TL;DR: Avoid Porsche of Ocala (and Gettel dealers) at all costs if you're a veteran. Would give zero out of five stars - if possible.

Update as of early-November: dealership made up for the debacle (only after I posted everything and reported) by paying for CT taxes and sending tag with 2-day delivery. Still 1/5 stars.

Car specifics: I purchased a vehicle from the Gettel network of dealerships at Porsche of Ocala in mid-May 2023. (I didn't buy a Porsche btw, just so that's clear.) It is currently Sunday, October 29th and I do not have a regular tag and cannot drive my car as my temporary tag expired on June 22,2023. This is unacceptable.

The backstory: I am a reservist and I returned from a deployment overseas. I sold my car before deploying and needed a new car as I had a follow-on military assignment in Kansas. My residence is in Connecticut but I was in Florida visiting family and friends for a couple of weeks before my assignment in Kansas. During my month in Florida, I purchased a car and disclosed my Connecticut residency and Kansas assignment to the Gettel finance team at Porsche of Ocala. They assured me it would not be an issue. That was a lie.

I have done my due diligence with the Connecticut DMV and the solution lies in one tax form (DR-123) that needs to be re-filled out and re-submitted to a specific Connecticut DMV employee via email. Then I can pay the proper tax payment in Connecticut (it is about a $2,000 difference) and receive my tag. I have called and emailed across all these months, giving the Gettel team (s) an ample amount of time to work the DMV bureaucracy. But I've just been ignored. Gettel literally wants a veteran to pay double the taxes for a vehicle. I just spent nine months living a container in the desert and I come home to this? Really? Gettel gave me the typical 'Thank you for your service' to my face and the you know what, behind my back.

So again: Went to the dealership, told them my situation, they assured me it wouldn't be an issue and now I have a car with a tag that expired in June. JUNE. All because they can't be bothered filling out a form.

Customer service was excellent. Our car was serviced, and it was done very professionally. We are very satisfied and will be glad to come back.

Be Careful with them. Ran my credit report X2. Once for them and once for the bank. Offered me half as much for my trade-in as any other dealership. Called me 5 times a day until they found another buyer. Then completely went Casper on me with emails and calls.

I had an unbelievable experience today! I took delivery of a 2024 911 Turbo and had an incredible time. Samantha Alvarez did a great job helping me through the process. Scott Prince kept me informed during the build and arrival. John Wheeler made everything easy in the business office Kudos to the Porsche of Ocala Team. I look forward to visiting and doing business with again!

Best Porsche dealership ever! Modern and clean facilities. Variety of good snacks.
All staff members are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Advisors and sales people are very knowledgeable.
100% recommended. They’re my family now

Reached out about a pre owned Audi, they added a $1099 Pre Delivery Service charge and a $1995 Average Investment Recondition charge to the selling price. These dealerships are getting out of control with the bogus fees, State of Florida truly needs to address this. Pure theft. Definitely won’t be shopping here again. Management, you should be ashamed of these shady practices.

Had a car listed for 3 different prices online. They claimed they did not control the 3rd party websites price (which is a lie). Lied about the requirement that the plates had to be done at the dealer. Wanted to charge additional dealer fees to bring the car up to $2000 over listed price. I will not be advising any one shop here and will also sharing this information with the Orlando chapter of our enthusiast club. Disappointed too since I was refereed to this dealer for positive experiences in the past but it seems all that has changed.

My son has a 911 Porsche. We live in CT so seeing this dealership I had to ck out the merchandise and glad I did. I was able to purchase a his & her limited 911 shirts. All the employees were very polite and friendly. Definitely will be back!

What a massive waste of time. So unbelievably unorganized, we called Saturday about a 2022 Escalade that Porsche of Ocala had, we get connected to a gentleman named Nareet who introduces himself as not a salesman but will help us, we made an appointment to see the vehicle Monday at 5: 30 and Nareet put us in a text with a salesman who never responded. As per Nareets request, we texted at 5pm and let them know we were on our way, no response…. We drive an hour on our Monday evening to walk into a very confused salesman who informed us the car was sold yesterday, the sales manager, Scott came out and his amazing response was “well that’s embarrassing” than proceeded to stand around with his hands in his pockets until we awkwardly left. I in no way feel as if the vehicle should have been held for me or anything, but why in the world was I not informed of it being sold? Even after texting and informing them I was on my way to see it! Two hours of pointless driving this Monday evening for nothing, poor management and a very poor way to handle the situation. Can not believe this team is in charge of selling Porches!

Fantastic all-around automotive experience. I had used Porsche of Ocala some years ago and had a luke warm feeling over them at the time. I recently had the opportunity to use the new location and I am very, very impressed. The bottom line is "People make the dealership. " The men and women at Porsche of Ocala go the extra mile in every aspect to make sure that your automotive needs are met quickly and efficiently. If you want a Porsche, go there. If you have a Porsche and need service, go there.

Why do you list cars on car gurus that are not in stock, not even in transit. Listed a car to be custom order is a waste of peoples time.
