Poblanos Mexican Grill & Bar reviews
21 Like the food & ambiance!
On an extra note, we had a birthday celebration and used Poblano's catering. They went above & beyond in food & service, not to mention the outstanding price. Poblano's you one of it kind. Keep it up, friends!
Great food and large portions. Best Mexican food around. I eat here whenever I'm in the area.
Really great Mexican food, reasonable prices for portion sizes. Lots of options and really friendly staff!
Hosting staff is not attentive. Food quality has gone down.
Edit: this time it was different. Food was super fresh and the staff was very nice and alert.
A year ago I wrote only a 4-star review because, although, my husband and I love this place for its food, margaritas and staff, it was in dire need of a facelift. Well I’m happy to write another review one year later with 5 stars because the owner has done a fantastic job remodeling this place. The entire place looks great and now it’s the whole package with consistently delicious food, the best margaritas and friendly staff. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant. We love taco Tuesday but when ordering off the menu, we really like their giant burrito, Texas style, the Pollo Picasso and their Chili Relano’s.
Friendly staff every time I go, menu has plenty options and friendly prices. The plates serve a decent amount of food too. Will continue to return.
They Updated the inside and it looks beautiful! The food is great for a great price. The service is great. Good Mexican food! Come here!
Food was americanized.
Service staff was too busy chatting to pay attention to the customers and
Atmosphere because of food and lack of attention couldn't wait to pay and get out
Very nice place inside and staff is friendly and attentive. Street taco plate was good, meat tasted great along with some grilled vegetables and rice. Really enjoyed it here! Nice relaxing late lunch
Looooooove this place, love the food, the employees are very well trained, very nice and warm. The restaurant was recently remodeled and looks gorgeous. The only thing is that the portions keep getting smaller and the price higher for example: (in the pollo picoso) and other dishes, very unusual for a Hispanic place.
Food was bland. No Mexican flavoring on anything. Salsa from a can, guacamole was tasteless, chicken nachos were boiled chicken, chips soaked too long in grease. Even the onions and peppers had no flavor. Chicken burritos grande was tasteless as was the steak burrito grande. Only flavor was from sauce. Haven't been here since before Covid and won't go back. When you go for Mexican you expect flavor. Disappointed.
By far the best local Mexican cuisine in the SRQ Bradenton area! I’ve tried all the local restaurants and Poblanos has the cleanest cooking and food options, will customize to order, excellent and courteous staff and exemplary cleanliness! Everything is cooked Fresca! You must try this spot!
This place is heaven on Earth. My husband and I tried it for the first time the day before yesterday, ate leftovers yesterday (because you get a massive amount of food), and missed it so much we went back today! Definitely our new go to. The prices are great, and it’s very vegetarian friendly.
A definate must visit for lunch or dinner. If you live close or not and have not been to Poblanos, you're missing out on a great authentic Mexican food and atmosphere. Food always comes to the table quickly.
Was pleasantly impressed with my initial visit to Poblanos. The food was positively outstanding, plentiful and delicious! The service we received was timely and courteous and most efficient! My wife and I have found a wonderful place to dine and intend to frequent here often! All I can add is: "come join us "!
The food was not presented properly and tasted very bland. I particularly gad trouble with the steak, it was tough and didn't taste seared. I just didn't like this place overall.
Go out of your way to go to this nice place where Jorge, the General Manager values his staff and is kind to them. Most of the employees have been there for years. A rare family business that adores their large, happy staff! Service is great and the regular crowd is super chill. SHOP LOCAL ALWAYS!
Been here a a few times over the years as it was a favorite of a friend. Found myself near at lunchtime so, why not?
The crowd was still thin before noon. I was greeted immediately upon entry and seated right away. Menu delivered & drink order taken within seconds.
The decor is very generic, as much sports bar/mainstream eatery as anything else, no real indication of the cuisine based on the decor.
The menu leans heavily towards Americanized versions of Mexican food: tacos, nachos, enchiladas, burritos. Nothing wrong with that but definitely lacking in authenticity.
The food quality was quite good but somewhat bland. Chips & salsa brought by when my drink arrived. Salsa was blah, needed some flavor. All I could taste was tomato, no onion, cilantro, tomatillo, peppers, etc. Asked for some hot sauce to give it something resembling flavor. They had several.
My enchiladas with refried beans and Mexican rice arrived shortly after and continued the underwhelming flavor parade. Nothing really there. Copious application of hot sauce helped but was insufficient to give the flavors that should be there in the first place.
The plate was very hot from sitting under the salamander but the enchiladas were just warm, same with the rice.
Lunch special, two enchiladas with two sides and water was $10 so the price was good for the quantity of food but the lack of flavor left me wanting. This apparently is the Mexican version of Applebee's or Chili's, a place you go sometimes at someone else's suggestion and then afterwards wonder "Why? ".
Visiting my grandkids here and we came to experience Poblanos mex grill. Hospitality wasn't what I expected. 4 young people were standing in the front chit chatting, wasn't received with a greeting. When the young lady was told, A party of 8. It seemed like it was a problem. Don't know if its due to me being hispanic. I was taking my business somewhere else. We ended up staying and the waiter made it much better. Made me feel at home. Never got his name, no name tag. He was very friendly.
I started eating before I took pictures, sorry it was so good. The service was amazing! The atmosphere is morphing to an opulent experience. From mexican food to Mexican cuisine! I did not want it to be over!
