks like I will just stick to selling my items via resale apps or going back to my hometown Platos where we are greeted with a smile and never turned down past a certain time other than closing time.

Brought in 7 bags of clothing to sell, and only received $7 and some change back for everything. 95% of the clothing I brought in was kept by Plato's Closet well. Don't sell here, this place is a major scam

I went in looking for a top and I was surprised at the organized selection of all the clothes and shoes. The cashier was super polite and even informed me of the point/reward program. I will definitely be back again to shop. Large selection of name brand clothes in good condition and foe very reasonable prices.

Always friendly great prices and easy to look for items most places overcrowd the clothes and makes it difficult but platos has a nice layout

I went to drop off some clothes today and confirmed with two employees multiple times that it would be done before I left town this afternoon, and I showed up when they said it would be ready, although I was running way late and went the complete opposite direction to get there, and it still wasn’t ready. Very disappointed and won’t be returning to this location.

As a customer, Platos Closet it okay. The staff here are usually friendly and helpful. The store is huge & theres a ton to look through. The problem i have here is the ratio of small sizes to big girl sizes, it’s sad. I’m talking racks and racks of XS, S & even Medium, yet there’s only a fraction of a rack for XL & XXL sizes. It’s usually pretty sloppy in here too. The organization and labeling is on point though at least.

Totally recommend selling clothes here. They gave me $220 for the same clothes I took to the Plato’s closet in Ocala and they have me $9.

This place is scam central! They take your stuff, give you a random amount of (very little) money with no receipt or list of what they took and how much they gave you for each item. Stay away! Go to Sandy's or Flashbacks if you want to sell used clothing to a reputable and honest store.

Rachel the “manager” was so rude while bringing in my clothes which are name brand. She told me to come back after 2: 00 when I dropped my clothes of around 1: 30. When coming back in i was then told 2 1/2hrs they would be done as she is sitting on her phone doing nothing. Do not waste your time going here! Rude employees and long wait times for probably only $40 hand outs when your clothes are worth more.

Don’t bother with them. Waited over 2 hours to be told that they wouldn’t take anything from a bag of Express clothing bought earlier in the year. Half had tags and the others still hadn’t been worn. Was told by a rude girl that they were “stained” and that they were only “looking to take skinny jeans, if you have any of those”. Was also told I’d get a 10% discount shopping while I waited and the girl ringing my purchase didn't include it. Complete waste of time, last time I go back.

It's alright but would like to see more of a selection for every size and shaped woman not just size 4
