River city kitchen, and Bath
“top notch experience”

People often write reviews full of complaints and criticism while great experiences often go unappreciated, uncomplemented and unmentioned.

Last year I was looking to upgrade my bathrooms. My house is 22+ years old and it really needed some kind of facelift in all the bathrooms. To my dismay, the original white cabinets which were supposed to be all wood & top of the line were peeling and the bath mirrors were starting to discolor around the edges.

All of bathroom spaces just looked tired.
Because of budget constraints, I knew most likely I would not be able to do all the bathrooms at once. Timing was going to be a key element in accomplishing our goals for these bathroom upgrades.
Originally, I started looking at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and then at bath fitters. Lowes and Home Depot were OK but it seemed that they had a minimum purchase requirement on materials such as granite and quartz, whether or not you happened to need that minimum. I certainly didn’t want to spend $1800+ plus on something I wasn’t going to use. I also didn’t want to be a contractor and find my own subs on services they weren’t able to handle.
Bath fitters seemed great during our over the phone meet and greet discussions. When they came out to the house, I was disappointed that who showed up was not the representative that was assign to my project. The gentleman that took my appointment did offer his apologies but to my amazement knew nothing of my previous conversations. Needless to say, I decided me doing business with them was a definite “No way”!

Sadly after that experience, I really didn’t think bath upgrades were in my future.

To my surprise…. Several months later, while driving down race track Road heading for home, I noticed River City Kitchen and bath on my right.
I made a call to them that next Saturday and I spoke to Angela. She was super sweet. I made an appointment to drop by the store to introduce myself. I scheduled an appointment for Daniel the owner to come by my home. He measured all the bathrooms, and I gave him some ideas of what I wanted to accomplish. He was so patient with me. We worked out every detail
And I signed a contract to moved forward with just two bathrooms (the pool bath, and the downstairs guest bath). He was able to give me ideas of how to stay in my budget balancing by my needs and wants!

I’m delighted to say, I love these two upgraded bathrooms! The guest bathroom looks amazing and the new linen closet in the pool bath is my favorite favorite favorite thing. It gives me so much room to store all my pool towels, as well as all dog medications, and grooming supplies for my three Dalmatians!

Daniel is a great contractor - he is also a fantastic and caring person

Due to the facts that…I love my two remodeled baths, things went smoothly, and the communications during the project exceeded my expectations…

I now am moving forward with the second part of my project- the master bath, the upstairs bathroom, as well as a small cabinet upgrade in my laundry room!
I am so looking forward to seeing these finished projects

If you’re looking for a remodel or a fresh look for a bathroom, kitchen, or even a laundry room consider speaking to Daniel at River city Kitchen & Bath

I was initially quoted 1 month from start to finish for my job. It lasted over 4 months and I'm unsatisfied with the results.

The owner of River City Kitchen and Bath is deceitful and fails to take responsibility for the people he brings on to the job site. He has an excuse for everything but at some point he needs to stop pointing the finger at his subcontractors and take responsibility for the job he’s supposed to be managing. He mentioned several times it was his policy to check in on jobs only after each stage of the project is completed. He stated several times the quality of work and service happening on this job were not typical for his business. I would have expected his presence more frequently as the project was constantly being delayed and mistakes were being made left and right due to his lack of project management.

In the end I had to accept a lipstick on a pig job because I was exhausted and worn down living in a construction zone and babysitting the work myself. There were things like incorrect materials being used that stuck out to me, without me having any experience in the field. The brand new shower pan that was constructed didn’t drain in 3 places. The solution was to install tile over tile to fix it. Cracked, chipped and unmatched tiles from different tile lots were installed throughout the shower. The wrong trim was installed and tiles had to be removed to fix this. Removing installed tile from the Schulter waterproofing system after it has been installed and dried makes the waterproofing more susceptible to failure. Tile cuts around fixtures are visible around almost every fixture. Plumbers were sloppy, improperly installing crooked (and leaky) fixtures and slathering silicone caulk over thousands of dollars of new hardware. In the last week of the project, I discovered they had installed a shower faucet with no hardware and simply caulked the entire thing in place.

Zero house protection was used except a couple of his subs put paper down in traffic areas. We came home after Christmas to our entire living room, dining room, and kitchen covered in tile dust because they had been cutting tile on our balcony with the door open. There are times the owner tried to fix things/make things right but his actions were always reactionary, and the fixes often caused other problems.

The overall layout for the shower is bad, I brought up several concerns during the design consultation but he told us my concerns were not issues, and I trusted his “expertise” at the time. Now that the shower has been installed, I can see the concerns we brought up were completely legitimate.

At the “end” of the project there were still several things I was unhappy with but felt I had already given more than enough chances over the course of the last 4 months. I was not confident they could be remedied in any sort of timely fashion. Every time I had given them a chance to fix something, they messed something else up and I was done watching the subcontractors stumble over themselves.

