Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Beach Surfside

Osni was the first person to greet us upon entering this wonderful hotel. She is kind, welcoming and made us feel at home. Jose was working at the pool bar/ grill. He went out of his way to find food for my daughter who is VEGAN. He was not going to be happy until she was happy. I will definitely return to this hotel. All employees that we encountered were amazing. Highly recommended!

The price of garage parking on the premises is outrageous. Most of the garage is empty. Cars that could be parked there are on the streets, making it almost impossible to find a space. Why can't they lower parking for the guests?

I pick my hotels based off their breakfast and location. This hotel is a great hidden gem in the quieter part of town with a great healthy breakfast for gym rats (unlimited protein options like sausages, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, oatmeal with various toppings options, spinach, whole wheat bagels). Room air circulation was also great and is some of the best sleep i’ve gotten compared to other residence inn’s i’ve stayed in. You can also take a bus or uber easily to nightlife down the road.

Great location and it is walking distance to the beach-clean rooms- nice pool area-really appreciate the upgraded room. I'm just a bit concerned about check in process. Called day before to request early check in bc I was flying in on an early flight like 6 am and would arrive at approx 11 am. Told me hotel will b at 100% capacity and uncertain about early check in but call the next day. Called again after i landed and they told me there's a wait list but still no gurantee. Once I made to the hotel, I was added to the wait list at approx 12 pm -there three people ahead of me and the room wasn't ready until 3: 30 pm.if someone calls 24 hours in advance and traveling from out of town, it would helpful to get added to the wait list for the next day verses waiting until someone arrived at the facility. Also, we didn't have a working TV when we arrived in the room.

Location is perfect, one block from the beach.
The room was ok, first they gave us an awful one but we asked for a change and the second room was much better.
Included breakfast is the usual, but is pretty good.
Customer service I would say good, although when we arrive at midnight the front desk person was so rude.
They charge $30 resort fee which includes pool, beach towels, chairs and umbrellas…. Which they have a few only… so If you want to have a shade pick your umbrella as early as possible. Parking fee is $50… watch for that too…

The room we stayed in was spacious, nice and clean. The hotel made sure that we had everything we needed.
I liked the location of the hotel. It wasn't in the heart of everything, but very short access to everything.
Only wish they had more breakfast options. Enjoyed the fact, that they had bikes that you could get if you wanted to ride alone the beach.

Very HORRIBLE experience! The room smells like mildew and the hotel is very cheap. The breakfast is horrible. The only options they had was boiled eggs, spinach in the raw, yogurt, water down oatmeal, bead that is stale, and veggie sausage Pattie’s, and microwaveable bacon. When booking I was told many other breakfast foods would be served such as grits, pancakes, French toast, and omelet. When scheduling we scheduled for 4 people. The room was accommodating for only 2 people. It took them about a hour to bring us bedding for the other two people on our reservations. Wi-Fi did not work at all. Multiple trips to front desk and wifi didn’t work. Also the area has very bad service for TMobile customers. The staff is horrible with customer service and don’t understand English well. The Director of Operations Carlos Young said all he could assist with is $50 credit and said he doesn’t have proof of any other circumstances that my family had to experience with our stay. Definitely will not return. Horrible hotel. They need to close for remodeling and hire new staff members to run the hotel correctly. Horrible experience in Miami with this hotel.

The cleanliness of the property was nice. However, the staff was very rude and I was never greeted as I waited for service. Everyone spoke Spanish which was okay. After 30 minutes of waiting on service I was told that check in time was at 4pm! And if I didn’t want to wait I can try another hotel! By the clerk! That was very disappointing and disrespectful and I took it as my money wasn’t good enough n not wanted. So, I didn’t hesitate to find another place to stay! I will be reaching out to corporate office to report the clerk!

This place was FABULOUS. Our king studio was beautiful, and even included a full size fridge. The service was beyond friendly and responsive. They sent an email after check-in to see how it went. When I mentioned a light was out in our bathroom and the bathtub faucet dripped, they were there next day to repair! I can't say enough about the amenities. Your stay includes beach chairs, towels, breakfast (not much for kosher consumers, kosher yogurt would have been fantastic), beach umbrella, beach bikes, and a glorious pool with a dj playing all day. We literally made a full vacation just from the hotel amenities. This was a couples vacation with my husband, but I would definitely return with the kids.

I stayed at this hotel and will be going back anytime I stay in Miami, it was the best!
When I checked in Christophe greeted me and was so welcoming I immediately felt comfortable and at home. Christophe made sure I was completely taken care of and was so personable and kind. I travel often and have stayed at many Marriott properties around the world and the hospitality at this property was one of a kind. Beautiful pool and courtyard for lounging. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for nice ocean days. The room was so spacious and modern. Room temperature could be changed within minutes. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Location of this hotel was perfect for a night in Miami and then back to a nice quiet safe Surfside.

SCAM/FRAUD ALERT! They have charged our card 4 times so far, each time big sums! Twice $1300, $1500, & $1600! No one can explain what is going on or fix it. We used 2 different cards between reservation (via expedia) and check in (@ hotel) and they have been charging BOTH cards. Something shady is going on here.

Overall, this experience was not the best. I actually tried to change hotels in the middle of my stay.

Maid service 1/10: rarely came by, came by one morning at 9am and the next day at 5pm. When asked to not disturb, they gave my family one new towel per day. They made our bed with DIRTY sheets that had stains, that were not ours.when asked to change the sheets while we were out, they stated they did, we checked and they had not. So we asked them to come back up and change them in front of us.

Bar service 8/10: the bartenders were awesome. The two guys were the best, super talkative and great personalities. Isaiah and one other gentleman. I wish the drinks were a little stronger though- we’re at the beach!

Hotel staff 2/10: I actually had a staff member hang up on me over asking for a late check out. She was extremely rude. The other staff members didn’t seem to really care about their jobs and were not super polite. They would not speak English in front of me and therefore I couldn’t understand them.

Pool area 8/10: The cabanas at the pool and the multiple areas offered for shade and sun were awesome. However, I do wish they had multiple pools like other hotels because kids took over the pool screaming and playing multiple days so I couldn’t just lay and tan.

Room service/ Food 4/10: there is no room service. They just opened a small snack menu at the pool, but they will not bring it to your room. We ended up having to buy groceries and food out for lunch and dinner which was inconvenient to not have a food source at the hotel.

Parking 0/10: outrageous to pay $40 per day for parking after already paying flight and rental car costs.

Amenities 2/10: I liked having the bikes and beach chairs. We used the bikes a lot to go to Publix. However, the fact that the hotel charges $30 per day whether or not you use them, is ridiculous. For a week, we paid almost $300 and we still had to buy a beach umbrella that we had to end up leaving. You are provided 2 drinks per day per person for free from 4pm-5pm that is included in this cost, but they do not advertise this so most people miss out.

We stayed for 3 nights, this hotel was great for the price. Across the street from the beach, having chairs and towels was nice which was included in the resort fee. The breakfast was good for a quick bite. The room was clean, there is daily room service we chose not to use it for a few days just requested for new linens. Parking garage was underneath the hotel for a fee but better then looking for street parking. I’d recommend this hotel and we would def stay again here.

Beautiful review looking out towards the ocean & Collins AVE. The ocean is 400 steps from the front door of the Hotel. They gave me a lawn chair & beach towels to take with us to the water. Nice pool area with Cabana's and a pool bar. Close to good restaurants on Harding Ave.just 2 blocks away.
