Great place! Food was delicious, music was nice and the service excellent and very friendly.

A great course for all levels! Located in the lovely gated community of River Hills in beautiful Valrico, you can't go wrong. Club is fantastic with the BEST staff. Everyone's friendly and the course. Well its in fantastic shape. The GM Bob is awesome as is evident by condition of course. The Food & Bev guy Shane really knows what he's doing. We had a grad party there and it ROCKED. Try the grouper - or anything else on menu - won't disappoint.

I just joined and love it. It’s about the only place that actually has grass on the range. Most places outside of Riverhills is dirt ranges. Pace of play is perfect. Tee times seem to be 20 min a part from each other that keeps the pace moving always. I usually play in under 4 hours. The only thing I really wish they had was more grass in some of the fairways. Not as plush as it should be. But I will take that over all dirt.

We had the best grouper along with stuffed mushroom pasta and those wonderful pretzel sticks. We will definitely be back to enjoy other specials from their chef. The service from Jaydon our server was top notch.

The private, gated community of River Hills has a history that dates back to 1988 when the first homes were built. Now, more than 1160 families call this deed-restricted, multi-village community home and several PGA, LPGA, Champions Tour players have been Members at River Hills over the years.

General Manager Bob Swezey has been instrumental in the resurgence of River Hills. Swezey was at River Hills in the early years, when the course – and development – were owned by Arvida, one of the biggest players in the golf community industry of the ’80s and ’90s. After those initial years, he left to pursue other interests within the golf industry but was brought back by the new owners to revitalize and stabilize the club after years of neglect and deferred maintenance.

Since rejoining the management team, Swezey has overseen more than $2 million in improvements and a multitude of projects including a total refurbishing of the clubhouse in 2019, a new playground, a complete resurfacing of the eight tennis courts, a major revitalization of the golf course, improvements in the swimming pools, and the reopening of more than four miles of nature trails along the Alafia River. In addition, members’ satisfaction and support of the food and beverage operations have exceeded expectations; sit down for a meal and you’ll see what I mean!

The golf course was designed to be enjoyed by all golfers regardless of skill level. Joe Lee’s designs are known for their bold and daring style with doglegs and elevated greens, and for superb use of bunkering, ponds, and wetlands. An experienced golfer will find the course full of challenges while lesser skilled players will find it forgiving enough to be enjoyable.

Manicured Bermuda fairways lead to Champion Dwarf Bermuda greens, the same grass used on the greens of 12 PGA Tour venues including Pinehurst No. 2. All the greens are well-protected, and the bunkers seemed to have been strategically placed, both on the fairways and around the greens. Water comes into play on 16 holes and the lush tropical beauty and natural scenery of the River Hills community make for a fun and memorable round of golf.

The practice facilities at River Hills are second to none with a full-length driving range that lets you hit every club in the bag, a short game area complete with bunkers, and a large putting green to groove that putting stroke before setting out on the course. If you need some help with any facet of your game, the talented and professional golf staff offers instruction and clinics for golfers of all levels.

The Golf Shop at River Hills Country Club is fully stocked with everything you need for your game including logoed apparel. As a member, you’ll enjoy the best pricing available on all in-stock golf merchandise including a wide variety of apparel, shoes, balls, and golf accessories by the best brands in golf including Titleist, FootJoy, Nike, Puma, Bad Birdie, Kate Lord, and more. Although they have an extensive inventory on-hand, they are happy to special order items for Members.

River Hills Country Club’s Members enjoy casual and upscale dining options along with a full social calendar throughout the year filled with events and activities for all ages. River Hills offers several dining options and regardless of where you eat, their expert culinary team puts new menus out regularly.

River Hills is all about getting its members “involved. ” Some of the Club’s programs include a swim team, tennis leagues, a year-round tournament schedule, a fully involved golf practice complex, ladies’ nights, men’s league, junior camps and clinics, weekly Gals Golf, Men’s Weekly Rumble, Ladies Nights, Kids’ Craft days, and a host of holiday and community events. All of these add to the vision of being a delightful and involved community.

We attended a wedding and it was absolutely amazing the food was delicious and the staff so courteous as they stocked the appetizers.
The bar staff was amazing and quick service very nice and friendly beautiful place.

Recently new members and our whole family has loved it so far. Great clubhouse, food and amenities. Staff is on point, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Golf course is well maintained. Eric and the Pro Shop are super knowledgeable and helpful.

Amazing food. We had the boom boom shrimp and shrimp tacos and they were great. The shrimp aren't the small ones you get at most places, they are about 3 inches across about an inch thick. The staff manage to give great service despite being short handed (like everywhere else). It has been wonderful watching the club and course grow and improve. We will definitely be back for golf and dinner!

Very beautiful place to live in with wanderful views, trails. You could not find such a beautiful community in Tampa area. I have been in many communities and this is best one!

The course is amazing condition. The clubhouse looks great, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and treats you like family.

We are members and have been for 26 years. The chef and staff have done an excellent job under extremely difficult times. The menu gets better all the time! Excellent COVID19 protocols, excellent staff and food choices! We've ordered "to-go" for months. Ventured into the Club today and we'll be back. Very comfortable! Bob Sweyze is the best GM in years.

We have seen the remodel of River Hills Country Club first hand and I can say - it's amazing! As a wedding photographer and my wife a professional harpist, we have been part of many weddings and venues in the Tampa Bay area. River Hills Country Club offers a truly amazing backdrop for weddings (big or small) and events. Their event team are extremely nice and truly professionals.
