I have done business with the Platoes at Regancy for 10 plus years and have always had very disturbing reviews but kept them to myself but tonight took the cake! I showed up with a pair of almost mint condition high top original air Jordan’s too be told they could not make an offer bc the break in lines were the reason they could not make an offer! Now I understand they have to make money and they do make a lot of money by low balling top quality items to turn around and then Sale a lot of big time names like air Jordan for 3/4 more than what they offer you! I realize it’s your choice to take the offer or not! But when. You go back and see a older model pair jordans with a sticker of 100 bucks on it or a pair that look very worn and a color and the Jordan stamping almost faded off with a price tag of 60 bucks but they finally offer you 4.99 for yours which are near mint and to be told they would only be sold for 14 bucks is crazy! They had a pair of Walmart red with a symbol that would make you think they were Vans for 15.99 and they sale new for maybe 15 or 20 max at Walmart is sickening! I have sold over almost 500 to 1k merchandise to Platoes and to hear the owner say if they were not in need of men’s shoes they would not have even offered 4.99! So, if I were you and want some good lucking air Jordan’s original high top look for 14 bucks at size 10.5 or 11 I’d run up their and get them. They will buy well used wrangler jeans over brand new rock revival jeans that cost 179 or higher. I mean they will give u 5 bucks for the rock rival and they want even make an offer on buckle brand new button down plaid shirts bc they say they are not in style. I guess they know fashion over a leader in the fashion industry! Nobody expects to get paid what they paid at buckle but for God sake they really have no clue of today’s retail world! I’d stay away unless you have very low end clothing or what they consider flawless used or even new clothing, shoes wallets or purses! I’m very disappointed with the how I was treated by the male staff and to be honest the screwing people over in times of need! Yes, it’s your choice to take their low Dawg offer but they are being dishonest with their business model and becoming wealthy off people who are in need! They make a pawn shop look like saints and that is saying a lot. Very sad. Stay away and sale online where you willl at least make some coin instead of being taken advantage of and they know what they are doing is wrong and they should feel ashamed to call themselves a business! They are more like organized crime taking advantage of those in time of need! In the south we call that “ “SORRY”” just cash cows!

️️COVID-19 PSA️️

Platos closet on Regency had an employee that tested positive for COVID-19. I went in to start my first day of work there after interviewing a little over a week ago, the OWNER Mr. M didn’t disclose that during the interview. She was so upfront about precautions, masks, ensuring I was social distancing, and gloves and failed to say a thing about it. She decided to wait on my first day, when my shift was almost ending, she decided to be shady and nonchalantly say “oh we had an employee test positive for COVID-19, she’s back now and I worked with her and I’m fine I didn’t get it. ” She waited a brief moment before asking if that’s okay with me. I haven’t been back to work there at all. She mentioned disclosing it online on the Facebook and she did not do that. So just be careful guys. That definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Such a shame because I LOVED shopping there.

While I was waiting for the staff to go through my clothes which were name brands such as free people, lucky brand and american eagle.also in awesome condition. I noticed a lot of the clothes in there were torn or dirty and so not in style.please help me understand this? They did decline very good things I brought in.makes no sense to me, it was definitely a waste of time and gas

Wide variety. Anyone should be able to find something that fits their style. They seem to be very selective on the clothes they accept. Some of the staff are friendly, others not so much!

Obsessed with shopping here the deal's I get here are unheard of the quality of the used clothing they sell here is the Best never seen stained or run down looking clothing, shoes, purses, or Jewelry top Brands that look brand new I only buy here, and the Manager (been in Ohio 2 years) at the time (hope you still work here) was the Absolute best to me when I was Pregnant I was to little for Maternity clothes she every single time I came in assisted me with finding stylish Fun and cute outfits that I could wear Pregnant that really got me hooked as a Loyal Customer trust me Pregnancy Emotion's when you want to find clothing Cute and Comfy is hard she went beyond to make me feel Special and when I had the Baby the entire Staff were absolutely wonderful and so excited to meet her I shopped every single week during my pregnancy they were like Family by the time I delivered, I am thrilled to be back in Jacksonville and can't wait to get my shopping game on here again!

DO NOT DONATE YOUR CLOTHES HERE. Worst experience ever. The employees are young and don’t know what they’re doing. It’s disorganized. Who actually runs this company? I would rather might as well donate to the goodwill. You don’t get back what you pay for even if the clothes you were giving were barely used or touched.

Ridiculously disorganized and over priced. Seriously, save your time, money and sanity and go somewhere else.

Kind of a run down store. Compared to the other Plato's stores. This is not kept as well organized not as clean and to many clothes on the racks, making it hard to look at the clothes on the racks.

I like going to the different locations for the shoes but never at the Recency location. I also like the fact that you can rack up on points for a 20% discount after a few visits. Even additional if you don't use a bag. I asked for the "no bag" discount and the young man told me if I had my own bag, he can give the discount and that they no longer sell bags. I stated that I do not have my own bag but will carry my stuff in my hand, just so that I can get the additional points. He said, Since you didn't bring a bag, I can't give you the points. I still left without a bag and no additional points. Does not make sense. Wasn't a big deal but poor customer service!

I been selling to platos closet for years and my experience has always been ok. This time however I took a lot of clothes that were pretty much brand new, the girl at the counter said it will take 4 hour to go trough them. When I came back to the store, I saw that the only went trough the first few items on top and didnt even bother to look at the rest of it. They guys tells me "we passed on on EVERYTHING because of condition. " How can you sit there and lie to my face when I can see a few items balled up on top and the rest of it folded nightly like I left it. Never going back there and wasting 4 hours of my day and gas not worth it. I'll rather sale it online for more money than they will give me, even if it takes longer.

Just had the worst experience Ever here. To start I was told my items which included jeans from American Eagle were not accepted because they were child sizes. I didn’t know American Eagle sold childrens clothes. In addition to my items included 2 Coach crossbody bags that were not accepted as well. At this point I’m laughing because I turn around to see pictured items. While checking out it took 3 people to complete my transaction bc apparently no one knew what the hell they were doing. 0 stars in my book pictures don’t lie!

Went in with like 6 bags (clothes, shoes, purses, sunglasses) they ended up taking 16 items and I got about $55 for it. Wish I could have gotten ride of more, but overall very happy with the sale and customer service was great. Oh yeah they don’t take sunglasses though.

Great customer service experience and cool dry place. They have a big selection but will take 45 minutes to appraise your clothes. It's worth it if you have patience

The store had a weird smell and most of the clothes were out of date. Maybe I went on a bad day.so, I'd be willing to give it another shot.

I love Plato's Closet.where else can you get great name brand clothes in great shape for so cheap. LIFETIME CUSTOMER!

It was a good store when it first opened but now it’s just not the same. Plus selling your clothes here isn’t worth your time. You can have the same style and brands as what’s on their shelf but told your stuff isn’t in style or the brand they accept. Uhhh y’all are selling the exact same thing I have? Makes no sense. You’d have better luck selling on OfferUp or Letgo.
