Plato's Closet Waterford Lakes, Orlando FL

I always like visiting Plato‘s closet just to see what I can fine this location has a great variety of different items. The staff was very friendly.

The only reason I am giving this review more than one star is because i usually love shopping in this Plato's, and the items in the store are actually really cute. A few days ago, however, my experience was not so positive. I witnessed some of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen, even for a thrift store. I come in here quite often and know most of the staff members, who are usually all very sweet. However, their employee (I believe her name is Alyssa), completely ignored me and other customers, and made me feel as if I wasn't even there. She was talking and joking with someone on her personal cell phone for the entirety of my visit, both behind the counter and around the store, all while giving other employees a hard time about not "working fast enough". I've heard other employees refer to her as a manager, and if this is the case, there definitely needs to be a review in her training.

Today was my first time visiting this location and I have to say this is my favorite location. I was greeted by 2 different employees just walking in the store. The store is clean, organized and had a great selection of plus size clothes. Can’t wait to come visit again!

I was sitting in a chair in the corner of the store away from everyone catching my breath since I’m super pregnant and I had my mask down slightly under my nose to breath (more than 6 feet away from anyone) and someone came to speak to me about. It’s just so ridiculous. The store is fine, more over priced than other Plato’s, but I just felt it was so rude to call me out when I was following CDC guide lines. (Even better than CDC guidelines since the rule is that masks aren’t needed anymore.)

The staff and clothes here are great. One of the employees (I belive her name was Alyssa) was super helpful in helping me find the right shoes for basketball. They are super comfortable, give support and are even pretty stylish. I wouldnt have found shoes like these (for the price) if it wasnt for plato's and her super awesome help!

I love this store. They have a great staff. They are always willing to help and explain In a nice way on buying and selling. I really appreciate the kindness. Thank you for making my time fun and enjoyable.

Worst customer service ever! Came in with name brand clothes in a good name brand bag with all my clothes folded inside. Previous customers came in with worse bags than mine and right as I walked into the store the young ladies behind the counter were talking amongst themselves and had looked at me with slight disgust and annoyance until one female told me they don’t accept bags. P.s. Nowhere did it state nor in the website video it states no bags. This is the second time I try to sell at this location and I get the same experience every single time. I’d make more selling each piece of my name brand clothing myself, but instead I try to sell to this location so they may make a profit on my clothing. (I literally had name brand clothes from American Eagle to Guess and Nike.)

I felt very I unaccepted to say the least when I walked in.

Please take your business elsewhere and refrain from selling here. Place looks horrible and employees are terrible. Please reconsider rehiring/ pay more per hr to people/ employees that actually care about working and have better customer service.

In order to even look around, they insist you wear a face mask but do not enforce social distancing. They dont clean anything after other people have been in to touch everything. It is posted nowhere that you have to wear a face mask when you walk in, but without it you are kicked out. Horrible service, unclenlieness conditions, and unnecessary requirement.

I went in to sell clothes. They were pretty busy it seemed, the girl at the checkout said that a bunch of clothes came in within the last ten minutes and I could visibly see a bunch of stuff on the ground behind the counter. I go to browse the racks and I am watching the little tracker on my phone. I notice that it skips the 'sorting' phase and jumps straight to finished, so I go back up to the counter. They tell me that out of all of the name-brand clothes and shoes that I brought, they will take none of it. "It's not the kind of thing that sells well here". The clothes have not even been touched or looked at, all in the same bags that I brought them in, and in the same order. A girl right after me got told the exact same thing, and it seemed that they were just doing this to everyone who came in because they were too busy. As I was wandering the racks, I heard them audibly complaining about how much there was to sort and saw no one actually sorting any of the clothes I or someone else brought in.

Seller beware, if you go here and see that they are busy, turn right around and leave. They won't even look at it.

I appreciate the kindness of most of the workers, hence the given number of stars. In a previous visit last year, I came in with a couple of nicely folded and clean clothing (some mine, some family members). The sales associate up front told me that they are currently taking "Fall" pieces only so they ended up rejecting the majority of the clothes in my bags. Keep in mind: They were definitely Fall-applicable pieces, containing things like sweaters and light jackets. So she hands me my bags back in a terrible state of disarray and only buys these VS PINK "Beach Please" slippers. Which is strange because.those are not really Fall appropriate at all. The bag of clothes was also returned with a ripped handle.

On my latest and probably my last visit, they rejected all of the pieces in my bags and claimed that they were out of season and/or style. I saw a couple of items in-store while waiting that looked almost exactly like the items in my bags. The associate told me that it would take 20 minutes to look through the bags but it was probably less than 7 minutes. Overall, my past experiences have been hit or miss. I would have had a more satisfying experience if they handled my items with more TLC and have been more upfront with the clothing buying process.

Update: Response is not going to change the fact that this location is 2 stars at best.

You can get some really nice stuff here for a good price. Plus on a rainy day if you have nothing to do it's nice to search through the things to find a nice gem that may be hidden

Very clean and nice store. Belanda and Naomi provided outstanding customer service that is unparalleled when compared to any other Platos i’ve visited. Both of them were extremely friendly and inviting and it made my visit very enjoyable.

I always have a great experience when visiting a plato’s location but today was extra special. Sadie, Team member of this store, provided exceptional guest service with lead to an extraordinary experience.

The girls who are behind the counter are lovely but the managers I've encountered are rude, never smiles, and downright unpleasant. The girls tell me she's always horrible. I feel like when you're a leader you're supposed to lead by example. I've had more than one unpleasant experience with her. I won't shop there again.

I think they should find a better way to judge your clothing when they want to pass on the items they should never tell a customer that their clothes look old and sometimes when I bring clothes they are to lazy to even look at them and another thing I think they should have a better system wear just because whoever is looking at the clothes doesn’t like does not mean someone else that comes in to buy will not like but I will say the employee are always nice and the prices are good and they are always their to help I just don’t recommend to sell items their

Terrible customer service, long wait time, unprofessional employees, terrible selling policies, unorganized work environment and employees didn't seem to care about the clothes you bring unless they like them themselves. Never going there again.

A special thank you to Belinda for sorting through over 30 bracelets to help me find one I saw posted on Instagram. Although it sold - her attitude and customer service is what keeps me going back all the time. The store was recently remodeled (looks great) and they have tons of selection. Great store for a great value!

I’ve sold at other locations before and had okay experiences, but this location was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and they made the process as quick as possible. The store was clean and well organized. I would definitely recommend this location.

It's an ok place, BUT their prices are outrageous! I bought a pair of converse here to just find them at Ross for the same price but in spectacular condition! Can I return them!? Yeah but only for half the price I got them as which is straight BULL! I saw a Michael Khors bag there once and it was so out of price! I saw that same one at Ross BRAND NEW for the same price! You're a thrift shop guys! Stop acting like a bargain brand store!

This specific location has small and extra small men's/youth size clothing which is hard to come by at other clothing stores for men. I found a good condition xtra small long sleeve button down. Difficult and impossible to find those sizes at department stores. Affordable clothing for men, also lots of options for the wife to browse.
