I finished attending a 2 1/2 week class last week. Both instructors (George and Rich) are very knowledgably. Thank you for all the corrections, suggestions and instructions. You both are excellent teachers. As a student be prepared to work hard. Poker dealers make good money. There is a good reason for that. The job requires many skills such as your ability to run a game, responsibility to handle money and chips, and my biggest struggle, to keep track of the total amount in a pot at any given time. Just to name a few. You will be exposed too and gain experience mastering all these skills (and more) during this class. My suggestion to new students is to prepare outside of class with at least a basic knowledge of games such as Texas Holdem, Omaha8, PLO, Stud and Big-O, poker hand rankings, reading poker hands and the board. This basic knowledge will provide you much more time (as the student dealer) to master the (in the box) skills required for this profession.
