Sabal Palms Health & Rehabilitation, Largo FL

If I could give negative stars I would! The intake staff and 2 nurses we dealt with were nice enough and then grounds well kept but most of the CNAs seemed uncaring and untrained. We heard, on more than one occasion patients being yelled at by staff such as "SHUT UP AND EAT" and getting hollered at for "POOPING IN BED". We were there for PT which the physical therapist said "OH you are on oxygen and we do not have a portable unit so you can walk" WHICH is what we were there for! She was put in a room with a person with dementia that literally called out ALL night long and would scream when the lights were shut off.when we requested a different room they said NO ONE WILL STAY IN HERE WITH HER.so they WERE aware of it and my partner got no sleep at all. After telling them we were leaving the next morning we were told "of course we have portable O2" we said tell your therapist where it is. The food was unidentifiable and personally would not be fed to my dog. Unfortunately I can not put the photos taken as I do not know how to get them from my phone. Toilet seat was peeling, a vent over the room door was either caked with dust OR had black mold but I could not get close to see which. They brought a plug in O2 concentrator into the room although I had to go home and get the water container from OUR home unit as the DRY O2 caused a nose bleed.they said they would get one but after 3 and a half hour wait I went and got ours and THEN was given a hard time about getting distilled water to put in it. They tried to give the medication for someone else to my partner and thank goodness she asked WHO is this for because I had never taken that and the attendant said OH you are new in here.this place MAY have been good at one time but it is no longer even ONE STAR.if we ever had to go back.we would take our chances at home! OH and they would not allow us to take her meds home! They said if you are leaving your meds stay here. I DID get them back a few hours later after a lengthy phone call.

A festive atmosphere was evident when I went to visit a dear dear friend.
It’s evident that she is receiving good care for she looked so groomed and lovely in her comfortable wheel chair.

Everyone here is taking great care of my mom. This place is very clean, friendly, and professional. I would highly recommend anyone to go here.

Is very professional, They're very welcoming.
The great youth open arms. It's family that. It's a 110% there for you. No judgment. I want to say strict. I would just say they always want you to improve, so don't be afraid.
Of telling them what you need to improve. Cause at the end of the day they got your back. They provide so many opportunities so many benefits. It would be a big mistake. Not to check them out or at least talk to them about opportunities. I did and I don't regret it.

Ease of sign in makes more time to spend with loved one. It also ensures that they are safe by identifying people entering the facility.

Our first visit to see my dad who just arrived. Everyone is so caring. And multiple calls to check on my dad's history on how he got to this point and my plans after rehab. This gave me great confidence they want him to get better. And are very caring.

I went to Sabal Palns to visit my mother in law in rehab. I was greeted right away as I entered the building. Staff was very nice. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was uplifting. Staff seemed very attentive and caring. I was very impressed with the communication from staff to family about concerns or just being updated. We made the right choice to put my mother in law in this facility.

Visited our good friend and spent a couple of hours outside. The area is beautiful but there was a broken chair that should be fixed or replaced. Since this was our first visit the sign-in was easy to get through. The attendant at the front desk was very helpful. The halls were very clean and the rooms were comfortable. There were some comments concerning the meals and availability of the menu. All-in-all residents seemed satisfied.

The people were friendly and courteous and very helpful and the person I visited seemed very happy, I would highly recommend this place for all your loved ones that need rehabilitation

Sabal Palms is a facility that do their best with providing suppliesand technicians available to take cares and help in the needs of patients and good attitudes, clean and calm environnement to be around, some other facilities need to copy the panorama of this facility. I am not lying, I am telling the true about my experience there. Let them keep the good work going to make the world a better place to live in. Love is in the air.

I love my job here. I think on shift is great. I have earned extra money through it. Another plus is the Rain App. For a small fee, you can access part of your check early. That is really a nice thing to have! Payroll, time off requests, paycheck stubs are all available through ADP which is a great perk. I see residents who are very happy here. I love that they have so many activities for them. It’s a class A facility and I would feel very comfortable having a loved one live here!

I Had to choose a rehab for my mom when she fell leaving her without the use of either arms. So glad she was able to get into Sabal Palms…Everyone from registration and social services to The nurses, cna’s, and aides on wing 5 have been wonderful, compassionate, patient, and attentive. Physical therapists are awesome. Knowing the patients limits yet pushing them to achieve their end goals. Food has been so so. But you can bring food in so that is really not an issue.

This facility has nice staff smd management. I was an agency nurse helping out overnight and was very supported by the management. Thank you!

I enjoy working here at sabal palms I'm here today working and the unit that I'm on it's a great learning experience for me and the people are kind and nice and I love it

I have worked at Sabal for a very long time and the compassion I received after my sister passed recently was very touching! Death isn’t new for us but when it’s family it’s different and my Sabal family showed up for me! Thank you!

My sweet friend George Rauscher seems to be stronger and in good spirits taking himself to workout and he is ready mentally to start chemo soon. Everyone working with him is very encouraging and caring. His health and mindset are much better. We are all very thankful for all the caring help he is receiving.

I was visiting a friend and found her in the dining hall enjoying lunch. There were several staff monitoring the residents and helped as needed. Everyone was kind and thoughtful.
