Great staff! Dr. Mattox was the best, so caring and attentive. I truly appreciate how much attention she gave me and worked to address my concerns.

I've been a patient with Rowe Family Eyecare along with their Vision Therapy Services and everyone involved has been very professional, friendly and helpful, Particularly Dr. Horning, Therapists Cathy and Samantha and the front desk staff is great.

Rowe as a whole is a wonderful eye care business. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and if they don't know the answer, they research until they do. All of the doctors are wonderful, and my favorite is Dr Mattox. She's very sweet and professional, and she'll help you get to the root of your problem and make sure you get the best prescription while listening to you about what's changed in your vision. She explains everything so you understand. Her bedside manner is amazing, and I always feel comfortable with her. Rowe is a clean location, and you can tell they take pride in sanitation and safety of their patients. The wait time is minimal and the service from start to finish is amazing. If you're looking for an eye Dr who cares and goes the extra mile, Rowe Family Eye Care is the place you want to go!

Amazing experience for daughter's first eye exam. Everyone was friendly, extremely helpful and informative. Doctor was so knowledgeable and calming. She made sure we had all questions answered, and was great easing the nerves of my 12 y.o. We are excited to be regulars at Rowe! Definitely a place I would highly recommend!

A lot of chaos which is usually due to overbooking appointments. Staff was pretty nice apart from the lenses/glasses department where the employee was fake nice. Dr.was very knowledgeable. Charged $70.00 with insurance when I could have gone elsewhere for $25.00. Opted out of eyes being dilated and retinal screening which would have cost more. No trial lenses in stock for my vision. Drove 40 minutes and will need to drive over there again just to pick them up, then drive over after the pair is ordered. Will go local next time and just wait to be seen. If they were worth giving 4-5 stars, they would also be worth the chaos and the drive.

Staff is not knowledgeable in prices. They over charged me a few times and added in hidden charges. After having to pay $200 for en eye exam for contacts instead of glasses, when I showed up to pay for my contacts that had come in, the staff said I had to pay ANOTHER $149 for fitting of contacts plus the $165 for the contacts. This is after me calling after our first appointment and getting what the total price will be for our next visit. Walmart

Rowe Family EyeCare provided the best experience I have had at any kind of doctor ever.

This is a powerhouse team of positive, patient, thoughtful, kind, and smart people. Dr. Mattox is brillant and seemed truly motivated to find the most optimal solutions for me.

Was refered to rowes cause i had a piece of metal in my eyes had to wait 3 hrs to be seen. Only to be told there was nothing they could do to help me that i need to go across the street to the professionals. I was charged 135$ for them to tell me that. I was like wow really. So went across the street they removed it in under a min no lie and charged me under 100$ to do the proceedure. Ill nvr recommend rowes to anyone for any reason! BEWARE.

Dr Horning is very knowledgeable and caring. They also have low vision therapy. I am seeing results in just a few weeks! As a bonus, it's also helping me with stroke recovery.

I was visiting from out of town and forgot to pack contact lenses. My hometown doctor called around and Rowe had my lenses in stock. They gave me enough lenses to get through vacation- free of charge! Thank you!

My first mistake was allowing my husband to make our eye appointments. He got the time wrong, and we were late. The receptionist told us we were late and only one of us could get our eyes checked. Which is fine, we were late. But she never offered to make another appt for us, when we were there two other people no showed, she never offered to slide me in since I was sitting there. My husband gets a free pair through his work. However the lady said she was new and couldn’t verify it. We both called it a day at Rowe. We have been going to Rowe for 15 years. I think it is time for them to find new office staff. Do the owners know what happens ona Saturday. I hope not.

They were amazing! I lost a contact while I was here on vacation and they gave me a pair of contacts to get me by until I got home. Literal life savers! Extremely professional and polite. 10 out of 10!

My family has been going to Rowe since we moved to St. Augustine in 2007. Everyone is professional, caring and helpful. Dr. Horning is simply the best. My son struggled academically for years in elementary school. In 2015, when my son was in 5th grade, Dr. Horning suggested Vision Therapy as a way to help him focus. I saw my son’s attention and grades improved dramatically. He is now a Junior in High School and has a 3.6. He got straight A’s his sophomore and is aiming to repeat this year. I highly recommend Vision Therapy. It was a game changer for my son. Thank you Rowe for taking such good care of us!

I bought clear glasses and sunglasses. I wanted tri-focal. First they both came as bi-focal so they had to be redone - it took 8 weeks from order to pickup. I threw away the sunglasses first. The frame was flat with no curve, so on the outside I had reflection (the external sides were like a mirror) - I could not see that when I tried them in the store. When there was light from the side (like when driving) everything was dull - until I put my hands on the outside to block the light which gave me good contrast. The technician offered to bend the frame this and that way, which I declined. Also, the bottom lines of the tri-focal were too low, so the reading part was unusable because I could not focus when looking so far down. Then, I threw away the clear glasses. First, the lines on the right side were a bit lower than on the left and canted. Second, I had purchased with the clear glasses a crizal anti-glare + scratch resistant + UV protection (UV, I believe, is the most important protection I can do for my eyes). I used a UV light and a $5 bill. The clear lenses did not seem to block the UVs, so I went to a lab with the ability to test UV absorption. The lenses were blocking 25% of the UVs and letting 75% through. Had I not checked this, for the next year or so, I would have been exposed to UVs every time I was outside with these glasses. Other labs such as Zeiss, Lens Crafter or Warby Parker have clear lenses with 100% UV protection. In the photos, one pair (with a rounder frame) is my new Warby Parker and the other (the squarish frame) is from Rowe Eyecare (I like the fact that Warby Parker sent me 5 pairs of glasses that I could try for 5 days - and get a good feel for them before ordering). This UV test is mostly what I wanted to share (a UV flashlight costs less that $5 on Amazon).
