Regional Obstetric Consultants, part of Pediatrix Medical Group Downtown Jacksonville reviews
16 I cannot say enough good things about Regional Obstetric Consultants. Specifically regarding Dr. Acuna and Dr. Villano. We had to attend ROC often for two of our pregnancies. The first one was in 2015 when we found out our daughter had a severe defect. The doctor and ultrasound tech were professional and kind during a devastating time. Dr. Villano took the time to have us come back into her office and sit and listen to us and allowed us to ask questions. I will always remember her kindness and support.
Our most recent encounter was for my last pregnancy (had my baby 5/9/22) for placenta and vasa previa. We saw another doctor and Villano again in the beginning (which is always a pleasure) but saw Dr. Acuna for the remainder of our appointments after loving her on our first encounter.
WOW. Dr. Acuna was so professional and explained everything so well. Furthermore, she LISTENED to me and made me feel like I was in good hands. She helped advocate for me to be able to switch doctors when I was having trouble at my OBGYN. She was the person that supported and cared for me the most during a really difficult and stressful time. She even called me personally and in a timely manner. I think this is rare and hard to come by. She would always ask "Are you comfortable with that? " I felt like she cared about me even though she had so many patients. My baby was born healthy and safe at 35 weeks and Dr. Acuna had a huge part in this. I'm forever grateful to her and she will always have a special place in my heart.
I had an incompetent cervix and I was referred to this office from my OB/GYN and since the first day that I came to see these doctors, I had great service. They were very patient with me and help me keep my baby alive. This was my first baby so I had to do everything possible, to keep my baby alive, and and what I was diagnosed with was a very scary situation, and the doctors did everything they could to help me at every appointment I felt like someone cared. I got to see my baby in ultrasounds and every visit so that was a good thing and I saw these doctors until I was 37 weeks and I will recommend them to any patient that is experiencing any type of high risk pregnancy. I can’t think this office enough for helping me when I was in need! I can’t thank them enough!
I had a great experience! Every single team member I encountered from the girls at the front desk, the nurses, and the Doctor were wonderful. They were open and honest (which I appreciated), they were very informative, they were welcoming, encouraging, and so incredibly kind. The facility was also spotless. I would highly recommend.
Pleasant experience, staff was on point. I was in and out. Didn't take up my whole day.
The doctor was completely rude. Then after I decline certain services, he did it anyway. As well I requested my information need be shared or discussed in the room and he didn’t care and did the opposite of what I requested. Once I made him aware of my requested AGAIN. He catch an attitude and attempted to over talk me like I didn’t just remind him of my request. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone. I will need step foot in this office ever again
I was so worried after reading the reviews, but everyone in the office was so kind and encouraging. The ultrasound tech let us know about everything she was looking at and the doctor explained everything. It was a wonderful experience
The ultrasound techs are amazing very sweet and caring, the doctors are hit or miss but the front desk staff are RUDE. They give dirty looks and have a nasty attitude, there are some friendly faces at the front desk but overall they have a very nasty and ugly tone with you even if you have to have them repeat something because you couldnt hear them. This place is a complete hit or miss.
I LOVE ROC. Jessica is amazing, caring, & truly got me through the hardest pregnancy. Kathy my ultrasound tech was so patient, helpful and calming. Please don’t let the reviews scare you, this place saved my son.
Wife is currently being seen here for our second child.it's been four years since we've been here with our oldest child. The staff and doctors are great
After reading the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had a great experience. I didn't have any issues with waiting time (my appt was 8am), and Dr Villano and the staff were very nice and professional.
I’ve been here with all my pregnancies and I love my experience. I know the policy changed due to covid…. And I can understand guest not being allowed but when it comes to the fathers or first time fathers it’s kind of unfair to keep them out of the loop. They are important too and shouldn’t feel left out. Maybe you guys should rethink that possibly?
Patient with a history of preterm labor and the death of a previous child from the same complications. At the same hospital. Didn’t stop the contractions and never determined the cause. Took it upon himself to recommend she would be better off dealing with it herself at home. Patients fetal fibronectin test was positive and she was expierencing continual contraction s between. 5 and 15 minutes apart and her most recent cervical examination showed she was 1cm dialated at 29 weeks and the babies heart rate decreases during a her contractions. Still this poor excuse for a medical professional decided to risk my wife’s health and the life of my child. Either he had no regard for my child’s life or he isn’t aware of the situation and shouldn’t be making recommendations anyway. Roc has continuously recommended that she be sent home even before all of this happened and then they still even after their prognosis is shown to be completely wrong * over and over and over again* pure incompetence!
It’s an okay office! But the wait time is absolutely horrible every single appointment I’ve had it’s been over an hour or two wait! Why even have an appointment if your waiting so long?
These dr see the worst and they will tell you the worst. If you are at high risk does not mean something bad will happen. Trust God and dont trust everything the dr says. They can make mistakes. It happened to me.
Visits to downtown office was the worst part of my pregnancy.
After being told I could come to my wife's appointment during COVID, with of course a mask; but I won't be allowed to sit in the office and wait due to social distancing guidelines- weird, but acceptable considering the circumstances. I waited for almost an hour in the hallway standing! This wait was only to hear that their automated message stating "limited" visitors actually meant none at all. Moreover, the representative that answered the phone to clarify it meant one person only because I asked specifically what amount consists of limited which certainly doesn't mean prohibited, in reference to the statement of "limited" apparently was misled by the message as most callers were. A complete waste of time, mismarketing, with a lack of regard for patients' time and support.
I have had a great experience with this office. They have been going above and beyond to take care of me and my child during this high-risk pregnancy.
