Salt Springs Observation Trail reviews
3 Nice trail that leads to a dock. I saw a few otters playing. Water was very clear and peaceful. HOWEVER
I have never been covered by ticks like I was when I took this hike. Both feet and legs were absolutely covered. They were in my shoes and socks as well. I am certain there were over 100 ticks on me by the time I realized their presence. I got back to the car as fast as possible and proceeded to remove them.
Can only get on this Trail if you're camping. They do not make this known on any websites or even on the sign outside the entrance, it has hiking as an activity and even a florida birding trail sign.
Pulled 11 ticks off my shorts afterwards. They're very tiny and hard to spot. It's March right now maybe it's better other months. The trails were over grown which explains the ticks. For the view I wouldn't say it was worth the stress.
