Just to clairify.this place is excellent! The problem is the answering service they have. The answering service they hired is extremely rude and does not relay messages. They seem as if they do not care to do their job and that you're a problem because you called. However the actual Drs and staff here are very helpful and attentive. I recommend them. The service in office has been wonderful.

I and my late husband began seeing RTR many years ago and for many of those years, I was quite comfortable. Not any more. I have repeatedly called to make an appointment. NO one ever returns my calls in order to make an appointment. This has gone on and on and on! I thought I would call now before I wrote this opinion. A recording (as usual) answered. I pressed #5 and it rang 20 times with no answer! They should get their act together else, like me, many will be looking for another office. No wonder they are rated only 2 stars; 1 is all they deserve if that.

I have called several times and you can only leave a message and they don’t return my calls. Wish I had a urologist that could be responsive. Thete nurse practitioner was fabulous but left their practice.

I was referred to this practice by a local GP. I had kidney stone removal the end of October. Dr then ordered a 24 hour urine collection. This was completed by 12/9/21. As of today 2/2/22 and after two phone calls to office to get results and being told I would be called back. NO call back! The results of the study were sent to Venice Urology aka RTR Urology on 12/16/21 according to company that processed the study. Needless to say, I agree with other reviews about this practice.

Dr. Klutke did a fantastic job removing 3 large kidney stones through a laser procedure. Unfortunately, his office staff is not nearly the same quality. Following the procedure I had issues and concerns, called the office and left multiple messages requesting a return call from his nurse (you simply can't call and talk to someone). Recording says 24 - 48 hour response time. Day 5 and still waiting. Even worse, I was told the office would call to schedule an appointment for removal of the stint (to come out after 5 days). Day 6 got the call to come in the next day. While there I discussed the phone issue with Dr. Klutke who was very apologetic and indicated they have had major issues with there phone system and are in the process of upgrading same. Let's hope for improved results moving forward from the office staff.

Dr Lomas was very competent, but the staff TOTALLY screwed up two very crucial appointments and tests by failing to follow through on orders. We eventually picked up & hand delivered a CD that the office failed to order delivered. We knew something was askew but each time we called, we were treated with hostility - - - and they implied that we were being impatient. Do not rely on this office for follow-through procedures & appointments, etc. Unfortunately we would NOT recommend this practice.

Unprofessional. Sorry. Snickering at a potential client over the phone is unacceptable. Based on the other reviews I'm not going to miss being mistreated here.

It is appalling. Read the other reviews and if you're a patient tell the doctor to read them too

Dr. Carl Klutke and the teams at RTR Urology and Venice Regional Bayfront Health are Superb! True Professionals who fixed my health issues! Thank you!

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. I would never recommend Carl Klutke based on my experience. I was beyond astonished at the lack of consideration I received.

Do not use. Large office but use phone service so no calls go to office, they all go to an answering service who advise someone will call you before 5PM. No one ever calls that night. Happened several times even when trying to return their calls. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENT

I went here because my doctor referred me to them. She gave me paperwork to give them of everything she wanted them to do, tests to perform. I gave this to them. The only tests they did was a urine test to make sure I didn't just have a uti, and the doctor felt my bladder after I peed. The doctor was nice enough, but they never did any of the tests my doctor wanted. They gave me samples of a medication that worked great, and I thought my problem was solved, despite not having the tests done that my doctor requested. They wanted me to come back in a few weeks for a follow up which I felt wasn't really needed, but when I would try to call and ask why this appointment is necessary (esp during COVID when im jobless) I couldn't get through to anyone except the answering service which are rude and don't care. So, I missed two appointments.after that, when I tried to call to get my meds called in, I got no response despite leaving multiple messages with the answering service.its now been about a month without my meds, no response from them, and im back to where I started needing another urologist. My doctor made another place call me to make an ultrasound appointment because I never got it done.so basically, 70 dollars wasted. No call back after weeks. Nice.

So my Dad (88) had a week hospital stay where a catheter was necessary. He was weak from a severe reaction to chemo (lung cancer) After being released tried this office. He went in to have catheter removed, then home to record fluid intake & output, then back 6 hours later for a bladder scan & they put the catheter back in! Now he has home health care set up and they tried to contact RTR to service him at home and it took 2 days to get a reply and that was after hours so the HHC nurse could not call them back to get the actual order to help my Dad. So he comes back home with the catheter and it starts leaking. I called with an "urgent" message and so did HHC! YOU CAN'T TALK TO A STAFF MEMBER! You have to leave a message with answering service and they relay your message.so finally they called HHC, not us, and explained that after the procedure the leaking would be normal and there may even be some blood. Nobody bothered to tell him that at RTR!
So now they set him up with an appt.to go through this whole process again A WEEK LATER!
They told him he had not had enough output, and he still had fluid but he told them that he has always had an issue with not being able to expell his bladder fully. Which has not ever been a problem for him. They just brushed it off and put the catheter back in. What the heck is going on over there? He is 88 years old, is facing chemo in 2 weeks and needs to be strong. We all know the longer you wear a catheter, the longer it takes to get back to normal.
This office has not wanted to coordinate with HHC from the start. HHC has the capability to service him at home to get this catheter out.
It appears RTR would rather continue to bill the insurance company than to work with HHC for the common good of their patient.
