Riptide RV Resort & Marina / Sun Outdoors Key Largo

My husband and I stayed in one of the motel rooms. It was very clean. Nicely decorated. Really cool barn door. The mattress was some type of memory foam which was extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was ice cold. There is also a beautiful ceiling fan. The shower stall seemed about 10 foot long. Very, very big. The office staff was very nice. It was a very quite resort. The pavilion was nice and there was also a nice grill. Parking was great for our one vehicle. We would definitely recommend.

We rented a cottage that slept 4 comfortably. Very clean & well maintained RV Resort. We had a great time fishing from the dock and mingling with other guest/residents. Family also came to visit for a small fee of $5 pp. Would gladly return to this RV Resort.

The place offers boat ramp and dock. I got there with my boat and I was told that there wasn't any space for my boat, that I was supposed to be asked in my reservation if I was bringing a boat. I wasn't asked the question so, I took my boat and ended up having to pay a storage near by wish it wasn't cheap. Management didn't even tried to help.

Hotel room was nice! Don't think I would stay there again for the price. But I was there to fish, not relax in a room. Only a select few had a view of the water. Beach area was very small!

Was familiar with Sun RV Resort Parks and reserved here based on prior experience with this brand. Plusses: Hugh open bedroom, full kitchen. Room was spotless and cold. Quiet at night. Right on the water.
Minor issues: There is no closet. Some attention was needed for interior fixtures (towel rack too loose & came apart/shaky lamp) No Mgr.in office on weekends.
It was perfect for my event filled, 3 day visit. I would definitely return, and refer to others.

BEWARE! I would not recommend to stay here even if it was free. First off, if you own a boat do not stay here! The have to have the smallest boat ramp of all of the Keys. There is absolutely no parking and as for management- there is none. The residents pretty much run the whole place. But for the worst part of all, there are owners/residents that live on property treat paying visitors like outsiders. They even blocked the entrances to the boat ramp and had to end up going to paying to go to another marina.

Small rooms, clean and nice site, but hot water was at best lukewarm and very little pressure. WiFi was terrible and don’t bother paying the $7 a day for the WiFi upgrade it isn’t any better. Nothing onsite for children, very small beach. Value for $$’s I would score it a 1 star at best.

Unfortunately, there is no chance we will be returning to this place and To begin with, communication from the outset was poor. I had initiated contact via FlipKey in which I was contacted by an agent on the phone. I returned the call that evening, but hadn't really decided on final plans, so I wasn't comfortable booking that night. The agent had quoted me $582 for the 4 night stay. I had my fiance call back a week later, the agent had no idea who I was, what nights, or anything even though I told her I would call back. When he did get the details straight with her, she then gave us the price $810. I was thoroughly disappointed, but my fiance had booked before I arrived home that night, so I no chance to tell him no.

Communication prior to arrival was extremely poor. I received our receipt and replied to the email address in the receipt asking for an explanation of why the price difference. There was 0 reply. 2 months later, the night prior to our trip, I still had not received check-in information so I called the number on the receipt as well as the emergency help number. Neither one was answered or returned my call that evening. The next day I called again in the afternoon in my last attempt before we cancelled all together thinking we had no where to stay, and finally I got a call back with instructions of how to pick up the key.

Upon arrival, there was an overpowering smell of marijuanna. Neither he nor I smoke at all, so it was beyond frustrating, uncomfortable, and outright unacceptable. I waited the night out, hoping the smell would disapate. When I woke up and it hadn't gotten better, again I sent a message to the email on the card in the room with absolutely no response all weekend. By day 3, I couldn't take it anymore because it was still causing me to sneeze and wake up with a sore throat, so we left a day early.

The front door didn't lock with the dead bolt because the hole was offset 1/4" too high and you could barely get the key out of the lock. The closet doors were hung too low and wouldn't slide on the track. There was only 1 roll of single ply toilet paper

You have to compete with housekeeping to use the laundry facilities. They do have free ice it is a nice view of the bay.

My main interaction there has been with Danny. Let me tell you, he is an outstanding guy and makes it a pleasure to be there!

I enjoyed my vacation at Riptide. The room was very clean and has everything I need. The tenants are very friendly and the staff are nice and accommodating. My friends showed up to stay with me and every one was impressed.
The boat ramp and the access to the gulf is very convenient too.

Perfect clean & new room with all for an small visit & a quiet small beach place (when we where here)
Love it and recommend it for sure.

The place was great the the cottage wonderful but the manager was very very rude and watching over you like a Watch dog and overall ruined my weekend.

We were not expecting this beautiful brand new cottage with a view of the water. Amazing views of the sunset. Friendly people, snorkeling, swimming, and fishing. Also, a nice area to hanging out in sun, eat, drink, and be merry. Thank you:)

Stayed in a new cabin, was great, but would have been nice to have a few finishing touches like dishwashing liquid. Otherwise fantastic! Chilled vibe, nice very little private beach, fab sunsets

Points négatifs: office fermant à 14h, douche sale + fourmis, draps tachés, machine à café prévue non présente, pas de double vitrage (route pile devant, voisinage)

Points positifs: plage en bout d'aller, camping

Maximum 1 nuit pour dépanner en étape.
