Camping Store REI reviews
14I had a fantastic experience tonight at the REI in Gainesville thanks to Rosie, Brad, and Eli. I purchased a pair of ON running shoes back in September that turned out to be defective. They were extremely helpful with the return and helped me pick out a new pair of running shoes after completing a gait analysis. I was so happy with my experience here I became an REI Co-Op Member on my way out! I highly recommend this membership to anyone who shops at REI as it pays for itself after spending just $300 in one year. I can't stress enough how helpful Rosie was. Thank you for the awesome experience I had with you guys tonight.
Abby in the bike shop is awesome! I came in at 9am for bike issues and by 2pm I was out riding again! Made my bike a smoother ride and fixed all my issues! Will be going back if needed since she was so pleasant and helpful
Every time I walk in this place I spend at least $50; it's kindof a problem. Great gear, knowledgeable and helpful salespeople. I also love that all employees have their pronouns on their vests.
Also, they recently started carrying Firepot-brand backpacking meals. All vegan and a surprising amount of protein. I took home the Porcini Mushroom Risotto and will be giving it a try.
I have been in love with REI since 2002 when I first became a member; this was back in Seattle, where I was fortunate enough to be able to shop at the flagship store. If you're ever in Seattle you MUST stop in.
When I found out that REI was opening a store here I was pretty excited. The staff are always enthusiasts of outdoor adventures so they are usually knowledgeable and enthusiastic in helping you. The stores usually have a good selection of gear and anything thst isn't in stock can be sent to the store pretty quickly.
Because it is a co-op they give you a 10% dividend on the total amount you spent for the year and their return policy is phenomenal.you can return items for ANY reason at all for up to one year from purchase; no questions asked.
Now, the only downside is that their gear is pricier than what you could get at other stores but the quality is usually better and they have tons of very high quality REI brand gear that is priced lower than the name brand analogs.
I have been going to REI for years. This company is fantastic to members and has an excellent selection in the store and of course online for All outdoor sports. I have never had any issues with the gear I have purchased and if I bought the wrong thing it very easy to return or exchange. Also no bags! Saves the planet! The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. One of my favorite places!
If you are an outdoors enthusiast, this is the place. Nice gear, clothes, equipment. Food items, gadgets. We're walsy surprised at what we find here, and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. It's a must stop anytime we're in the area.
Friendly staff, great deals on gear for members. They often have massive discounts for members and becoming a member is just $30 and gets you membership for life. I was sent a good $30 coupon after getting a tent that was 40 per cent off, all in all lots of perks for shopping here and it’s a fun place to shop
Very nice outdoor clothing and good quality. Recommended not just for runners, hikers, bikers or trekkers, its for all purpose.
Clean and quality product you would expect in a typical REI store.
But you need to watch out for the “discount price”
But this store tends to false advertise discount such as putting “30% off” on a shelf full of product that not 30% off.
And when you check out, the check out terminal doesn’t show the price of each product, your only bet is to take a close look at the receipt.
It’s not one honest mistake, I personally and some of my friends has noticed and almost got by this multiple time.
My son turned 7, and we needed a new bike for him. Will and Nick in the bike shop were absolutely great people to work with during this process. Will was able to help with the sizing, offer pricing options, and really made it a great experience. The bike shop guys were thoughtful and explained everything to my son. We like the idea of the 1 year support included on the bike, the hours of the bike shop being extended to after work hours and their overall support and policies.
First time coming into an REI store and was more than pleased with the customer service of the staff. They made sure I was well prepared to work on my bike myself (by choice). The customer service by Abby was exceptional as well, as she signed me up to become a member. Would recommend!
I was in Gainesville from the UK I came here shopping and found the Mountain House foods I was looking for in Gainesville to buy. The staff were good and helpful.
Thank you.
Beautiful store, staff was very helpful in finding things and just talking while you compared items.
Kudos to the bike shop there. We brought our E bikes in for a tuneup and they were very quick and professional in their work.