After a couple of days, I had to reach out to him to notify him his subcontractors “completed” the project. I was stunned when I was offered a less than 2% discount at the end of the job. When I said I disagreed with the discount, I was immediately threatened with a lien on my property. A week later I was offered an additional discount (still under two percent) which I declined as I’d prefer to warn others about the experience I had then accept an unacceptable discount.

I would caution anyone considering River City Kitchen and Bath to note the reviews on this page are divisive, either 1 or 5 stars. If you do your research you will see the bitter responses to negative reviews that I now share a similar experience with.

My wife and I recently had a townhome built, however we weren’t crazy about the kitchen countertops that the builder had installed, so we wanted to find a company that could remove our existing quartz countertops and replace them with ones that we picked out. After taking over nine months to build the townhome and seeing the lack of quality workmanship you get nowadays, I had reservations of switching out the countertops for fear that we would end up worse off than when we started. We stopped in River City Kitchen and Bath and met Daniel, the owner of the company, and after talking with him for only a few minutes, I knew we were in the right place. He walked us through the entire process from picking out the quartz to his final inspection of the installation. Our new quartz kitchen countertops are absolutely gorgeous! The quality of the workmanship is unsurpassed! Daniel made sure that our countertops were totally seamless, something that I had never seen before! Daniel truly cared whether or not the job was done right, while making sure we stayed totally satisfied with every aspect of the project. That’s a characteristic that you rarely find anymore. We highly recommend River City Kitchen and Bath and will definitely hire again!

Had the owner of the company come out to give me a quote for remodeling my kitchen. He said it would take about 2 weeks. When I called to check up on the quote I was told that it was not ready. When I called back another week later I was told that the owner had already told me multiple times that they don't reinstall cabinets, so no quote was even being worked up. If they weren't working on a quote, not sure why when he left my house and when I talked to him on the phone he said that that I would be getting a call to go over plans and the quote. So obviously, the owner forgot what was discussed during our consult, and decided to treat a potential customer in such a rude and unprofessional manner. I would however, recommend KDC, Kitchen Design Cabinets. Very professional, courteous and great to work with! My new kitchen is stunning with new cabinets and countertops! It's unrecognizable!

Just got done with one more job refreshing a new old house. Daniel and his team redid our much outdated kitchen with no storage and the cabinet side of the primary bathroom. Angela designed a perfect fix for a kitchen with no storage and Daniel and his subcontractors brought it to life. Was more than pleased with all the subcontractors that came into my home. The cabinet installer was meticulous and their drywall guys did an awesome job, with so little dust left behind it was hard to believe they accomplished what they did. My too small bifold pantry is now a tall cabinet that I use as a butler's pantry and the other tall cabinets supply all the storage one could need with wonderful pull out shelving. I appreciated that Daniel supported my desire for natural maple cabinets, as I love how they change with age. A few other folks tried to talk me into fancier things that weren't our style. Daniel's design help when I saw the beautiful blue cabinets and his suggestion of the perfect countertop has us on the way to an awesome primary bath space. I also appreciated that they didn't try to talk me out of leaving intact perfectly fine tile floors. I love my new kitchen look and functionality and can't wait to finish the bathroom this summer (when only one of us has to go to work in the morning.) This was not my first rodeo with home improvement and I must say it went better than I could have dreamed and have experienced previously! I spoke to 3 different companies and am so glad we chose Daniel and River City. Attached pics, except sink side which was a little messy.

Don't even bother attempting to use River City Kitchen and Bath as they do not respect your precious time! Took day off of work for my scheduled estimate and he Cancelled on us day of with no phone call ahead. I managed to get him to give me a ball park estimate over the phone anyway. OMG so overpriced! We are done here.

I chose Daniels company through a friend. I’m glad I did. As i am familiar with construction I know that there will be bumps in the road, there always is with construction. My job turned out beautiful and Daniel showed up to check on the job the entire time it was being installed. I’m so glad I chose Daniels company. Quality work at a fair price.

Given everything has been taking forever I expected it but not to have a kitchen for 3 months was a little much. Sub par contractors with the exception of the cabinet installer who was his dad. All the subs were sub par. Wouldn't use them again! And don't recommend!

NIGHTMARE from beginning to end. Eight weeks without a kitchen and sink because they measured wrong. Bought 30" and needed 27" cabinet. Asked for all pull out shelves and got 1. Then told I can pay for the rest. Put a 22 foot dumpster in my driveway and brought trash from other jobs. Then said they have no control when it will be picked up. Cut my existing pipes too short so now it is jerry riged and to top it off they filed a lien for additional backsplash that I never got. Not to mention they went thru 2 PM's during all this. So paid them 24,500 and they file a lien for 1400. What a joke!
