Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Aventura Mall

My family of four stayed at the Aventura hotel for five nights in February. The hotel was in good condition. Our one bedroom suite room was clean. Our room was quiet and on the side overlooking the pool. We had to ask for extra towels, for some reason we only had three bath towels even though we had 4 people on our reservation. Also, when they cleaned our room after a couple of days, we again didn't have enough towels. Housekeeping was quick in bringing extra towels though.

The pool area is nice, although it doesn't get sun until around 11 and then only partial sun, afternoon is best if you want some sun. There really need to be more chairs around the pool also, one afternoon there were no available chairs. One big bonus of this hotel is that they have a hot tub! It is difficult to find a hotel with a functional hot tub these days. The only downside to the pool is that smoking is allowed at the outdoor tables next to the pool, so when people are smoking there, it wafts over into the pool area. That is very annoying, especially when there are kids having to breathe the smoke at the pool. Also, there are not always towels at the pool, one night we had to go in dripping wet because there were no towels.

The location of the hotel is great, the Aventura Mall is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It has tons of restaurants and stores. Be sure to check out the giant slide there! There is also a Publix within walking distance which was very convenient. It's about a 10 or 15 minute drive to Sunny Isles Beach and there are several other beaches within a reasonable drive also. The Everglades aren't terribly far also.

The breakfast buffet was good and what you normally see at a Residence Inn. I have never seen such a busy breakfast area at any hotel. It was packed every morning. They have oatmeal, waffle irons for make your own waffles, fruit, eggs and a variety of other items.

I wish the hotel had their tea and coffee bar open all day like many other hotels do, but theirs is locked up in the breakfast area after breakfast hours. Also, there is no water cooler in the gym, which I thought was odd. I wanted to use the laundry room to do laundry before we left, but all of the laundry rooms were out of service, which was rather inconvenient.

Overall, this was a nice hotel and mostly what one would expect of a Residence Inn. We enjoyed our stay.

Room smelled like smoke. You have to call for maintenance every time you want to open or close a window? And pretty unaccommodating/unhelpful front desk staff the morning of my check out.

From the minute I Checked in, till the minute I checked out, there was always somebody there to help me,
with a smile on their face, great job keep up your work, Breakfast in the morning was outstanding the service the cleanliness and the willing from every staff member to help you, Definitely come back It's also very femily friendly with kids, Staff members walking around and asking the people what else can I do for you

The hotel is just perfect! Great breakfast, great amenities, rooms are clean and all refurbished. Staff if so kind!

We had a great and amasing experience, in the Hotel RESIDENSE Inn by Merriot Aventura Fl, at the front desk, with the reception: Melina, Camila and Manoel, in the arriving and departing with Valentina, Anabelle and Ruth!
The apartment was fantastic, clean, new, double bedrooms separated by a room and kitchen.
All the team with attention, kindness, happiness, lovely.

The water could have been hotter.didn't love the very noisy AC and no espresso machines, not that I saw.

2nd year staying at this hotel and it was wonderful! Pool and hot tub are exceptional. Rapheal was super patient and so personable even with difficult guests. He deserves a raise! Thank you staff of Residence Inn for exceptional service.

Definitely overpriced, you can stay at way way better places for the same price or cheaper.

STAY AWAY. When we first checked in the front desk tried to overcharge us $190 usd claiming that the taxes were not included. When we proved that they were in fact included with the reservation on hand she tried to make up new taxes that don’t exist, when that didn’t work either she claimed that in order to provide an upgrade that we deserve by being titanium Marriott members she had to charge extra. So when we said we didn’t want the upgrade, she had no other excuses and had to give us the upgrade anyway. Also, this property is still using the very well expired COVID excuse to not clean the room. Even though we paid $450 per night, we don’t deserve clean towels, clean sheets and they expect you to clean after yourself even though we paid good money to stay at a hotel to not have to make the bed and broom the room while on vacation. They tried to blame it on the county but when I asked to see the letter the county sent to them stating that rooms should be cleaned every two days (probably 3 years old) regarding COVID, they declined to show it to me.

This hotel wins with modern rooms and the location can not be beat. We stayed here before our Disney Cruise trip and had a wonderful time. The hotel is probably the nicest Residence Inn I’ve ever seen and behind it is a world class mall with high end stores and great restaurants. Right across the street is the JW Marriott that has a great water park and tickets are easy to come by. This will be our go to hotel when visiting Miami/ Ft Lauderdale.
