4I take my kid here. They are the best by far. Two sensei coaches work with the kids all of the time! Sensei James and sensei Sansa, great coaches. It is run by Muchacho who is a legend! Other places are like 10 kids on their own and one student "coach". Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a very decent monthly fee. No one beats the Safety Harbor BJJ dojo! BEST BY FAR
This is a very good place to start your jiu-jitsu journey!
The head instructor, who we call Muchacho, is the most patient and knowledgeable martial artist I have met, and I have done martial arts for nearly 10 years.
He keeps a very excellent eye on everyone in the class to make sure students don't hurt each other.
Don't be afraid to join if you are completely new! Muchacho will make sure you learn properly and safely. He will pair you with the right people every roll.
The school is filled with great people to learn with and from. You will always leave with a lot of sweat on your face. It feels like a big family.
Sadly, for medical reasons, I had to take a hiatus after a few months, but I fully intend on going back to learn the art of jiu-jitsu here and only here when my issues are resolved.
Out of all martial arts schools I have attended, this is above and beyond the best one. Made some good friends along the way!

Worth every penny!
Absolutely a great place to train! With in 5 minutes after walking in for the first time, Muchacho sat down with me, we talked, and he immediately made me feel at ease. Great instructor and a very humble vibe here. 10 out of 10, would recommend this place too anyone looking for a gym, who has trained jiu jitsu or who is looking to join for the first time.
Been training for 12 years now. Have been to and trained at many different schools and Muchacho is one of, if not the best instructors I’ve ever experienced. The details in the techniques he teaches is amazing. 3 years ago my girlfriend and I moved here from California and felt extremely welcomed immediately. Training partners here at Safety Harbor Jiu Jitsu now are some of our best friends. You can’t beat the training and atmosphere here at Safety Harbor Jiu Jitsu!
