Potter's Wax Museum reviews
20This wax museum was a nice trip to add on to our day. It was a great experience but sadly it's not the type of place you need to go to twice with the same people. My little girl was so scared she clinched on to me tightly the entire time we walked through there. And if I walked to close to the figures she would begin to cry. The area is a High tourist area so expect a lot of traffic by cars and people walking.
It's an awesome wax museum the only thing I was disappointed about was Michael Jackson wasn't there for my grandson to take a picture with him they probably need to take him off the website
Absolutely worth it! I loved the wax figures and the collection of old drug store bottles and packages! The ladies inside were very knowledgeable and nice to talk to!
It looks like an small and old place, but it has so many wax sculptures! Presidents, founder fathers, musicians, scientifics, and more.it is the older and best wax museum I have visited!
My wife and I had a great time experiencing the history and enjoying all the incredible wax characters, the price is very reasonable.
Amazing! So much fun for all ages! There's one room that the friendly woman up front warned us could be a tiny bit scary (hall of horrors with Frankenstein and other scary figures) but they actually did fine!
Had fun looking around at the potter's museum and learning how it came to be and how they created some of the most realistic historical wax figures. We parked behind the museum and went in. They also have a lil shop in front where you buy tickets. $13.99 adults and kids $7.99. Staff is very friendly and can help answer any questions you may have. Great price for how much work they put into making them. Takes 6 mths to a year to make one detailed wax figure using real hair and I think prosthetic teeth and eyes. Interesting to read about each character as you walk through and even play some of the music and answer some fun quizzes on the walls. Bigger than what I had thought and hope they expand with more. Just gave me ideas on who they should make next. Lol Like maybe some popular social influencers or Lucille ball, Alfred Hitchcock or love more additional presidents. What they have are awesome, detailed and the expressions on some very nice n creepy. Lol. The bathrooms are good. Has a baby changing station and seen some wax heads in there as you go in. They also have a small fun horror section.
The first wax museum. It was my first time going to a wax museum and I was creaped out because it felt like everything was looking at me. Loved that tgey gave us the history before going in.
Very interesting. The FIRST wax museum in the United States! And here I thought it was Madame Tussauds!
So many great scenes and the detail of the figures is truly amazing!
Don't miss the exhibit hidden behind the doors in the corner in the back. It's not for the kiddies.
There's also an exhibit at the end that shows the process they go through to make each figure. It's a painstaking process! Imagine having to hand place each and every hair, one by one! Especially on a figurine like Captain Jack Sparrow or Cher!
It's a must see stop on the Old Town Trolley Tour!
This place looks fairly small but they really have a rather large selection of Wax figures, some actually made by descendants of the famous MadameTussaud. Lifelike in looks and size. Surprising to see just how tall and short some of these famous people were. The skill used to create this figures is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable. A real gem and a must see for adults and children alike.
This place was so awesome. The life lime replicas of so many influential and legendary people. Each and every mannequin has the story of the legend it is depicting.
I WILL NEVER FORGET THE EXPERIENCE AT THIS PLACE IT IS AWESOME. YOU GET TO LEARN SO MUCH AND HISTORY AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE THIS PLACE IS SOME THING I WILL NEVER FORGET I WILL KEEP COMING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THE STUFF IS SO GREAT WE LOVE THIS PLACE.
This was my favorite museum while were were visiting. Really cool stuff to see. It would’ve been better if Johnny Depp was really there.
Fun for the family. Lots of life size figures to take pics with. Staff is very polite. Also have some vintage coin games for amusement.
Oh my gosh! The sculptures are works of art! The hosts will tell you about the museum before you start your self-guided tour.
Did the Ghost & Graveyard tour at night, saw his leg move, no draft.came back during the day for the full tour, his leg moved again.
We will visit again, each figure has a description with a bit of history included. I definitely didn't get to read all of them.
Gave it a 3 stars because of no discounts for seniors and they charge for children under 5. Our 4 year old could have care less of what he was seeing. The only thing he recognized was star wars. Don't recommend for kids under 12.
It's a wax museum. Kind of creepy kind of cool. I don't know if I would bring small children. My 3 year old was creeped out.
The figures were amazing! A little creepy but still very cool. I love how they had so much information with each figure. Definitely learned a few things there.
