Plaza Mexico Restaurant Bar & Grill, Port Charlotte FL

My husband and I have visited this restaurant on several occasions and it’s always been Amazing but as of recent they have updated their menu and added some spectacular drinks to the menu. I can promise you’ll only need ONE of these to put you in the Mood!

Oh, and the customer service is the BEST!

I was on Vacation in Florida for a week. This was my First time I had been here! The size & taste of the burrito was amazing!: -D I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant! I only wish I had the Fresh Guacamole!

Food is ok, but something is bound to be wrong with the order. If you order and have it delivered or pick up, something is always missing, or they substitute something you don't want. Tamales are definitely frozen, covered with sauce and cheese to mask the dry, frozen taste. Staff is wanting. Default place to go because it's closest but prefer other place in town.

This is the second Plaza Mexico location we have been to and judging from the crowd on a Tuesday evening, it is as popular as Sarasota.
I got the Mocajete as I did before and I think that it was even better here. We were with family and everyone enjoyed their meal. Katelynne Anne was one of the most responsive servers that I can remember as she stopped by numerous times to make sure that we were happy.

I ordered hard tacos for my daughter and the beef was raw! I called to notify staff. They offered an apology, but would not refund the meal unless I drove back to the restaurant with the raw tacos. After explaining it would take me 40 min round trip to drive back, they did not offer any additional solutions. I was very disappointed and will not be returning / recommending Plaza Mexico.

Great service and delicious home made guacamole, it was amazing to have it freshly done in a front of us. Cocktails were very good and we just had an appetizer to share, the chicken nachos it were very good and great quantity for the price! We Will come back!

Food was amazing! The service was amazing! So friendly and quick. We ordered the queen and that was so food. Chips could be a little saltier, but my only complaint if I has one.

Very disappointing. Saw good reviews and had high hopes, but left swearing never to return.

Started off well with prompt service and excellent salsa. Table-side guacamole was bland, even with onions and jalapeños. My son's Kraft Mac and Cheese (only) was nearly $8, as were all other kids' menu options. My wife ordered beef tacos, which she said were seasoned weirdly and inedible. I thought they tasted fishy, like actual fish. My quesadilla should have had the sides with it, but they didn't come. The chicken in it was from their crock-pot and made a wet and soggy quesadilla, not to mention tasting like canned cat food smells. I was assured it was grilled chicken.

It was a miss overall. I might consider trying it again, but it's about a third overpriced, so I'd hate to waste another $20+/person.

Normally give restaurants a chance but now 3 times in a row we have went to this restaurant. The food is great, but each time they drop the food off and never returns to check on us. No drink refills and at 3.75 each for soda. Then we have to track down the server to get bill and boxes. Would get dessert but not waiting longer. Also it was a different server each time. We told the manger and he said when we come back ask for him and he will make sure he waits on us. Due to this more then likely we will not be back.

Great atmosphere, people are friendly and attentative, guacamole made at the table is the best anywhere, food is as good as it gets and the chips and salsa can't be beat no matter where you go - We'll managed - This is the place to go

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The food is always very good and the appropriate temperatures. Service has always been great with quick refills and attention to detail. Their salsa is always tasty, but the spice level varies visit to visit. My daughter and I have started eating here weekly for lunch, we enjoy it so much.

The best service around, the staff are great and very friendly, the food is excellent, not our first time our server even recognizes us, we love the place. A +.

We're seated next to an extremely loud group. So loud that we were unable to enjoy our conversation or meal! Management did nothing to compensate us for a terrible dining experience

Finally found a friend that enjoys Mexican Cuisine. I had been here before a few years ago. The food was Very Good then and was Excellent this time.
Ordered the Molcajete for 2, was an excellent choice the two of us ate well and there was more than enough to bring home for lunch tomorrow. Wait Staff was right on things and Very Helpful. I would go again but I am moving out of state soon but highly recommend it for anyone looking for Good Mexican Cuisine.

Best Mexican restaurant Ever! Can't say enough about our experience there! It's a must go to place for awesome food, drink and a wonderful time!

All the food plus chips tasted like fish. The workers are not very friendly. Felt like I didn't belong. Will never go back!

I takeout for dinner every month. Three Amigos is my go to with house made hot sauce on the side. Wife. Shredded beef burrito. Chips and salsa always fresh.

My daughter took me to this restaurant lastnight for my birthday and it was so great! Our waitress must have overheard us talking, because before we knew it.it seemed the whole staff was at our table singing 'Happy Birthday' with a birthday tequila shot tray that had three orchid flowers on the tray. I asked my daughter if she told them it was my birthday n she hadn't. I was happily surprised and enjoyed the food as well. All great with their friendly staff and great food.

This is typically my go to Mexcian restaurant but we went last week and it just wasn't as good. Of course chips and queso were delicious but our meals were just OK. There are a lot more Mexican restaurants in town now and this last trip made me want to try other places. Service was good.
