Red Mesa Cantina, St. Petersburg FL

This place sets apart from other Mexican restaurants, they make their own homemade salsa and even sell it to go! Try the Mofongo, and duck tacos!

It's alright, portions are small and tacos lack any flavor or spice. Had way better elsewhere. Definitely not a first option but it will do in a pinch.

First timer to this place today and very pleasantly surprised. The bar was full so we sat outside by the fountain. Beautiful place. We had empanadas as the appetizer, which are out of this world, and then huevos ranchero and the breakfast quesadilla. If you are looking for authentic, delicious Mexican/Latin food, this is the spot.

Was in St. Petersburg from 10/23 to 10/26 on business and we ate at this restaurant, it was excellent, the Appetizers were great especially the guacamole. I need this recipe!

This place is great. I've been here many times. Brought two friends along for their 1st visit. They agreed the food was great.

Soo good. Had the queso w chips, tacos dorados and the street corn. The queso and tacos had just the right amount of kick. Will def go to again!

Chips are not complimentary. I'm often disappointed when Mexican Restaurants charge. It's part of the fun experience. Food wasn't too bad we had the burritos. The air conditioning was broken the day we were there so it was uncomfortable but I'm not basing my rating on it.

This is ALWAYS our FIRST STOP when we make it back to St Petersburg. This trip lived up to our memories!
Absolutely fabulous tacos with fresh ingredients and creative sauces. Great guacamole and margaritas too!

The FOOD is exquisite! This could hands down be a Michelin star restaurant if it were judged only on the food. The savory, sweet, salty, acidic, umami flavors with the textures of crunchy, soft, crisp, and juicy make for an intense eating experience with an explosion of flavors. I would love to return to this restaurant, hopefully when the same chef is working. Wow!
Our server, unfortunately, put a damper on our experience as she was nowhere to be found during our meal and disappeared for 20 minutes after we were seated. After taking a bite of brunch the food deserves 10 stars, but the service took it down a few notches because it was significant. Others entered, were seated, ordered, and were served food while we waited to place our drink AND food order together, to avoid another long wait. We sat outside which was nice today.
Parking is paid street parking, as it's downtown. The restaurant is on a corner with red awnings so it's a good location. The outside seating patio is very nice. We did not go inside but I would expect it to be very nice judging by the outdoor taste in decor. Prices were reasonable. I will return.

Good food, beautiful outdoor seating, great music, friendly staff. Food was good but $5 per mini taco was a bit much. Would suggest adding more desserts to the menu.

Outdoor dining, great friendly staff and unique perfectly ptepate food. Consistently delicious. The setting is so nice whether inside or out. Bar beverages are yummy too.

So sad to see Red Mesa downgrading their menu to the ranks of a Mexican restaurant that is replicated hundreds of times across the area. Their menu used to contain one-of-kind fusion dishes that were out-of-this-world delicious. But no more.

It wasn't awful, I prefer Red Mesa Mercado, but if you like sit down restaurants then this is the place for you. Its not as cheap as some places though

Great outdoor seating. Beautiful fountains and palms. When paired with great food, you can't beat this place. Burritos and Tacos were spot on!

WILL IS THE BEST SERVER! He made our night amazing. A true gem to the establishment. We were a large and a rowdy party for a bachelorette party. Can't recommend him and this establishment enough.

Went for my birthday and enjoyed the outside area. We ordered quest and it tasted chalky and no flavor. I ordered to tofu tacos and found they had just o.k. I added salsa to flavor them more.
