Poppies, Delray Beach FL

As always my food was unbelievably delicious! The folks over at poppies are always so nice and they do such a great job. I'm enjoying this delicious charbroiled Mushroom Swiss burger that is just to die for. Their pickles are awesome. I usually have some of their sugar free cheesecake but they were out today. If you like cheesecake and you have to watch your sugar go here and order it. Well worth the calories! Five

From the time we walked in we wanted to sit outside because of the pandemic. They said they didn’t serve outside even though there were chairs and tables. We even called and asked if they had had outside seating and they said yes. Not telling us that they wouldn't serve there. When we got in the waiter was ok and it looked fine. We ordered eggs, it was most likely concentrate. If your going to order there do not get the eggs scrambled. The sausages were way to salty and did not taste good at all. There fountain drinks were ok but not the best coffee. They give you a soup spoon to mix ur coffee. Chewing on there bacon was like chewing on a piece of wood. Also there were stools upside down on tables behind us that weren’t very appealing, they were very dirty on the legs. So as you could assume this place is not going to be the best place to go to eat with family. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the waiter gave us what we ordered and was friendly and this place isn’t super expensive. Take my word for it, if you wanna go somewhere with family or a girlfriend do not go here, it will not impress them.

Service is very effi isn't. Food was cooked and served to specifications. Hot is hot and cold is very good and cold. Even the busboys/busgirls are gracious to assist the waitstaff. We were very pleased.

I will say that this is a very big diner and must be very popular with our beloved seniors. Place was packed. I did not particularly care much for the food as I found it over priced for no special reason and no real I have to go back again type dish. The Sandwiches and wraps were good.

The server was good and my Ruben was extraordinarily good but my mom's charbroiled burger was so burned beyond recognition and when I tasted it it was so bitter and the quality of the meat was pretty poor that it was uneditable. When we checked out the cashier and the man working behind the counter refused to help a woman ahead of me who was trying to buy bagels and cookies until I made them and they were so rude to her like somehow they were doing a favor to her by helping her. I got so mad at how they were treating her I told the man off when he kept screaming from afar over and over at her "What do you want? ! " Even though she kept saying the name of the type of cookie she wanted. Wow we may never go there again but that Ruben was incredible. Too bad.

Everyone was friendly, but Kathy was an absolute pleasure! This woman needs a raise! Will be returning just because of her!:)

This was my 4th visit to Poppies. I usually go when I'm in the area for clients. Great for breakfast. Huge portions, cooked to order fresh! I love their omelets with home fries and a bagel. I had dinner here once and it was not as good as breakfast so deduction of 1 star. My recent visit I brought my husband. I got the omelet of course which warranted 5 stars. Hubby ordered 2 breakfasts- the breakfast special which is 2 eggs any style, grits, meat, and a bagel for $6.95! He also ordered challah French toast. Honestly, too much food and we both had leftovers. Service was good and much like a NY style diner- no frills but accurate and quick, which we like. Too hungry to take photos but definitely will return. P.s. Their cakes, danish, and other pastries always look like heaven but always too stuffed to try them!

Nice ambiance. Great food. They keep their very high level service and the highest level of meals they serve. I'm coming back.

I give this place ZERO stars. How very unprofessional could one be. I called a few days ago to place a breakfast order in advance because its mothers day. I am also out of town and was sending it to an uncle for his birthday. I was told they don t take advanced orders and to call the morning of. I said again its mothers day wont it be busy? I was told no problem call that morning an hour ahead of pick up. Well today I did just that and guess what? I was told very rudely i might add that they are too busy and only walk in orders are accepted. Then before i can say anything else i was hung up on! I called back three more times only to not be picked up. Now I am out a birthday breakfast and am super annoyed. Not professional and a lier to boot! My money will never be spent here and all who I know who are in Del Ray will not be frequenting this establishment.

Hit or miss on quality of service and food. Would be much better if they could be more consistent with the quality of the food and if a couple of their rude employees would get a job somewhere else. Not confident I will go back. Shame as I used count on this place after my favorite deli (Nestor's) closed and then second favorite (Gramercy) also closed. Oy.

The place to go for that New York Diner, Long Island "home-like feel".
Great sandwiches, salads, and that hospitality that only the east coast can provide.

I just sat for 10 minutes waiting to acknowledged, watching tables that sat after you getting served. Finally a waitress w/the worst attitude came over and asked me if I was ready to order, w/out asking me for my drink order. Her demeanor was so short and nasty I just walked out. Plenty of great restaurants in the area! I’ll take my money elsewhere!

Very good very good I went with my fiance and his parents this morning for breakfast great server young gentleman but very smart very nice very efficient lots of coffee flowing don't have to ask for anything everybody smiles everybody's very polite great food and now I am not one teaser make a review or I don't like eggs very much but I went for the breakfast special with breakfast and I don't like eggs very much but whoever made the eggs made them scrambled they were so fluffy they were so good it was way too much I had to pack up half my food and give it a give it away but it was so good I recommend this place to everybody it reminds me of the rascal House and we'll face in the old days when they were actually good before they close down

This spot is my preferred one. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this place I constantly return again and again. The crew is very affectionate and the cooking they cook is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Not enough help, took 10 minutes to take my order, although the waiter was very nice and was doing the best he could to help all the tables he was assigned. Food came out cold and my girls grits were like water, was very disappointing, not to mention the people next to me walked out because of something in their food

I have been to poppies for many years with my dad. His favorite place not mine because of the soup salad with dinner.before covid. I went today because it was the year anniversary of his passing. I received my soup.appetizer and dinner all with in 20 minutes. I’m a waitress.have been for years and never ever ever delivered a full meal in 20 minutes. All was ok.editable.ok.but garlic in the the kanishes.really. I hate garlic.brought home 2 kasha and one potato to friends and even they said.omg garlic in kanishes.prices absurd.step up or close.so glad my dads gone and I never ever have to go there again
