I cannot say enough good things about this office. Dr. Berkowitz very personable and a straight forward talker. I knew exactly what I was getting into. The staff very helpful answering all my questions and concerns. Even when I had to call the response was with in the hour. It’s nice that the physical therapy “The Hop” is right there in the same office. These girls are great with their patients. They offer encouragement and support to get you moving. Having a knee replacement is not for the soft hearted but all these people involved help ease the pain and move forward with life. I appreciate all of you. Lora

About two years ago, I saw Dr. Berkowitz for a second opinion for my hip. He reviewed my history while explaining the x-rays and previous work that been done. His recommendation saved me from an extensive surgery that wasn’t necessary. My hip responded to treatment and I was normal within two weeks.

When my knee started bothering me, of course, I went back to him…. My savior! I loved his explanation comparing knee to tires. Tires has guarantee of so many miles, so when the treads get to the point that you need new tire, it’s time for a new knee. He prepared me for the time that I would need the total knee replacement. After a fall on the knee, I was ready for my “new tire”.

His office is finely tuned to your needs. His staff is outstanding. When I agreed to the surgery,
his Surgical Coordinator arranged everything, his medical assistant was happy to answer any questions which alleviated many questions. Prior to the surgical procedure, I attended a 3 hour
orientation which was all encompassing, it prepared me for the surgery, answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable with the process.

After knee surgery, it was necessary to have physical therapy. I had been to locations that
were subpar. His office has On The Move Physical Therapy. The staff is incredible as they taught me so many things that has helped me. Their staff is attentive, friendly and extremely responsive and helpful. Shout out to Jojo, Melissa, Tracey and Jill. I especially appreciated having a pool. After a few weeks passed by, it was a delight to have exercises in the water.

In my opinion, University Orthopedics is a “one stop” office with outstanding friendly employees, offering help, but their coordinated care center is beyond anyone’s expectation.
Any surgical procedure is stressful BUT, the difference between my hip replacements in North Florida versus my knee replacement was like a well-oiled machine. The attention to detail, a staff well trained who care to help you and a talented, professional orthopedic surgeon.

I have seen many orthopedic specialists in my lifetime, but Dr. Berkowitz is exceptional. His knowledge and technical precision is distinguished, impressive. His ability to communicate to you in an easy way to understand and I appreciate how open, easy personality that you resonate toward him. I especially enjoy when he walks in with a big smile, treats you like he has known you forever and puts me at ease. In a simple words, Dr. B is a 5+ star rating for me.

Been in his care by 9 years… but after my last visit June 2023, lose all trust on this clinic.
I refuse knee shots because the 3 sessions give more pain than the relief of the shots. I asked for a new knee braces referral, but the Dr denied it, claiming he never has giving one.i explain that yes, after arguing about, they asked for proof of the referral. Assigning Assistant Kathleen Lewis to take care.
I sent email with proof of the referral issued in Feb 2022, i call several times to the assistant.but after a few weeks trying to communicate with them, I understood that i was no longer a viable “economic customer “.
Sad but ending a good impression in this way, denotes a poor judgement and despise to patients.

My knees feel incredible compared to the pain was in. I highly recommend Dr. Berkowitz and I recommend doing both at the same time.

Dr Berkowitz very very in professional maybe he doesn’t like African American patients he was very nasty to me for no reason this happened about three years ago never will I go back to him

This is the worst Dr. He said my mom would be driving in 3 wks after her hip replacement and she now has severe nerve damage from him after 5 months. My mom is in so much pain and cannot walk. I would avoid this doctor at all costs if u want to have a quality of life! He puts on a good front, but once the surgery is done, he’s done with u!
