Would not recommend. Very poor outcome including fracturing surrounding bones during wisdom teeth removal of a family member.

Had surgery with Dr Gear and I was very afraid he put me to sleep and I felt absolutely nothing, greatest experience at the dentist ever highly recommend Dr Gear.

Worst decision of my life. I have permanent nerve damage of the left side of my face at only 34 years old. It was a simple expose and bond procedure that even children routinely have done and somehow this doctor botched it. It has been a year now and according to my neurologist, the nerve damage from surgery will be permanent. Robert Gear’s methods are outdated and dangerous causing me completely preventable bone and nerve damage. I suffer from nerve pain and facial spasms every day of my life. I will never be whole again because of the name Gear, and I have to live with that.

Initially, I waited 6 months for surgery as they kept rescheduling my appt. They do not have modern technology like CT scans, and they do not honor HIPPA laws. The Dr was irate towards staff before we began surgery, showing signs of burnout in his older age. There was also a moment where he was unable to see with a magnifying glass what I could see with the naked eye, calling into question his vision. Healing from this commonly executed surgery should have been two weeks, but with the damage he caused I was out of work for two months. I had to get multiple MRIs and scans due to the fracture and damage he caused. I lived in a state of fear as to how bad the damage truly was because he did NOT disclose the fracture or damage to me post surgery or during the follow up. He concealed the bone and nerve damage he caused, presumably to avoid legal recourse.

When I went to new oral surgeons for help, I learned how outdated his machines, methods, and ideologies are. I had to find out from other providers the fracture and damage he caused, traumatizing me deeply. It has taken me a year to find the strength to write this review. I now know he has had malpractice cases brought against him in the past. This individual needs to retire before he hurts anyone else.

I had a tooth extracted last week and the whole experience from start to finish was great. His staff from the front desk to his assistants were friendly, informative, and the greatest for me, calming. Dr. Gear himself has a wonderful bedside manner and was very good at explaining what I was having done from start to finish. Will be recommending him to my family and friends

I've been trying to get in to this office for over 3 months. Front desk seems totally unwilling to accomadate us. They refuse to see any patients before 1pm. Seriously? !? 1 pm is the earliest? And friday is only a half day, they leave the office after lunch. Would love to tell you how the service and staff are, but in over 12 weeks I've yet to get past the phone on the front desk.

Dr. Gear pulled 3 of my teeth. Each time he had bent over backward to accommodate me in any way needed. His staff is great and kind. The office is very clean. I did NOT feel anything in each tooth pull. These are the reasons I trust Dr. Gear to be my oral surgeon.
